Yuiitsu looked at the string in his hand that had just come undone. He couldn't help but sigh as he thought about how he would be able to do it. Not giving up, he took the string and straightened it out before he started to move his nimble fingers together. He focused on how to tie the knot properly. He continued to weave the strings through one another and when he thought he had finally finished he pulled it tight. He smiled down at his work as he happily enjoyed the sight. He wasn't very good at this. He took the string and slid his hands through the opening in the middle. He pulled his arms apart so the string was taut. He tried to pull his arms further apart to undo the knot but it wouldn't slip out.
Andou walked into the classroom, nosedeep into the newest issue of his favourite serialised samurai story. A sword story, if you will. He caught himself just as he was about to bump into his desk, and turned to face the class. One eyebrow raised when he noticed Chishio.
"Well, aren't you here early and eager. I do believe I saw your face on the registration form, but I forgot your name. My name is Andou and I'll be your teacher for today."And maybe tomorrow, and the day after, if this teacher shortage goes on...
He put one hand up to his forehead to shield his eyes and peered around the room. "As empty as I thought... do you have any idea if we are to expect any more students?"
Squinting to read the board through the window, Yun is convinced he will need glasses soon. Stretching his neck in search for the best view Yun smiles and rejoices once the writing is in perfect view. A giant grin grows across his face, but lasts only for the briefest of moments. As Yun begins to read the description, someone meanders in front of the board. Just as begins to glare daggers and open his mouth for obscenities, Yun notices that it's Andou Sensei! The youth gasps and runs towards the academies entrance. 'Maybe he wont be upset if I get inside fast enough.' Racing down the stairs into the classroom, Yun is able to stop just before headbutting Andou. Not having the nerve to look Andou in the face Yun simply mumbles,"Sorry Andou Sensei" Quickly he scuffles away, giving Andou some space.

Yuiitsu continued to look at his string intently trying to remember the look of the knot so he could reproduce the result. Suddenly he heard a voice which caused him to jump and fumble to grab his sword, his hands almost tangled in the string. He was able to get the sword but because of the string it was held awkwardly. When he heard the man say he was a teacher he sighed with relief and then felt a little stupid... 'Who else would come to a school accept for other teachers and students... Maybe the occasional messenger... And I looked like a total idiot too.' He set down the sword and unwrapped his hands from the string. He was about to answer the teacher with his name and his opinion that no one else was probably coming when he heard another person come in.
He stared at the new comer. He really felt stupid then. Yuiitsu sighed softly before he braced himself. He was kind of nervous around new people, but he was able to speak without messing it all up. "My name is Yuiitsu, Chishio. I just started so I don't know if there are others besides us." He looked at the other boy hoping he'd be able to explain if only a little bit better than himself. He hoped he wouldn't make a fool of himself as he attempted once more the jutsu, in hopes of showing how far he was able to progress on his own. He focused on his chakra and tried to make it swell within himself as he made the handseal. "Henge no jutsu." He said softly. His chakra started to slowly drift towards settling to change his shape but at the last minute it surged, causing it to scatter all over the place. He sighed as he sat there, unchanged by the jutsu. He looked up and smiled weakly at the others with his pathetic attempt.

Tenko hesitantly walked into the room and bowed beside the Sensei. "I'm sorry Sensei, I was preoccupied with Mokujin-Sensei's room. My name is Tenko." Despite probably being late he quickly moved towards an empty desk and took his seat. He looked around and nearly cried with happiness. There wasn't any girls in this class. He sighed with relief and looked as if weight has been lifted off of his back. He made sure his sleeves were covering his arms as he leaned forward, resting his head on his arms. He took stock of his new class. 'There's an older kid with a sword... and... Hey! The other boy looks about my age!' He bounced in his seat a moment before he realized what he was doing and stopped himself. He looked to make sure his backpack was close before pulling out his puppet and setting it on the desk, after which he sat patiently and quietly for the Sensei to speak and start class.

To Andou's relief, more students materialised. One of them he had even noticed on his way to the classroom. This one was oddly jumpy as if he was scared of him, but to be honest Andou didn't remember ever meeting him. Well, from his appearance at least it was obvious that he was a Fubuki. Well, you had one every year.
Tenko? The family name Huji wafted into his mind, which was fortunate as Andou was very strictly a family names person when addressing others. (Strangely, not how he preferred to be addressed though.) A weird smile appeared on his face and he sauntered into his seat.
"Well, take a seat everyone. You weren't late today... fortunately. Chishio-kun, was it? You may say that but you don't seem new to the academy by any means." Although his handseal technique needed work. Had he even learned them properly? Andou made a note to speak to whoever had been in charge of him. "And what about you both?" Andou addressed Yun and Tenko.
