Well that puts a damper on things.

You mean put a damper on our plans for a night of hot lesbian sex? I thought you meant I'd have to be celibate from men only. gonk

Ayuta
Oh dear not another pope who actually respects the teachings of the Catholic church. gonk

And also a human being voted by other human beings into that very influencial position.

If this guy keeps a strict position and pulls the Church in an even more rigid dogma, another schism might not be in the realm of the impossible.

This guy values are way too conservative. Stating that contraception is against the Church in Africa where AIDS is running rampant because we must save all lives, that's a bit surreal.

Oh well, he's 78 years-old and it is clear that he's a transitory Pope. Let's wait and see...

Ayuta: It's ok. It tooked me ten minutes to write this previous post. I respect that you don't agree with me and that's all fine. I'm not pretty religious, I don't even believe in the existence of a God, but my mother is heavily involved with her local Church and the Pope's conservative positions really hurt the religious community as the faithful do not recognize themselves in Vatican's views. In that regard, I'm always curious about it as it's story is fascinating.

How could the Pope sticking to the roots of the Church's teachings hurt the religious community of the " faithful "? The faithful Catholics obey the Pope stare

What're you gettin' at? >.>

(I'm not really an imposter Catholic. I just want to be Pope. There's a difference.)

The faithful follows the words of the Christ and therefore those of God before those of the Pope. However, it's interesting that Ratzinger did contribute to the Vatican II Council (which was even more revolutionnary that what it finally applied) under Pope John XXIII changed radically his views upon the Church.

I'll stop bugging you about it. wink
