EDIT: The following takes place in a past time frame

Takeshi looked about the area to see how he would be getting back across the river. There was no bridge and there he was not yet strong enough to knock down a tree, even with ninjutsu. It occurred to Takeshi that his only option was to again swim across the river to the other side. "Man, but I just did that! Ugh," he thought to himself. Takeshi was not in favor of doing something he had just done, or at least the same way he had done it. Takeshi came to the conclusion that if he was to cross the river again, he had to put some kind of twist on it, something that would provide some form of challenge.

Takeshi had already grown strong with his recent training, so he felt like having only a small amount of extra weight wouldn't prove much of a challenge. No, instead, he upped the ante and found to good sized rocks. They didn't weigh as much as he would have liked but they would have to do. "Now, what am I going to do with these rocks?" he pondered. Holding them in his hands would not do at all, as they would slip out from his grip in the strong current. "Maybe around my ankles..." the thought and looked around for something that he could use to hold the rocks to his ankle. A quick look about his location showed a rope that was being used in a tire-swing. He climbed up the tree the tire-swing was tied around, and undid the knot-work, causing the tire-swing to fall to the ground. He climbed back down and undid the rope work around the tire, so that he had all of it to use. It was enough to tie the two rocks around his ankles, and he soon found himself wading back into the cold, river water.

As Takeshi began to swim, he found that the rocks wiggled around too much, and that trying to paddle himself with his feet would be impossible without causing the ropes to come undone. So with the sheer strength in his arms, Takeshi swam out into the open water. Soon enough, he again found himself approaching the same current that had caused him so much grief already. His swimming training was going much better than last time.

EDIT: The following takes place in a past time frame

Takeshi was surprised with his progress thus far. He had ten pounds strapped to his ankle and couldn't use his legs to swim at all, yet he was swimming just fine, perfectly even. Takeshi didn't want to jinx himself, but he thought that he might be too strong for this training. It seemed to him that crossing the river's current at its strongest point would be the test for him.

Takeshi swam as hard as he could, and it proved to be not that difficult for Takeshi to swim across the river to the other side of the current. He was surprised that he had gotten so far with ten pounds tied to his ankle and not being able to paddle with his legs. Still, he didn't want to argue with this success so far. Training was training, after all. So he continued to swim across the river. The opposing shore was within reach, only a third of the way left.

A yawn broke the night's loving silence as Saito raised his arms, closing his eyes. He stretched as his arms were in the air, and finally brought his little palms to his shorts, still gazing at the night's sky. What a day. He'd been so gifted, like never before. He met such great ninja, such heroes. Saito sometimes enjoyed these walks. These were his nature walks, he observed and respected the environment that had been so kind to Konoha. He couldn't do this in Suna.

A weak smile came upon him. Ahh~ the trees were so beautiful this time of the year. He slowly moved over a fallen branch, grazing the trunk as he looked about. He'd entered the dense area. Generally the boy liked to move slowly here. The last time he attempted to speed through this area, his face decided it'd be best to try and eat bark at the highest physical speed his body could muster.

Young Saito giggled, looking up to hear a shuffle. His eyes widened. Woah~ He hadn't noticed such a child before, and from the looks of it. He wasn't of Konoha. Minoru.

Saito, raised a hand. "Foreigner! It's a pleasure.", Saito yelled, waving a bit. He'd never seen such stylings. He assumed he was a traveler, possibly another reverend of nature? No matter, he wasn't afraid. Trespassers were rather rare, mainly because Zephyr's family did quite a job keeping it safe...

Minoru sat in the middle of a small clearing, waiting for the other boy to come closer. Whether he knew it or not, Minoru had led him here by rustling leaves to get his attention.

Foreigner the boy had said. The words bore into Minoru worse than any blade. Barbarian. Outsider. Heretic.

Minoru glared at Saito, his face paint only serving to make his eyes appear almost feral with the low light. This forest wasn't for the other people. They lived nice and safe in boxes of metal and wood. It was inhuman to consider that.

"What do you want," he said bluntly in his fractured accent. One day he would learn to speak like them, but until then he still sounded far too foreign. "I hope you haven't come to my home to waste my time. Many creatures live out here at night. The Wyld punishes transgressions against her."

Minoru looked at the few sun rays breaking through the canopy with some measure of interest. The Wyld was near. Somewhere nearby he was being watched by her, in all her glory. But she only appeared when someone was disturbing her...

Saito.

HE had done something to upset the Wyld.

But he didn't know what would make the Wyld happy. Perhaps time would tell.

(This takes place in a future time-frame.)

Saito's beautiful eyes widened, as he raised a brow, only a bit. This kid didn't seem to enjoy company well, The Yakedo's smile was now a nervous one. Minoru wasn't of any clan he'd heard of, apparently he was also quiet easy to upset. The boy looked around. "Wyld? By definition the Wyld is a crater on the surface of the moon. Your usage of the term escapes me...", the boy said, looking down, examining the leaves...

"I'm sorry if I've offended you.", Saito said finally, as if to give up. The boy was worried that he'd upset some sort of manner Minoru may have expected. This-- Wyld-- in the term he seemed to use it. He did not seem to be a worshiper of the sky...