"In fact, why don't all three of you introduce yourselves to each other? Full name, favourite things, skills, aspirations? See if you have anything in common with each other. You will be partners for the entire duration of academy, after all."
Yuiitsu watched as once again another person entered the room. 'How many people are going join? I thought I was the only one but now there's a bunch of people here... Hmmm." He looked at the books and put them in the corner of his desk. He noticed the other boy named Tenko pull out a puppet and thought that was very odd. He directed his attention to the Sensei, who was at the desk at the front of the room. "M-My brother was a Ninja and he taught me a few things. Nothing really special just some swordplay. Everything else I learned since I got here early." He pointed to a scroll on the desk. "It taught me how to use handseals and which are needed for the most basic jutsus. Jutsu is giving me some problems though... I just wish I wasn't so hopeless with it." He felt like he was rambling and instantly shut up.
He listened to what the Sensei had to say next. He didn't really like to speak so he stood up and decided to give it first to be done with it. "My name is Yuiitsu, Nintai, Chishio. My favorite things? . . . They'd have to be sword practice and reading. As for my skills... I'm not particularly good at anything really... My aspirations are to be a Medical Ninja/ Support kind of person but.. I'm not all that great like I said with Jutsu's or chakra..." He sat down in his seat as his face started to flush with color. He was the oldest one here and was pretty self conscience of it.

Tenko listened to the Sensei as he asked him and the other younger boy if they were new to the academy. He pulled on his sleeves to make sure they were covering his hands. "Y-Yes Sensei. I studied under Mokujin-Sensei for awhile. I learned all the required Jutsu's except for the release of genjutsu." He was a little shy and mumbled the rest of what he was going to say. "I also learned another jutsu other than the required ones..."
He listened to the speech the older boy had given. He was slightly shocked. He didn't think anyone else would be a Medical Ninja. He looked down and took a deep breath before he decided it would be his turn. He stood up at his desk like the other boy had. "My name is Tenko, Tamotsu, Huji. My favorite things to do is to creating things, learning new stuff, and playing with my puppet...s. My skills are." He thought about it for a moment before nodding to himself and finding more conviction. "My skills are crafting things, my control of chakra and..." He flicked his hand toward the puppet and focused as he took control of the tiny puppet. He shakily made it stand up and bow to everyone before he released the jutsu, causing the puppet to drop to the desk in a heap. "Puppetry. My aspirations are to become a puppet master and a medical ninja to help those in need."

Kugutsu no Jutsu (Puppet Technique) Just like a marionette, the user controls a puppet using strings of chakra from his fingers. Another useful quality of this skill is the fact that the puppet can take the form of another person, object, or, more commonly, the form of the user. Puppets are fitted with various hidden devices, most commonly extendable blades, various projectile launchers, and poison, both in gaseous form and liquid coating their weapons. See the puppet thread for more info. This technique can also be adapted to control humans as if they were puppets, or another puppeteer's puppets. Cp cost: 2 cp per round the puppets are used.
Yun listened intently as his classmates introduced themselves. By no surprise to him both of the older boys surpassed him even in the simplest of ways; this being one of his first couple days in the academy. He's only been able to retain a portion of the initial hand seal lesson. Maybe had he come early and trained on his own time. Yun will defiantly have to put in one hundred and ten percent if he has and chance to be one the same level as his classmates.
The eldest of his classmates, Chishio, seemed the most developed. He tells about training he's done with bladed weapons. An older sibling with previous training could be an asset to the boy, perhaps Yun shall ask Uncle Tio the same favor. The other boy, seeming closer to his age, had a clear and focused goal as well. Yun gave Tenko the side eye when he displayed his skills as a puppeteer. Both spoke about previous training they have received, even techniques they have learned and practiced. As Andou was the only person left in the room, Yun assumed it was his turn to introduce himself.
Yun sighed quietly before speaking. "Hello, my name is Fubuki, Yun." The small boy bowed his head to Andou and his classmates before beginning again. "My interests include honing my skills as a shinobi, and reading about past powerful ninja, and tracking. My future goal," Yun lowers his eyes to his desk, feeling exposed. "is to become a hunter-nin of our proud village. To uphold the standards of the reputation my clan has set within the village." With his introduction out of the way, Yun sits and awaits further instruction.

Chishio learned the handseals early? ...How early had he got here? Then again, Andou had been two hours early to a graduation ceremony before, so he supposed he shouldn't judge...
