((My friend spent a week in a coma and got out of a forty thousand dollar hospital bill because someone else brought him to the hospital and he couldn't consent but they acted anyways to save his life. The insurance company refused to pay, so the hospital was s**t out of luck.
And that is why I always have other people take Henrietta to the hospital. It's just cheap.
And, my friend, there's nothing cheaper than free but profit.
I'm also upset. Thoroughly and completely upset. That the people I have RPed with for years don't know me well enough to do what I would want with my character.
Why in all that is holy is Henrietta not a vegetable in some mental hospital after her run in with Reid? I mean, really? You couldn't even give me a coma?
And I thought we knew each other, Marsuru, Jump, Richy, Ren. I thought we knew.))
Pain shooting through your body, aches testing every movement, every joint. It was a typical day in the life of Henrietta.
The sound of the ocean, of flying type Pokemon in the sky. Eyes opening to a metallic ceiling. Henrietta sat up, noticing first that her dress was tattered. Skirt ripped and torn, exposing up to her thighs in some places. The rest of it wasn't better off. A nice scene - if one ignored the bruises, the cuts.
Her eyes adjusted to the dim light, illumination brought by a window that didn't face the direction of the sun. Across the room was a sleeping giant. Where was she? What had happened?
Her eyes scanned the floor, her things were there. Purse, torn to pieces? Heck. Shinai broken and splintered beyond repair? Check. Pokeballs... check.
Henrietta climbed out of the bench she'd been laying on and gathered her things. She glanced to the giant to see him, one eye up, turned toward her as he laid on his side.
"Mornin'," Goldberg said.
Henrietta had seen a world of strange things. She couldn't even pretend she was a shy little girl anymore. Not when there were more important things at hand. "What happened?"
"You got yer a** kicked is what," boomed Golberg's voice, echoing throughout the boat.
"I can't remember anything," she said and Goldberg climbed out of his bed, standing at a full ten feet as he approached. Henrietta watched him cautiously, but in this tiny room there wasn't much she could do. His hand extended and he plucked something from her face, causing her to wince.
"These crystals protected you," he said as he held it out to show the girl. "Coverin' up every wound on yerr body."
"What... are they?"
"My guess? Aura. Looks like you've got talent, girl. That's why I saved ya."
"You.. saved me?" She tried to remember. There was an explosion, and the balcony gave away. She hit the floor hard, could barely move. Could hardly fight back. The nurse, the crazy one, had attacked her then. It had been a lackluster fight, and Henrietta had failed.
And then she went after Melty.
Melty!
Henrietta released the Litwick from his ball and looked him over. He looked... docile. His eye looked up at her but he didn't say anything.
The truth was he couldn't. The injury he'd taken surpassed the physical level. It wasn't an injury he could recover from, not by conventional means.
"And then you arrived." Henrietta could get glimpses, flashes. Chaos, desperation. She looked at Goldberg and he nodded.
"Saw the crystals, figured you had a lot more potential then a girl who dies there. Flipped a coin, came up tails, so I saved ya."
Her fate on the flip of a coin. "Where am I?" she asked.
"My boat, docked in Castelia City."
"I have to warn the others," she said and she turned to leave but Goldberg caught her shoulder and she winced.
"You need to visit a hospital first," Goldberg said. He gestured to her and she looked down. It was true, crystals littered her... Her torso...
The bodice of the dress was tattered, almost completely in ruins actually. Crystals were holding her together. If they disappeared? If they were removed? "You'll bleed out, best to get yerself patched up first."
"Right," Henrietta said. "What about the lady that attacked me?"
"Amber? She ran off into the night, probably gonna come back for yer a** sooner or later. Word of advice, girl, get yerself some training. And soon. Old wooden stick won't be savin' yer a**, and neither will I, next time."
Henrietta looked to her shinai, on the floor. Splinters of wood was the best way to describe it. Ruined beyond repair, almost beyond recognition.
"Thank you," Henrietta said and she turned again to leave.
"Girly, that's just the top of your ability. Crystals were a product of somethin', and that somethin' was strong. But they won't be comin' out for every scratch, and yer probably burnin' at yer limit now. Burn out and you'll die, too. Remember, trainin'."
Henrietta had turned her head to look at him, to listen. When he finished she left.

