She felt her cheeks redden at those words. "I was?" She asked softly, burying her face against him. "God, I'm going to be a terrible wife. You get hurt and instead of being at your bedside, I fall asleep."

Clow pulled away a bit and put a finger under her chin and then his thumb on it, and lifted her head slightly.
"Hey...You're going to be great. And a great mother too. We all need our time of relaxation...It's fine."
He smiled and then pressed his lips against hers.

Iri guides the naginata through a one-handed swoop. At the end of the horizontal arc, the shaft slips free of her hand. The weapon spins away, its blade striking the ground with an audible thunk.
A sigh escapes Iri's lips. She reaches up to wipe a few beads of perspiration from her brow. Forgot about that problem. The grip was something I never took the time to fix. It would be a good idea to take care of that...
Iri strides over to the naginata and tugs it free of the earth. She wipes the muddy blade clean on the grass, thinking as she does. To improve the grip, she can do one of three things. The most difficult and time consuming solution would be to carve shallow grooves in the wood. Iri isn't exactly an expert on wood carving, but the wooden exterior of the shaft is easily replaced, so she isn't too concerned about messing up a few times. If that doesn't work out, she can wrap cloth around the places her hands are accustomed to falling. Or she can just wear gloves or bandages on her hands to prevent perspiration from making the smooth surface slippery.

"You're lying to save my feelings, I'm flattered." Nami grinned into his shoulder, not releasing her hold.
"Alright, fine. If you're so much better now then you can carry me to bed. You haven't been there in weeks."
[[g'night everyone, we're going to bed XD]]

Tutsumi was still waiting for people to answer his challenge, but it almost surprised him that hardly anyone had heard of it, even though it included every single member of the Academy.
"Tsh...I should have sent a messenger."

Yuki came out of no where behind Tutsumi as she placed her hands on his shoulders and grinned to him, "Why, Hello there. What is this about a messenger?"

The wings on Iri's back give an indifferent shrug as she moves to retrieve her fans, the naginata balanced on one shoulder. I'll just wear gloves when I use this thing. That'll increase my grip well enough.
Her weapons collected, Iri starts toward the dojo's porch. The woman glances at Tutsumi's note as she reaches the first step. A thought gives her pause. The idea of signing up is tempting. Why else would Iri make her home in a dojo if not to test herself against skilled fighters? But would the stranger be willing to engage in a fight meant only to test her, or simply slaughter someone so green. Iri has no idea of the man's personality or intentions, so she can't pass any judgement on the matter. Best to wait for a chance to speak to the stranger himself and work something out than blindly put her name down.
Iri gives her head a shake and walks into the dojo.

((Tut's by the fountain in the front of the Academy.))
Tutsumi turned towards Yuki and smiled, taking one of her hands into his own.
"Oh...just tired of waiting for a fight..."

"Mmmh... I see. I can go slooth around later and see whom is interested." She cooed softly, leaning against him lazilly and letting him take her hand. She was obviously quite comfortable.

(( Am I alone in here? ))
This isn't so bad...
Iri holds up her hands and checks the fit of her fingerless gloves. For being roughly woven cotton and very old, they aren't bad. In fact they're pretty comfortable. And they should increase the amount of friction between her hands and the shaft of her naginata. Hopefully she won't have to worry about her hands slipping again.
The naginata and two plain tessen are laying beside Iri on her bed. She places one tessen in each pocket of her sundress. Iri stands and balances the naginata on her right shoulder. A quick glance of the bedroom tells her that nothing else needs to be done.
Iri strides out of her room, through the main hall, and out onto the dojo's porch. One hand shields her eyes from the sun as she looks out over the front plaza expectantly.

Violet eyes settle on the stranger and Yuki. Iri glances from the two of them to the note on the porch. She reads the script with interest. Tutsumi Hybrin... Don't know a thing about him, but my curiousity is growing and my patience is wearing thin. Besides that I can't stand by and be cautious forever.
Iri steps down off the porch and approaches Tutsumi and Yuki. She gives Yuki a friendly smile before focusing on Tutsumi. "Nice to meet you. My name's Iri. May I ask you about that note you left at the front of the dojo?"