So, a medic-nin swordsman and a medic-nin puppeteer... fusion specialties were really all the rage now weren't they? And Fubuki wanted to be a hunter-nin... Andou chuckled darkly under his breath, better not ever mention the months he had spent on the run from those then. All in all, it seemed like this class was made up of a mix of interesting personalities and aspirations, though some things would need to be ironed out.
"Excellent. And now it's my turn to introduce myself. My name is Saitou Andou, and I'll be your teacher for today and probably until you graduate, why is teaching no longer a noble profession... Ahem. You can call me Andou-sensei. I've had field experience, but eventually life led me to the academy. My specialty is swordsmanship." Andou finished off with a grin that was less friendly and more unsettling.You got the impression that he didn't really have the whole smiling thing down.
"It's evident that all three of you are on different parts of your journey towards being a genin. So that we can reach a slightly more even playing field, this is what we'll do for now." Andou gathered up his chakra, which materialised into a dull gold blob. "Those of you who already know the hand seals can do some chakra molding self-study. It's an important skill for all shinobi, but especially for the specialties that you are aiming for. Chishio-kun, you can work on your Henge no Jutsu. And Fubuki-kun, you know where the hand seal scroll is. I'd like you to learn them by the end of the lesson."
Speech done, Andou sunk back into his chair, sliding the newest issue of Searching for Samurais in front of his face in one fluid motion.

Yuiitsu listened to the others and was slightly put off by the younger kid named Tenko. The boy already knew a jutsu that wasn't part of the academy jutsu's and on top of that he also wanted to be a Medical Ninja. He shook his head and cleared his thoughts as the other boy spoke. 'Fubuki huh? I remember grandma saying something about them... But I forgot what it was..." He was only slightly relieved when the boys aspirations weren't to be a Medical Ninja. He never thought of something higher for himself than the rank his brother had gotten. His Sensei, now known as Andou-Sensei, quickly told them what to do. To which he was happy to learn that he wasn't going to be forced to do something else. He closed his eyes as he focused on the handseals and his chakra. "Henge no jutsu." He felt his chakra surge and then slip from his grasp once more. He sighed as he let his hands fall to his sides.
He looked at the other two and smiled at them even if it was slightly forced. "Don't worry Yun-kun. If I can make it through the Handseals I know you can! Tenko-kun... You can do it." He ended lamely. He didn't know what to say to someone who was more advanced than him and by looking at him, younger too. He wondered if he should ask Andou-Sensei for some private lessons to help him become better. He stood and closed his eyes as he made the handseals while focusing on the right amount of chakra. "Henge no jutsu." He said as he felt his chakra slowly pour over him and start to change the way he looked. He felt the tingle across his skin where the chakra had changed his appearance to look like someone else. When he was done he looked towards the window and saw an older man standing where he should. He smiled happily as he looked towards the other two to see how they were doing, letting the jutsu go.
Yuiitsu quickly diverted his attention back to his task he was given by the Sensei. He rolled his shoulders as he tried to imagine in detail how his father looked. He had seen him just this morning with a happy and ready smile as he sent him off. Yuiitsu closed his eyes and continued the mental imagine as he went through the handseals slowly and pulled upon his chakra. He felt the slowly subtle movement in his core as he went through the handseals. "Henge no jutsu." He said with a little more conviction. He was more confident thanks to his last successful attempt. He wouldn't be outclassed by so many kids younger than him. He felt his chakra pour out and around him once more as is slowly changed his image again to that of his father but this time the minor details were more refined, less hazy. He smiled as he examined himself. He looked towards the Sensei and raised an eyebrow. 'I don't think he likes teaching all that much.' He let go of the jutsu and let the thought just vanish as well. 'Guess I might not ask him for help after all. After all self training is just as good, right?' He nodded to himself before he took a moment to see how the others were progressing.