"And who might you be?" asked the man with the cheek to cheek grin. Surrounded by a city of machinery and god forsaken experiments. Organs in complicated tests strewn up like decorations. Computers, keyboards, all stained with blood, coagulated and fresh, the color white so far faded from this room it was a wonder to imagine that the entire place had originally been just white. Down to the man's blood stained coat.
But the sight wasn't as bad as the stench. Decay and rot, death, excrement. A normal person would vomit.
Emily wasn't a normal person. "I'm your new assistant."
The Scientist cackled for an absurdly long time after that. As if to test her patience, to drown her out so she would say no more. "Great! I was just getting hungry."
Contractually, people that took this job were also meals. Experiments. Whatever he wanted them to be. They signed a waver when they signed on to this job. The World Government? Didn't say no to a genius when people willingly signed up for this. He wasn't assigned assistants, they came to him. To learn the wonders of genetic engineering.
"No by contract. I'm your superior." She smiled politely as The Scientist stared at her.
"Then that would make you the boss, not the assistant," he said. He had no interest in superiors. They bored him.
"I'm here to assist, as your superior." She kept up her smile, looking for a hole in him but she could see none. That smile of his, cheek to cheek, was carved into his face. He literally did nothing but smile.
"So, what are we wor-
Emily was interrupted as someone pushed the door open. "Emily, Captain Redgrave's house, it's been destroyed."
"What?!"
***
"She says she wants you to attend the concert in Nimbasa," Elysia said. Kero regarded her but that was all.
"Come on. Nobody was hurt, and we both know you're gonna run off to play super hero again. Make some time for your family. Just this once," Elysia said.
"You don't care about the house?" Kero asked. She was uncharacteristically calm, social. She should be upset, blaming him, all these things.
"How long were we married, Kero? I know you'll protect our daughter, your family. I know that if you were in that house they would've never gotten to blow it up. You almost lost a grand child, I know. But you're the one that tells me you gotta keep walking, right? She's alive, you'll get the sons of bitches. But just this once, come to her concert as a father. It means a lot to her."
And Kero was silent, his phone ringing a moment later. He answered and Elysia frowned.
"Kero-
"Hello? Yes. I'll deal with it right away." He paused. "Yes I'll inform him immediately."
"Great. Work, right? Did they find the guy?" Elysia asked.
"No, someone else."
She smiled, a dry laugh escaping her lips. She knew this game. ******** politics. "They're trying to keep you away, aren't they?"
"Good bye, Elysia." Kero turned to leave while Elysia shook her head. His phone returned to his ear as he left the home of his ex-wife.
He'd dialed Jump Einatz' number.

That b***h. She'd get her, she'd get her before she corrupted anyone else. A great man like the one she'd met, reduced to devil's work. Her and her Litwick, they had to die. Devils. Demons. Monsters. Amber overlooked the scene of the battle, a giant scar in the earth where it had come from. A little ways away from the Plasma HQ, the battle had drawn out that far. A few streets down - probably the reason no Plasma or Police arrived on scene, right?
She didn't know. Security hadn't stopped her, probably saw her doing God's work. But now she ached, ached to do it again.
And ached because she was missing her arm. Torn off by that man she'd cared for. Goldberg, the man who'd saved her, had taken her arm with the peculiar gun of his.
"Never again will I let you corrupt an innocent life." She snarled.
And she left the room, the task force that had been assigned to hunt her down dead and gone.
Kero would be hearing about that soon.

"Stop!" cried Chuck and he was shoved into the wall, falling from it back onto his bed. He shouldn't even be standing.
Seohyun stood, her back to the wall, apathy lining her face, fear tracing her aura.
Gorm stood before them. "We're moving out," he said. He'd had to repeat himself, when they had no time for that. "Now."
"We're in no condition!" Chuck shouted. "Bill ain't even awake!"
"I'm awake." Bill stood in the doorway, eyes on Gorm. "Let's go, you and me. Forget these small fries."
Gorm frowned as he turned to Bill. "I need a team. Not one person."
"Short on time, right? I can tell from your tone. They're just gonna fight, let's go before more ******** time is wasted."
"Bill.." Chuck stared at him. "You're in no ******** stupid, do you know who I am? I'm fine. C'mon Gorm, we'll pick 'em up when they're ready. Let's just get this over with."
Gorm frowned and left, following Bill.