Only a moment would answer such questions...

"You mock me Saito. The Wyld is watching, and you would do well not to mock it as well. Luna is not the Wyld."

Minoru leaned forward, a devious, predatory look on his face. With the light fading he looked almost... primal. "What's the matter Saito? Are you afraid of something?" Minoru said roughly.

Minoru hated unwelcome guests, but guests that disrespecting the master of the free world... That was quite another. If Saito wasn't a member of the village that had accepted him, Minoru would have made sure that he hadn't left this forest alive. But that wasn't acceptable now. For now, Minoru would let the minor transgressions pass. Unless the Wyld told him to take action. Then he would strike without mercy or pity.

"You would do well to respect the Wyld. It is always watching and listening to you. It knows everything, and it's watching us right now..."

Saito looked around, ahh~ So it was his religion, he nodded his head, if only a little, as if to show respect for it. However, he scoffed at such things. Such things amazed him, the idea of mystical being, gods, were so illogical. Astronomical anomalies with an existence so subjective, they could hardly even be considered realistic ideas to him...

He slowly moved his palm out, sighing a bit. "You must mistake my humanity for someone else's. Fear is illogical, simply a remnant of evolution...", he blinked. The boy was truly emotionless at moments where his logical side ruled. Rarely he'd be otherwise. This day had been special, he'd let his child come out. However as the excitement moved away, he began to regain his composure.

"Do not impose your beliefs on us. It's quite atrocious. I was simply stating the definition of Wyld I've read of in the Konoha libraries.", the boy finished, moving his hands over his bangs, readjusting his hairpin as the wind moved over his body.

"You talk as if there are alternatives to the Wyld. I don't impose anything. You choose not to listen at your own peril. Although you should look up the being known as Nemesis. I do believe that is how she is known around these parts. Perhaps you know the Wyld by that name?"

Minoru began chanting wildly, the sun making the clearing look almost otherworldly. He stood up; his shadow falling onto Saito from the way the sun fell behind him.

"There are places where logic is illogical. Where evolution cannot save you. Where no matter how many times you tell yourself that what you are seeing isn't real, you know in your heart that it is. This is one of those places, and you would do well to understand that."

Minoru sent up another prayer to the Wyld, praying for Saito's health, that she wouldn't smite him in her fury. Of course Saito probably though he was some crazy demon-worshipper, chanting in another language as he was.

After a minute, Minoru stopped and sat back onto the ground. He leveled his gaze on Saito, his eyes full of pity. "I have asked that your sins be relieved. Please do not anger her further. For she is not as far away as you seem to believe."

Saito placed his hands in his pockets while looking at Armads, his beautiful green eyes glinting as the sun reflected off them. He looked down, the boy didn't seem to understand what Saito was getting it. Logic couldn't be illogical, that was an oxymoron of sorts. In his heart.. his heart was silent most of the time. It didn't care. The young student looked back as Minoru started chanting like a wild-man. He couldn't tell exactly what language the boy seemed to be speaking. So he was praying for Saito? The young Yakedo didn't quite understand why Minoru--

It was pointless trying to reason with this.

"I can't say I've heard of your Wyld. Also..", he started in his usual calm voice, looking about then to Minoru, "I don't see any Wyld. In fact, I can also say that my heart isn't feeling much of anything right now."

The young boy sighed, looking down and slowly started walking away. This boy was rather delusional. Why did Konoha permit such people...

Minoru smiled and watched Saito walk. "You cannot walk away from the truth Saito. One day you will be forced to reckon with the Wyld, and it will not be happy with you. I wish you well in your future endeavors."

Minoru wished that there was more that he could do to prevent Saito's eventual damnation, but it was a path that he was going to have to walk alone. The Wyld determined Minoru's path in life. Perhaps one day Saito would join Minoru's path, but he wouldn't force him to do it. Forcing someone to walk a certain path wasn't the Wyld's way.

Nor was it the Wyld's way to deal with transgressions harshly. Cruel as she may be, she was always fair. She was the one who brought balance to the world, who brought down mortals and gods alike when they grew too mighty. Saito would find that out the hard way one day. Hopefully it wasn't at the end of a sword.

EDIT: Swimming training takes place in a past time frame.

Takeshi was so close to completing the swimming training; he could see the shoreline, and his clothes. Takeshi had made it through the hardest part of the river: swimming through the strongest part of the river's surface, so all he had to do was just really float over to the shore. But that wasn't what the training was for, he couldn't improve his strength by floating. And on top of that, the current, although minimal at this point, would have swept him down the river before he reached the shore, much farther down than where is clothes were. That wasn't part of this plan. Takeshi paddled hard towards the other shore, towards his goal. He knew that it shouldn't have taken as much effort as he was putting into it, but Takeshi wanted to go the extra mile. Unfortunately, it seemed that crossing the strongest part of the current had been more taxing than Takeshi realized. WIthin moments, he found that he had expended to much energy, and began to tire. Soon he found it harder to keep paddling forward, and decided against continuing for the time being. Even floating in the river was taking its toll, but at least Takeshi was able to stay afloat. And with ten pounds of rocks tied to his ankle, that was at least something.
