Double EDIT: Discredit the roll. None was needed.
Takeshi floated on the steadily moving river, its current pulling him down stream slowly but surely. Takeshi was much stronger now, so paddling back up to where he was wasn't a problem. Takeshi wanted to get his rest and conserve as much energy as possible, so that he could continue swimming towards the shore, where his clothes were. What worried Takeshi was that at any time, a quick, fast-moving wave could knock the rocks from his ankles and the rocks could be swept away down the river. Then all his training would have been for naught, or at least this training. So Takeshi waited the least amount of time he could, then he began to paddle back towards the shore.

EDIT: Swimming training takes place in a past time frame.
After giving himself a minute or so to rest, Takeshi began to swim back to the shore. It was strange to him. Most of the way across the river, he had felt fine and had crossed through with little resistance. Even now, Takeshi was struggling to make the short distance left before him to the shore. He thought that perhaps he had expended too much energy when crossing earlier, that he had been exerting so much force that swimming a that time had seemed like a breeze. Now, it was not.
Takeshi continued to swim, though now he felt the weight of the rocks more than ever. It was struggle for him to not be able to use his legs, but he knew that the training would pay off as soon as he was done. So Takeshi kept fighting the river, forcing his way through to the other side, and soon enough he reached the shore. His feet began to drag on the bottom of the river, and he knew that he could just walk the rest of the way up the shore, though when he began to walk on this legs, the rocks fell out of their bindings on his ankles, and he ended up walking over the rope as it fell limp off his ankles. But the training was over, so he didn't care. Takeshi simply continued to walk until he was standing on dry ground.
As soon as Takeshi was out of the river, he went over to the rock he had set his belongings in when he first began the swimming training. He redressed himself within a few seconds, and walked up the bank of the river and into the forest. He didn't really care for the rope he had used to tie the rocks to his ankles with, he didn't see any use for it now. He simply kept walking, back to his campsite. Little did he know that others were headed in the same direction...