The early morning had extended to present time, because it's convenient. In that time, Henrietta had systemically had each piece of crystal removed and stitches her applied to her. Her face bandaged, bruises lining, black despite the make up. The crystals themselves were a phenomenon that the doctors couldn't quite understand.
And when Henrietta had tried to leave they'd warned her, warned her that if she left without resting, without the full treatment, her insurance wouldn't pay.
"Some things are more important than money," she'd said and left. Back onto the streets, broke and probably in debt. Clothes changed from the dress she'd had before to a new outfit.
The dress to her mid thigh, straps holding it on her shoulders. The little pink dress, with stockings and shoes, probably wasn't the outfit one would expect someone to wear when they'd determined to train, to get stronger. And to warn their friends.
But hey, Henrietta was short on clothes since Melty had burned them all. As she left into the sunshine of the day everything felt different. The people, the air, the sky. Everything was different. Not new, just different.
Like the whole world had been turned on its head. Strange how quickly that can happen.

"what happend?" she led him tward the window, where he could see over the city. he could see the ferris wheel, the battle subway station, the pokemon center, musical hall, and many other attractions. he smiled and stretched out. "this one looks alot more fun than the last town!" kenta said as he started to get dressed. "lets start by getting a better look!" he pointed out the ferris wheel and then excitedly picked sasha and his stuff up, and headed down to leave.

