Vin already told me that it's ok to have pets as long as they don't act on their own kind of thing when I gave him the parrot argument.

He even said that these pets are allowed their own skill sets.

So do you know Hunters from RO? You know, when they shoot their falcons do Auto Blitz? That s**t would be so sweet, if only I had known!

But considering that pets are all good, my next question would be how far do you take it? Would it be possible to play a necromancer as long as you define limits to the familiar? Theoretically, you can take it to the extreme as Dan is doing and command an army. An army of ghouls, all with their own skill sets.

Or..You could just be limited to playing Carl from Blaz Blue, who if given the right skills for his puppet can be entirely broken.

I don't get it though, this was a question like a week ago and nobody was interested enough to talk about it then.

As far as Summoned monsters, pokemon, puppets and robots, I've gone this route. And this isn't even for tournament, just general guild play.

Quote:
Summoning

1. The summoner will not use the summon as an excuse to play anything that breaks general conduct rules.

2. The summoner will describe monsters summoned in detail with attacks and abilities as if they were separate characters of their own right. There is no limit to how many monsters or beings can be listed in your profile. List everything you summon and what they do IN YOUR PROFILE.

3. The summoner will describe items summoned in detail. Items will be described in terms of what they can be used for, and what they can do.

4. Items can be summoned before battle in whatever quantity is reasonable for the user the carry.

5. One monster can be summoned before battle to have ready for combat.

6. In battle, the summoner will have to take an action, a post, in order to summon or switch summons, no instant-summoning.

7. As a general rule of thumb, no more than three summons in any single battle. The same rules apply to those who summon inanimate objects.

8. Summoning requires energy, the more powerful the summon, the more energy used. If you are summoning without penalty, something isn't Kosher, it's like being hit without taking damage.

9. Summoners can rarely fight in tandem with monsters. Unless there is a proven level of cooperation and plot backing, the summoner must exert a strong effort to command and control the summoned monster.

While I appreciate the compliments, I'm instead too busy pitying my poor cat. I just got my camera back for the night, and made a montage of what my two little cousins Emily and Naliah did with it.

I generally try to avoid commenting overly much on fights outside of my own.

That's why I rarely, if ever READ other fights during the tournament's run time. That and because I'm lazy.

When I do comment, I try to be neutral whenever possible.

Roen Jaeger
Maybe I should stop posting in the OOC, then.
Nah, we're gonna hate on you regardless. Your douchebaggery has spanned the time of fifteen years, and will continue to do so even if you leave.

Other than that one, which is more specific about 'use it like this' the other ones tend to boil down to a general feeling of "don't be an asshat and we're cool".

Not that having rules for something goes against my religion at all.

*Quotes the one set of summoning rules he's ever really bothered putting into text.* I'm gonna need to rewrite this along with everything else when I make the new Codex for this year.

8. There are certain guidelines that must be followed when bringing in sentient equipment or using abilities that can be controlled outside of your body. These guidelines are as follows:

Quote:
No, you cannot bring an autonomous sentient weapon/armor/item with you as equipment. If it can act without requiring you to do something, then it counts as another person rather than just a piece of equipment. This is the major difference between sentient and autonomous, as well as the major difference between magic and autonomous. Autonomous = no.

No, you cannot create autonomous constructs. Whether it's a little man made of rocks, or a firebird, or whatever the hell else you want to call it, you can't have it. Why? Autonomous. No.

What you CAN have: A sentient weapon that cannot act on its own. A construct that has to be intentionally and consciously manipulated by the user.

Not really seeing how Carl from Blaz Blue was or could be entirely broken. Sure, he was top tier in Blaz Blue, but that was because of his ability to juggle opponents back and forth if done absolutely right and timed perfectly. For a roleplaying tournament where you would have to explain the fact that the puppet moved exactly as Carl did, you really, really, really couldn't break it. Once someone moved around the puppet and got to Carl, what was the puppet going to do if Carl was absolutely getting his a**-kicked without being able to turn the puppet around without concentrating on it?

There is a difference between things. Your argument on that portion is kind of invalid.

I didn't mean in the game Vince, I meant in the RP setting. Given the right skills, the puppet could be totally broken. Or even with its current skills to stun and grab, in the RP setting, being able to bind your opponent is pretty much instant lost for them since we don't have HP bars. The puppet can move on its own, you just have to use the drive button or something. You could explain it by using eye twitches or some mental remote control if you needed to.

In the actual games though, he's usually mid-tier I think.

I can't believe that Fiddle stick fed the Blitz with ten kills! He stands by the turret for a reason! Ugh, there's no point in playing a tank Shen if my teammates arent reliant enough to bring the kills in. Not to mention, the team is so disorganized, everyone is some place else during their own thing. We survived for a good five minutes because I kept telling everyone to stay together, and yet, you got one or two people going off and doing something else.

Nope. BlazBlue was the one fighting game that I actually got into. He was highest tier.

Also, I don't really consider that to be broken at all. The puppet can easily be dodged. Carl has to concentrate to use the puppet in the first place. Once that is gotten around, what then?

If your argument is that, then saying that people wearing armor are broken and that's instant loss for their opponent because they can't hit them. Come on. You can't even give that argument.

People wearing armor isn't the same as saying you make it impossible for somebody to move so they can't dodge your death beam. That's pretty much what landing the stun ability or managing a throw in the RP setting would amount to. Sure, he could be beaten still, but it's along the same lines as commanding robot army.

But, I definitely know for sure Carl isn't top tier in CS.