There's no shock to Yun that Andou-Sensei was all too aware of his lack of skill, though with nowhere to go but up he is optimistic. Yun nods to Andou, confirming his assigned task for today. Once dismissed to training, Yun walked past the chalkboard he defiantly was not spying on through the window earlier and gave it a dirty side eyed look. Grabbing at the scroll perched on the desk in front of him, Yun smiled. 'This should be much easier this time around' Uncurling the parchment to begin reading Yun's optimistic smile began to fade. 'Or perhaps luck just wasn't on my side today' The scroll he is reading from is not at all in the same order they'd been written on the chalkboard! Slapping his palm onto his forehead, a quiet sigh was released. Looking back, he saw Yuiitsu had already made strides of his own. [ roll = 2 fail ]
Well wishes came from Yuiitsu, revitalizing Yun's willpower. He gave Yuiistu a small grin, "Wow, you're doing very from the beginning." Switching his beaming focus to Tenko, Yun spoke again. "I hope you're able to complete your jutsu in no time!" Smile still intact. the young Fubuki returns to the scroll he held in his hand. Unraveling more of its contents, Yun reads more seals in a random order, nothing like he'd seen before. Yun narrows his eyes as he reads further into the scroll. 'Dog, Rat, Dragon, Bird. Why would they not be taught in order, or maybe there's a succession? Do they become progressively harder?' Looking back and forth between the chalkboard and scroll Yun is seeing no pattern as to why they're different. 'I wont reach Tenko and Yuiitsu's level by giving up.' Once again looking behind him at his classmates, Yuiitsu is racing towards the finish line with Henge. [ roll = 7 fail ] ( +1 to Tenko and Yuiitsu )
"Good work Yuiitsu! You seem to almost have it! And Tenko, you had better get a move on, I'll catch up to you at this rate." Yun couldn't help but giggle at himself. Tenko out of the three of them being the farthest progressed. It would take divine favor for that to happen. His true aim being to possibly light a fire under Tenko, wanting his classmate to strive for the best. 'I've got to focus!' Written on the chalkboard the order is in alphabetical order. But the scroll Yun holds in his palm reads Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Serpent, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Bird, Dog, and Boar. There is no correlation between the two. Thinking back, Yun remember's he's already finished Bird, Serpent, Dog, Ox, Tiger, Rat, Rabbit, and Dragon. Should he be able to find Horse, Ram, Monkey and Boar on the scroll, he'll be finished! [ roll = 3 fail cool ]
Tenko listened as Andou-Sensei talked about himself. He wanted to ask some questions but when he saw the creepy smile he just let it go. He listened to the orders everyone was given and was happy to do more chakra training. He was about to start and then Yuiitsu spoke up. He was actually pretty happy that someone wished him luck. He was even happier that it wasn't a girl. He smiled at waved at the other two. "I wish the two of you the best of luck too." He sighed as he closed his eyes and attempted to focus his chakra. He tried to pull more than he usually would. He was able to feel his normal chakra but as he tried to dig deeper he couldn't quite reach the bottom of the pool of his chakra. He sighed and opened his eyes looking around at the others. They both seemed very busy.
He noticed that Yuiitsu was slowly getting better and Yun was... Well Yun was having problems it seemed. "Yun-kun.... Umm... If you're having problems with a Handseal you could always skip it and come back to it later." He looked sideways, not really much of a social person. He looked at the Sensei to see if he was paying attention to how the other students were doing. He raised an eyebrow as he saw the Sensei reading a book. 'Well... I guess it's basic training after all. Who am I to judge. HE'S the Sensei after all.' He closed his eyes once more as he tried to focus more on the bottom of his chakra pool. He slowly delved down deep inside himself as he attempted once more to get to the bottom. He could picture himself reaching down towards it. He was so close, as if his fingers were just an inch from it. He pushed harder until his "Fingers" just barely brushed against the untouched chakra.
Tenko Remembered what Yun-kun said. He had hope renew itself as he kept his eyes closed. He was spurred on by Yun's playful banter. He focused harder as he tried to dig deeper into the pool of his chakra. He kept digging, reaching deep into his chakra. He could slowly feel the untapped chakra underneath everything. He gave it one last burst before he was there. He was able to brush against it. It was as if there was a sharp surge of energy before it slowly died down. He opened his eyes and smiled. "Thanks Yun-kun but I won't be beaten that easily!" He laughed as he stretched his arms and looked at the other two. They were both some distance away from him so he unbuttoned his first shirt and tossed it onto the desk. He felt better just being in the vest.