((Fun fact: I am also synchronized with my cat, so I write from experience EDITED with pics for explanations/a tune)) SalieriI’ve never seen anything this before. Burgh looked down at his computer, then back at Salieri and Salem’s matching eyes. This doesn’t seem like it was part of her strategy. Perhaps it was a fluke? I hope she’s aware of the potential dangers here. The Battle Girl was expressionless as she looked down at her hands with curiosity, as though she was seeing them for the first time. Slowly, she lifted up her right arm, and as she did so, Salem’s right foreleg lifted up in time with her. Salem lifted up an arm and rubbed the back of her paw on her face to lightly scratch it. Salieri did the same with her hand, looking very catlike as she seemingly imitated her Espeon. “Nya.” “Are you…are you still prepared to continue?” Burgh called out to Salieri. Both she and Salem perked up their heads to face him, and then nodded. As Salem got lower to the ground, Salieri entered a kung fu cat stance. Burgh furrowed his brow. She wasn’t talking. It was like the Battle Girl had changed into someone else. Who was the one in control here? “X-Scissor!” Leavanny ran at Salem with her arms out at her sides. The Espeon could feel Leavanny change the air currents through her fur. Salem could visualize Leavanny’s next move, a crushing chop to the skull, before the Bug could make it. Salieri felt it too. The Battle Girl brought her arm back and then shot a twisting jab forward. At the same time, the red jewel on Salem’s head blinked as an orange sphere of heat energy the size of a soccer ball formed in front of her. The Hidden Power blasted forward at Leavanny. That’s fast! Burgh was surprised. He didn’t hear Salieri give an order. Is this what it meant to be Synchronized with a pokemon? “Dodge it!” Leavanny stopped on a dime and jumped high into the air, allowing the Hidden Power to pass right under her and explode into one of the honey coated walls. Salieri brought her hand back and shot the other one forward, this time as an uppercut. In time, Salem blasted another Hidden Power up at Leavanny. Thinking fast, Leavanny pointed at the ceiling and shot a thick strand of String Shot out of her arm. She swung on the string to dodge the blast, letting go and flipping to the ground behind Salem. Salieri stood up straight, took a deep breath, and then shot out a back kick without looking behind her. Salem swiveled around and blasted out another Hidden Power, forcing Leavanny to cartwheel to the side to avoid certain defeat. With just Hidden Power, she’s trying to put us on the ropes. But she’s just as vulnerable as we are. “Close in!” Once she finished her dodge, Leavanny sprinted forward. Salieri returned to her cat stance, causing Salem to stand at ease and face her opponent. A glint shined in the mantis’s eyes before she brought her arms together across her chest to slice into the Espeon. Salieri front flipped forward, and so did Salem. The Quick Attack left behind a trail of sparkles as Salem went right over the X-Scissor and consequently Leavanny. Leavanny twisted around and whipped out her arm to continue the assault, but Salem ducked under the slicing attack thanks to Sal’s quick movements. But Leavanny spotted an opening, right above Salem’s head. She brought down both of her arms for a dropping slice attack, preparing to end the battle in one move. To her dismay and shock, her arms never reached Salem’s head. The Espeon’s paws had clasped onto Leavanny’s arms, catching the blades between her paws before they fully dropped. A sly grin appeared on her face. In the challenger’s box, Salieri stood with her hands clapped together and a similar grin. “ Did you truly believe we were the underdogs?” Salieri asked. Burgh froze. The girl’s voice had doubled, echoing in on itself in a higher pitch. Leavanny grunted as she struggled to press down and continue her attack. “ We’ve always had the upperhand! Now it’s time for YOU to be scared of US!” She lowered her arms and jumped backwards, causing Salem to do the same. Leavanny’s X-Scissor swiped into the ground, cutting only the arena floor in front of her and kicking up dust. When the cloud settled, Leavanny could see Salem darting around with Quick Attack. The Espeon was moving fast enough that it looked like her body was folding up into a tube. Salieri swayed around in her challenger’s box, dodging non-existent attacks. Leavanny spun around, trying to keep up with Salem’s movement. Salem finally stopped a few feet behind the mantis, and as Salieri started punching rapidly in front of her, Salem let loose a barrage of Hidden Power spheres. The Gym Leader knew there was no time to dodge. “Air Slash!” His pokemon swiped at the spheres in front of her, cutting them up with blades of air and causing them to explode before they made contact. But Salieri kept on punching, and Salem kept on blasting away. Leavanny continued to intercept the attacks, but they began to overwhelm her. Soon, one knocked her in the shoulder. The stun was enough to stop her, and all the Hidden Powers that followed blew up as they crashed into the mantis. They chained into a large explosion that engulfed the center of the arena, and it was only then that Salieri and Salem let up their attacks. When the explosion cleared, Leavanny lay motionless on the ground. Burgh’s jaw dropped. He looked up at Salieri, who had her eyes shut in groggy stupor while she clutched her head. After opening them again, Burgh saw they returned to their old amber color. Sal blinked a few times, as if waking up. Then a huge grin appeared on her face as she saw the scene before her. The Battle Girl hopped over the guardrail and ran across the arena over to Salem. “That was THE s**t! Synchronize is THE COOLEST!” she roared victoriously, picking up Salem’s by her front paws and swinging her around before bringing her into a tight embrace. The Espeon looked dizzy, but nuzzled up against her trainer. Walking across the arena, Burgh returned his defeated Leavanny and produced a small piece of metal from his hand. “This is it, the Insect Badge. I’ve never seen a presentation quite like that before. You are truly a unique trainer, and have earned this badge.” Salieri let Salem onto the ground before returning her to her pokeball. The Battle Girl swiped the badge from Burgh and put it into her Badge Case. Then she put her arms to her side and bowed to Burgh, causing him to raise an eyebrow. “This battle opened my eyes to techniques I never even dreamed of. Thank you for the fight.” A sweatdrop appeared on the back of Burgh’s head as he clapped a hand onto Sal’s shoulder. “It was a good battle, my pleasure. Now could you stop doing that? It’s clashing with my hipster image.” **** A minute later, Salieri exited the arena. She was actually surprised to see Wayne in the lobby: she had expected him to have wandered off by now. It’s what she would have done, anyway. The Battle Girl stopped in front of him and put a hand on her hip. Now she realized she had worked up a minor sweat from battling in Synchronization with Salem. It was a little more straining than she expected. “I tried to make that quick, sorry to keep you waiting. Do you want to come swing by the center with me real quick before I teach Hitmonlee Blaze Kick? Chen Zhen and Haizhe need to be healed.” **** JumpThe Interpol Agent's phone went off, playing a loud hip hop beat for a ringtone. Jump chuckled sheepishly in front of Zack and Jacqueline before checking the caller ID. Then his face froze. "Oh no no no no no no no no no." He took a deep breath. "Cool your jets, Jump, he's just a voice on a phone..." Jump gulped, then picked up the call. "Ay yo, what's good?" he spoke into the phone in his usual cheerful fashion, completely whiplashing off of his previous anxious sounding tone. **** On Goldberg's BoatA few minutes after Henrietta had left, a small figure stepped out of the shadows in the corner of the cabin. It was a young boy with messy grey hair that hung just below his ears in wisps. He wore a mesh patterned black t-shirt, dark blue jeans and grey sneakers. On his belt hung two thick machetes, with wide blade that imitated katanas. In an adult's hands they would be normal sized, but compared to the child they were massive. "Who was that?" he asked in a quiet, level tone.

