"Someone at the highest level of ability. Well...just under a sensei's level, I suppose. I know there are a few things about my elements that only myself and my shojiki know." Nyl sat back down, smiling. "So. Tell me what you know already."

"What do I know? Eh, let's see..."
Iri places one hand on the table and runs the other through her red hair. "I can manipulate air currents, produce varying kinds of wind gusts, and even use wind manipulation to fly just as well as I do with my wings. I've developed four more complicated ideas; I think you might call them jutsus or something like that. One of which was a failure and another one has yet to be tested. The other two were successes."

"Well, come on." Nyl got up again, holding open the kitchen door and motioning to the front one. "I want to see this. If you're not too tired, of course."

"I'm not too tired to give a few demonstrations."
Iri strides through the kitchen door and out into the main room. She makes for the front door. As she walks, Iri says over her shoulder, "Anything specific you want me to do?"

"The two things you said were successful, for starters." Nyl followed her, hestating just slightly before walking out the front door. "We could do this on the roof, if you wanted."

Iri nods in acquiescence and flaps her way onto the roof of the dojo. Once there, she takes a moment to summon up a bit of her chakra. "There's something I should tell you. While I had two successful techniques, one of those was a little too successful. It drained me of most of my energy and I ended up passing out in the middle of the woods. The other one isn't so dangerous, though, and much easier to control."
(( Hate to say this, but I need to be logging off. Finish this tomorrow? ))

((Spiffy!))
Nyl jumped up onto the roof with her. "I really don't know if I consider passing out successful. Still, show me what you have."

Iri slowly inhales to gather air into her lungs and steady herself. Both hands come up to clasp together before her face in concentration. When she exhales, all of her concentration becomes centered around the task at hand. Her violet eyes suddenly loose focus as she becomes less aware of her surroundings.
Part of the flow of chakra in Iri's body diverts from its natural course. It flows instead to the organs and other body parts included in her respiratory system. Nasal passages, trachea, larynx, bronchial tubes, lungs, and even the smallest bronchioles and air sacs become strengthened and reinforced by chakra. Once that's done, Iri inhales once more. The air that enters her lungs is met by a part of the energy that Iri had earlier diverted. The chakra mingles with the air to form a potent mixture. A few moments later, Iri kneels down on the roof and braces her body. Her mouth forms an "o" and she releases the chakra-enhanced breath in a slow, steady, and concentrated stream. This is the same process Iri performed right before Reeve found her unconscious against a tree. The only difference is that Iri pooled much less air and chakra into her lungs to protect against the effects of excessive chakra use.
As the breath leaves her lungs, the chakra laced within it entices still more currents of air to join the miniature gale. Though it doesn't have the punch of the original version, it's still enough to rip leaves and a handful of limbs off of a nearby tree and knock Iri onto her backside.

Nyl watched silently, grinning just slightly as Iri finished. "That was very interesting. What else is there?"
She knew it might annoy Iri that she hadn't really commented on the action, but for now, she'd have to deal with it.

Iri gets to her feet with a little groan. Her head feels a little light, but her only other trick doesn't take much work. She straightens her posture and resumes her previous stance. Once again she inhales and exhales to center her concentration. Iri's worked on this one a little more, though, so she doesn't lose focus on her surrounding like before.
The leaves falling from her gale breath catch Iri's attention. Without her fans, they will have to do. She inhales again, sending out a little chakra when she exhales. The tip of her right wing makes a gesture and the chakra streams forth. A wind current gets picked up along the way. The chakra-laced wind gathers an armful of falling leaves. Iri's wing gestures again. The wind begins to guide the leaves through a series of intricate aerial patterns.
As the wind and leaves dance through the air, Iri says, "When I do this, I typically use tessen instead of leaves. It doesn't take as much concentration as my last trick, and much less energy. I could use it in varying ways, too."

"Hmm." Nyl folded her arms, tilting her head thoughtfully. "Can you do it without using your wings? You don't have to demonstrate; just an answer will do." She sat down, right there in midair, waiting for an answer.

Iri nods as she keeps up her trick. "I could do it just as easily without my wings, but doing so helps me to concentrate. The position of my hands achieves the same purpose of focusing myself. It's all just a matter of habit."