'Okay, the first seal is Ram.' Yun thoroughly reads through the descriptions of the handseal. If he can not complete his assignment it will not be because Yun is unwilling to put in effort. Mumbling the words in a low tone to himself, Yun believe's he understands the seal. Curling his fingers on his left hand in on themselves, Yun then brings his right hand to overlap the first two digits of his left. Extending his index and middle finger up, Yun feels a small jolt of chakra flow through him. The young boy smiles, completing his seals are proving easier than anticipated. Looking over to Tenko he see's the boy focused intently while also engaging him in playful competition. "You're doing well at Chakra control, lets see if I can do better forming handseals" [ roll = 20 pass ] ( +1 to Tenko )
Yun thinking back to his list remembered Horse was next on his list. This time around, he began at the chalkboard. Reading its strange description, it quickly came to him that Horse is similar to another seal. But which was it? The child quickly made seals for those he's completed, 'No it wasn't Bird, or Dog' His face gleamed as he made the Dragon seal. Keeping his two middle fingers interlaced, Yun bring's in his pinkies to join the others and then lifts his index fingers to steeple together. Thumbs were last, bending them in on themselves, he feels the same pull of power from his core. Chakra flows steadily until he releases the sign. [ roll 9 + 1 = 10 pass ]
Monkey is another of the seal's Yun had been unable to read. Beginning from the chalkboard fared well for his the last time so he might as well continue in that fashion. Scanning the board for the Monkey seal he reads over those passed to re-solidify his grasp on them. Once he comes across the Monkey sign he giggles. 'This one seems to be one of the easiest. Maybe even more so than dog.' Yun double checks his facts, per usual for his analytic frame of mind. The scroll Andou had gestured him to entails the same methods. Bringing both hands up toe chest level, then flipping the right upside down, Yun slides his palms together, interweaving his thumb and pinkie fingers together, feeling the increasingly familiar rush of chakra. This is a feeling that is both very new to him but is intoxicating. ( because seven year old's know all about intoxication rofl ) In his glee, Yun turns his body around completely to his classmates. Glancing over to Yuiitsu, the boy speaks. "You can do this Yuiitsu. Henge will serve us well in the future." [ roll = 13 +1 = 14 pass ] ( +1 to Yuiitsu )
Yun let out a determined huff. 'Boar, the last of the handseals. I can do this. Completion brings me one step closer to my classmates. I refuse to be the runt of the Kirigakure Academy' Unfurling the scroll to the boar seal, Yun smiles. He feels triumphant. Though it may be the smallest of victories, every story starts somewhere. "Boar," he says to himself. Colliding his wrists together, fingers curled into his closed palm by the first knuckle. His thumbs, left to dangle outside. Just as Yun was going to check his work via the chalkboard, the surge of will coming from his core returns to him. For just a few moments he holds it, until he feels a shiver of cold grow over his right side. Concerned he immediately lets the seal go. "Thus is the power of Fubuki chakra," Yun mumbles to himself.
Tenko took a deep breath as he felt himself cool down. He felt overheated when he explored his chakra. He shook his head as he was ready to continue with his training. He was fairly skilled with manipulating chakra and now that he had a glimpse of the untapped potential inside of himself he figured it was time for the next step. He held out his right hand and focused. He felt his chakra start to bubble up within himself. He kept it held back until the last minute when it felt like it was going to blow him up. He focused it all in his hand as he released his chakra. A blue gentle moving chakra began to fill his hand and form into a glob like the Sensei did. He released his chakra and exhaled deeply. He missed using his chakra like this. It felt nice after so long of not actually holding it.
He had used chakra a bunch of times but there was just something about the raw chakra that made him love it. He rolled his shoulders and his neck as he loosened himself up. He may look thin and weak but he wasn't as weak as everyone assumed. His muscles slowly loosened just before he tensed himself up once more as he focused on shifting the chakra to his hand. He closed his eyes as he felt the flow slowly move through him. He opened his eyes and was disappointed it didn't work as well as the last time. He smiled as he looked over at Yun. "Seems like you're doing better Yun-kun. And like he said Yuiitsu, you can do it!" He said, cheering on his fellow students.
Tenko turned his attention back to chakra molding. "Mmm... Maybe I was too tense." He said, mumbling to himself aloud. He looked at his puppet and remembered the training to use the puppet jutsu. It was very similar but with more chakra. He kept that in mind and let the Yun's attempts to help encourage him keep him fired up. He relaxed and focused on his chakra. He felt the swirl slowly move towards his hand like before but this time, slowly, small blue chakra emitted from his fingers forcefully as if they were mini rockets. He kept it going for a second before shifting it to his hand and not his fingers. Like before the chakra slowly pooled in his hand as he focused, not looking anything like the mini rockets from before. He began to wonder if it was because his chakra wasn't strong enough but then he remembered when Andou-Sensei did it, but then again he probably did that without trying while he on the other hand had to focus and try to feel the movement of chakra within himself.
He wasn't going to give up though. He would have even stronger chakra than Andou-Sensei!... Someday at least! He felt a small hole starting to form in the center of his stomach. He knew it was from using chakra. He forcefully put the thoughts of food and lunch break out of his head. He NEEDED to focus! He kept his eyes closed as he began to focus once more. The chakra moving through his body just like before but this time he made sure to focus on his palm. As like with before his hand started to fill with chakra before he let it pool in his hand. He smiled happily as he opened his eyes and saw the orb, glob-like chakra more quickly than before. He guessed he was getting even better and molding his raw chakra. Which started to make him think what his elemental chakra was.