[enter from meadows] 9-0=9 ( 1 clone -1 cp ) Aryza Inuzuka Cp:3/4 The girl was running her pony tail trailing behind her as she did so. A black ball of fluff, or to be more accurate, her pet wolf as ran along behind her. She had run all the way to the forest out side of the meadows. Finally Aryza stopped to catch her breath. She closed her eyes for a moment. It was so quiet compared to where she had been before. Perfect for concentrating.
Reaching for a pocket she had she pulled out the scroll given to her at the Academy. It was now time to get the second part of the Bunshin training over with. Opening it she read through what was necessary. Once she was sure she had understood it she rolled it back up and replaced it in her pocket. Placing her hands in front of her she made the seals necessary one by one. When finished she found herself looking at an exact copy of herself. It was weird. She wasn't the only one who thought so. Kuroi was thinking the same thing.Bunshin no Jutsu Part II The second part of the training would be to create the actual clones by using the learned handseals. To successfully create a clone, the student would have to have a total DC of 5. With every interval of 5, the student would make a clone. 5 = 1 clone (-1cp) 10 = 2 clones (-2cp) 15 = 3 clones (-3cp) 20 = 4 clones (-4cp) If a student only has 3 CP, then he cannot create 4 clones, even if his total roll is 20. Resting for one post will gain back +2 Cp (temporary, only for this lesson). They must successfully complete the Jutsu 4 times, regardless of how many clones they create. Formula: 1d20 + Chakra mod. 12-0=12 ( 2 clone -2 cp ) Aryza Inuzuka Cp:1/4 After having stared at the clone for a while both she and Kuroi touched it. In response smoke appeared and what was once a copy of her no longer was there. It was like she had just killed herself. for some reason that thought amused her and she giggled. It was just a bit funny that a simple touch like that could make the clone disappear. Now that the clone was gone she went to making another one. clsoing her eyes the young girl made the seals while focusing on her chakra. Once by one she made the four seals that were required. Feeling the chakra leave her body she opened her eyes. This time it wasn't just one clone but two. That meant improvement. Happy with her success Aryza smiled. According to the scroll she had to do this training four times and she had just done it twice. In no time she would be done with it and move on with the last lesson.Bunshin no Jutsu Part II The second part of the training would be to create the actual clones by using the learned handseals. resting post +2 cp Aryza Inuzuka Cp:3/4 Aryza sat down on the ground. She knew she had enough chakra for at least one more clone but she didn't want to do it again for a while. The girl had decided to take a small break and recover most her chakra back before going at the Bunshin again. Kuroi shortly after she sat came towards her and placed his head on her lap. Smiling she began to run her fingers through his soft fur. He was so small and so cute! Yet she couldn't wait for him to grow up and become a full grown adult wolf either! Once he was that big he would be very strong. Thinking of Kuroi being big began to make her curious about herself. How tall would she grow? How strong would she become? Many questions like these ran through her mind until she finally let out a heavy sigh. Thinking about the future was fun at times but it could make ones head hurt. Still running her fingers through the wolfs fur she tilted her head up and gazed at the trees above her. How long had it taken them to grow so tall?Bunshin no Jutsu Part II The second part of the training would be to create the actual clones by using the learned handseals. 12-0=12( 2 clone - 2cp ) Aryza Inuzuka Cp:1/4 Glancing back down to the cub laying on her lap she pet him a couple more times. Afterwards she gently got back up. Most of her chakra was back so it was time to train again. How many clones would she manage to make this time? Would she make only one or would it be three or maybe even for? Well standing there doing nothing wouldn't do anything. Determined to finish the lesson with her best effort the nine year old brought her hands together in front of her face. Taking in a deep breath she closed her eyes and slowly began to move her fingers till they made one seal then went to the others. All this she did while building up her chakra. Once the four seals had been completed she released the chakra she had accumulated making two more successful clones. She had wanted to make more but apparently she hadn't focused enough chakra to do so.Bunshin no Jutsu Part II The second part of the training would be to create the actual clones by using the learned handseals. 12-0=12 ( 2 clone - 2cp but due to cp limitation only 1 clone is possible) Aryza Inuzuka Cp:0/4 Her heart began to race. This lesson had to be the easiest of them all! She was going through it very quickly. Only minutes ago had she began the second part to the bunshin training and now she was near completion. All she had to do was make one more clone! Without hesitating she went straight to it. But first she tapped the other two clones to watch them turn to smoke again. It was kind of a fun sight. Once the smoke had gone she made the handseals again. This time she decided to make things a bit more difficult and do them faster then the ones before. She also kept her eyes open. Her chakra coursed through her body then was released. To her disappointment only one clone stood before her. She had wanted to make more but the girl had no more chakra left. Well the lesson didn't say how many clones you had to make. It only stated you had to be successful four times, which she had. Bunshin no Jutsu Part II The second part of the training would be to create the actual clones by using the learned handseals. [Note: This takes place during an alternate frame.]
It was early in the morning, and he boy walked the plains of Konohagakure. Saito looked up, sighing, he should've slept last night. Saito stayed up too long, simply working on a portrait of his mother. He had been restless lately because of the sudden events in his life. He smiled a bit, it was alright. He enjoyed all this. It was simply human to have such an active mind about all these things.
The boy had forced himself to wake up early because he wanted to learn the Kawarimi-- along with other things. His teacher just so happened to be the Hokage, so Zephyr couldn't just focus on him...
Whenever he did have time, something was going a muck. He could learn all these simple jutsu on his own time. The boy looked down, closing his beautiful green eyes. It couldn't be helped...
It was indeed too much to ask to have the leader of an entire village just to focus on one insignificant shinobi~ The academy student stopped, looking around. He could practice alone.

He's sprawled out on the forest ground, listening to the chirping of birds. The feeling of sunlight penetrating the leaves and poking at his skin. It must be morning now... Shinichi can hear the whispers of the wind, tickling the leaves and the branches... mingling with footsteps that came near.
Huh.
The footsteps were light. Possibly a light weight person, a kid, or a really skinny female. Too noisy to be a shinobi. Or one that didn't care about stealth. Maybe inexperienced. The grip on his walking stick slackens. Without getting up, or turning on his side, he speaks up.
"You wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is go hang out in nature? You're weird."
Of course, it was quite contradictory coming from the man on the ground. But the apartment is demolished, he had a... Sho-chan freakfest, and he needed to go train his senses. Besides, sleeping in a bed in the Senju Estate on his first day back in the village was the last thing he was in the mood for. He was still way too used to sleeping with his back mingling with the earth.

Saito's eyes suddenly widened as he looked to suddenly see the man, his long bangs swiftly moving about. The boy was rather surprised, his almost flinched. However, that was illogical. By his posture, the man was rather aged-- blind? The young student also noted the cane. Yep~
That would lead him to believe that this man was simply a hermit? No. He seemed to be criticizing his nature walk. He may have been a ninja once. Saito only thought this because he wasn't walking very loudly-- for him to simply hear him was impressive to say the least. The young Yakedo smiled, if only a little.
"I was starting my day early~ To learn a jutsu.", Saito replied, his voice young and calm yet apathetic as usual. "I'm a student in Konoha."
"I'm Saito Yakedo. It's nice to meet you, sir.", he finished, walking towards the man.

