He frowned, thinking about it.

She was right. It was like when you are looking for something like your keys, desperately searching everywhere, even though they are right in front of you - all you had to do was stop and see...

He tried to focus on the thought of the statue of Sleipnir, his totem animal. The little black stone horse, with it's eight legs and flowing mane, trying to get the image into his head as he let his eyes unfocus...

...And slowly, with much concentration, he managed to get his eyes to return to normal, the smoky leylines fading to only leave Hono'o in the bath across from him, playing with her new toy.

"I...I think i have it..." He said uncertainly, lifting his hand to rub his eyes, the orbs tired from having to focus on such color in such a small amount of time - before he looked to Raven, his gaze narrow. "You mentioned Max - did you teach him this ability?"

Again? "What do you mean, again? Is that how he messed up his arm?" He asked curiously, reaching over to turn the hot water tap on, the bathtub beginning to fill with steaming hot water, replenishing the water they were already soaking in.

No point being pruney and cold.

"I could imagine..." He muttered quietly.

Maximos was such a unique creature. It was probably why he found himself so at odds with him at times - he was just so different sometimes. Like the rules of this universe didn't apply to him.

"So you were the one to teach him how to use his Spirit Eye?" John asked. That damn eye....Maximos has a tendency to shut his good eye and let his Spirit Eye watch out for John when they fought, spying him through the wreckage he generally created when they battled. Maybe if he got Raven to teach him that sight....he could figure out a way to counter it! Or, at least, level the playing field a little...

"What else can you teach, Hono'o?" John asked, sitting up in the water, the droplets falling past the suds around him and over his tanned skin, his scars warping their progress. "I'm...I'm not very well endowed in the magic department...maybe with some tutalege, you can rectify that?"

He had to admit....it would be nice to be able to teleport, or fashion clothes out of thin air, and other things he'd seen her do...

John rolled his eyes and grinned at her insinutation, chuckling as he leant forward to grab one of her feet from the water, putting it up between his knees as he began to massage it, running his thumbs up the arch of her foot slowly.

"That all sounds cool....I...that heart thing....stuff to do with electricity in others.....it sounds so familiar....but I want to do the things you can do. Teleport, make things appear out of thin air, all that cool stuff! Light manipulation, pft..." He scoffed a little as he gave her foot a squeeze, putting pressure on the pads of her feet just beneath her toes, making them dance a little as he did. "...Whats a bit of light going to do to someone?"

And he'd never hear the end of it from Max. Yeesh...

John scoffed a little. "Light magic doesnt work as well as it used to on Maximos...and the kids these days with their 'Solar Flare' attacks just irritate me..." He muttered, dropping her foot to bring his hands up to his face, fingers splayed and eyes wide as he said the words, mimicking the anime movement of blinding one's opponant with a flash of light.

He took her foot back up and continued the massage, rolling her heel around with the palms of his hands, pouting as she shot his teleportation idea down. "Dammit...well, at least it would be nice to be able to pull stuff out of thin air. Or maybe it would be easier to simply create a tee-shirt from magic. Might use up some of my reserves, but..."

He narrowed his eyes, trying to focus on the thought of Sleipnir. He even muttered the word, as if using is as a word of power. "Sleipnir.....Sleipnir..."

Slowly, as if the world was a magic-eye drawing, the leylines began to come into view. He had to be careful and concentrate hard - he looked down to Raven for a second, watching her coo as he massaged her foot, and lost focus, the leylines vanishing as he was distracted. Finding his focus again, he managed to pull the world into line in his eyes. It was actually a little distressing having everything covered in a mutlicolored haze, but he learnt a neat trick - closing his eyes made the distress go away. All he could see then was the leylines and the magic itself - he could see Hono'o's sparkling body outlined by her mutlicolored magics right in front of him, her foot raised before him to be held by his static-filled hands.

"You look gorgeous..." He whispered - before he lost it, the image fading again, causing him to curse in frustration.

"Well, that definately sounds easier..." John said as he closed his eyes again, scrunching up his face as he thought of the eight-legged beast again, the magics of the world swimming into the darkness around him slowly, like black smoke fading from his view. He shifted his head, looking down with his magic sight to see Hono'o's other foot under the water, the water looking like shimmering gel.

Reaching down with a static filled hand, he grasped this other foot and lifted it out of the water, watching the droplets of magic fall down the multi-colored leg. He ducked his head around, inspecting her foot with his second-sight, looking like he was dodging a fly with his eyes closed.

He began to rub her foot after his little inspection, his sight wavering slightly as he began to work the arc with his thumbs. He got it back, though, and he scrunched up his face again as he tried to think of something. "I'm going to try something now....you might get a bit of a zap, just tell me if you dont like it..."

Slowly, the static in his body began to rise, and the water held a slight charge which flowed through her before going back into him. He paused for a moment, seeing if she could handle it - the charge was nothing, enough to make the hairs on her arms and the nape of her neck stand on end, but he had to remain cautious - one wrong move and he'd give her a good jolt.