"We've got a mission. We're heading out," he paused, the stealth jet began to descend before him. The cloaking system turning off. Cars honked, people gasped and gaped.
"Now." Kero boarded the jet.
Goldberg's boat
"Some girl with some aura ability she's not aware of. Haven't heard of that too often, have ya?" He chuckled and looked over to the little man, boy, whatever.

Well, there wasn't a whole lot of reason to run around the entire city looking for her friends. Honestly, it felt a little silly. They were safe, she thought. It was what she had to believe. As she was now, she wasn't strong enough to protect them. To help them. To fight at their side. Still a damsel in distress, being saved by everyone else.
And that's why she trained. The outskirts of Castelia, where no one would see her. Straining herself could reopen her wounds, so Henrietta set about a different course. She tried her best to make the crystals from before appear - to no avail.
Melty wasn't in any condition to train. He just seemed tired, weak. The Pokemon Center didn't know what was wrong - nothing they could do. After they'd told her that they kicked her out. Cause she's still banned.
So he rested within his Pokeball, his life force seeming to flicker. Even if he consumed, he wouldn't be covering so easily from a blow like that. Henrietta couldn't imagine what had happened, but for Melty it was a strike on his very essence. A faded will coupled with it, as he felt like he was dying, and it only took him closer to the edge.
Galvantula was tasked with the creation of a fortress. Before his flaw had been that he was unable to properly defend himself. Now? He had webs being created, meant to hold up another side of the web, until he could create a proper foundation for a 360 barrier of electric charged web. In a sandstorm, it doubled as mastering the technique to do it under harsh conditions. Perhaps not perfecting it, but mastering it enough to use it in combat.
Darumi was at first tasked with training his power. Until he punched the ground with enough force to crater it. Arms that could destroy an entire dump truck, yeah, he was strong.
There had to be a way, Henrietta thought, of making him even stronger, right? Henrietta didn't know it. Other than conventional ways, of course. Alright, she'd decided, he'd trained his speed the day before. "What about endurance? See if anyone here can wear you out by hitting you." It sounded cruel, but Darumi was up for it. He went off, to challenge the local Pokemon.
Boldore's training was different. The sandstorm around them whipped and moved powerfull. Henrietta had heard of Pokemon that could control sandstorms, could make them. Boldore had been tasked with that. No controlling it, but forming his own within it. Essentially, he'd be making the sandstorm stronger.
Finally that left Bastion, her new little Squirtle. He could... make bubbles. And hardly stay in the sand storm uneffected. Thus, he wore the tatters of Henrietta's previous dress to protect himself. Until, of course, he could figure out another way to.
Bastion was basically tasked with withdrawing in his shell while being effective enough to bring worth attacks and maintain maneuverability.
Luckily for convenience, Squirtle had basically been domesticated by his previous owners. So all that reluctance to listen was already gone.

Jump
Jump began to pace back and forth, rubbing the bridge of his nose. Of course Kero wouldn't just tell him what it was, or where for that matter. "I'm gonna need you to be a little more specific than that," he said into the xtransceiver. "What are we doing? Is it a casual or formal event? Should I get my nice jacket?"
Goldberg's Boat
"Out," he replied tersely. The boy looked out the window of the cabin at the city, but did not step out onto the deck. Judging by his paleness, he didn't get a lot of sun.
"Why are we still here?" he asked Goldberg. His grey eyes narrowed at the buildings and people he saw before him. "I hate it here."

"Nope!" Wayne stood up, "I'm allergic to pokémon centers. There's a desert right to the north of town that we could use for training though, so I'll meet you at the city gates?"
He stretched, letting his arms swing down to his sides.

Salieri smirked. "You bet. Burgh was tough, but we proved to be tougher." She didn't want to come out and say how she used two pokemon weak to Bug to achieve victory, though. Not yet. It would be rubbing it in too much.
The Battle Girl held up three fingers. "That's three badges down, five to go. Man, I'm on a roll, I can't wait to tell..."
Some thought that Salieri had must have completely derailed her train of though, because her smirk faded away fast. Her eyes were glassier, looking off into an unknown distance as she lowered her arm to her side.
Sal folded her arms and quickly turned away from Wayne. "Uh, yeah. The gates...I'll meet you there..."