LV. 40 | Experience: 0/8000 | Hp: 520 /520 | Cp: 720/720 | MHp: 2200/2200 There was a bittersweet smile on his face. But the... boy, definitely a boy from his voice, wouldn't be able to see it from the mask on his face.
"Shinobi, huh?"
He feels the footsteps near. The surname isn't one that particularly rings in the back of his mind. Not a notable shinobi clan, maybe even from a civilian family. Either way, the child wasn't from a family that would push him to take up a... huge responsibility. No, the boy was probably doing it of his own volition.
"Why would a kid like you want to take that path?"
It was a question he constantly asked after losing his eyes. He's asked his current self, he's asked Sho-chan, and he's asked his four year old self. Especially his four year old self, time after time after time. Out of all the paths you could've taken, teacher... artist... why a tool? His current self easily answered, "To protect the people I love. To protect what Seiji loved." So did Sho-chan... once upon a time, when he was wearing the hitai-ate around his neck. But his four year old self? ... why?
"Don't you know what you're getting into, you stupid little kid?"
Partially to his younger self. Partially to the kid. His younger self didn't really have anything on the fight for in those days. Not like now. Shinichi feels something blocking the sunlight. The boy must be very close now.

The boy walked closer, finally stopping. The man didn't even return his greeting. Saito huffed, crossing his arms. The man had no manners. Saito truly looked for that as a first impression. He enjoyed the company of manners and elegance. Especially when meeting someone--
The Yakedo looked up, his little arms still crossed. This man seemed rather bitter. Could his blindness have something to do with it? Wait-- why was he even wearing such a mask. His train of thought was halted as the man questioned his nindo. "I have no want. My mother wished me to protect this village~ She left me with her will...", the student trailed off.
His voice wasn't sad, no. It should never be. His mother was a great woman, and a true citizen. She never wanted another mother to suffer like she had, he would do his best to protect her dying wish...
"I understand the risks~ but my life is most important saving this village.", he smiled in a simple manner, tilting his head.

LV. 40 | Experience: 0/8000 | Hp: 520 /520 | Cp: 720/720 | MHp: 2200/2200 Mmm... so his mother died while the kid was in an early age, huh? Not surprising. This was a shinobi village after all. People die all the time, but it didn't make the loss any less painful. As for his own mother, well... he couldn't exactly say he knew what she wanted. Or what she looked like. Or what her voice sounded like. He could only pretend. The what ifs were nice to think about, but they hurt just as much as the truth.
"Oh? You say you understand the risks?"
At this, Shinichi picked himself off the ground and allowed his chakra to flare. It wasn't anything to brag about, not after neglecting it for many years. But the kid should be able to understand that such an action implied that he wanted to fight.
"So you're willing to give up your life."
Just like Seiji.
"But do you realize what you're also doing?"
The walking stick was pointed accusingly in the direction of the boy's voice, and while the object was blunt, it could hurt if it was in the right hands.
"Enlighten me. Tell me what you're getting into with your actions. That jutsu you're going to train... let's see it. If you can't learn it by noon, it means you aren't serious about becoming a shinobi. And to save your mother the grief, I'm going to kill you."
No, he wouldn't really. This was just a stimulation of a dangerous situation. But if the kid was serious about becoming a shinobi, a threat like this should be nothing. He should be able to look death in the eye and understand what he was getting into.

Saito's eyes widened as stood still. This man was crazy... completely unstable. He couldn't tell if he was lying. But then-- did it truly matter? Saito looked at the tip of the cane, raising his hands subconsciously. He wasn't joking, and if he was, Saito wasn't exactly ready to test his bluff. The Yakedo simply nodded.
"I realize that I will take lives...", he replied. They took lives and preserved them. He could imagine what he'd see, but it bothered him little. Of course people grieved over the loss of someone, it was human. His goals were simple, to become a great shinobi.
He needed to learn the Kawarimi regardless-- so just speed it up some? The boy smiled and placed his hand behind his head. This was going to be troublesome. "If I manage to pass, will you tell me why how you lost your sight?", he replied with a question of his own.
He blinked, the mental images of the scroll in his head. Kawarimi jutsu. The body-replacement technique was a technique a ninja employed to replace oneself with a nearby object to create a diversion for a counter-attack. This mean he'd need to use full speed to trade his place with another object, possibly when the user blinked-- or looked away....
He sighed-- wow. That did not seem novice....
The Kawarimi didn't require hand-signs, it was simply high-speed to trade place-- then henge to the object while trading. This had to be fast, or he'd just look stupid. There was a point of speed where the average human eye could not detect movement~
