I do, and I do need to learn more about their ideas. Hence, me going to the library to further research on their ideas at times. 3nodding

I wish learning didn't require so much research and effort. It's much more fun learning through video games. Pretty much all my geographical knowledge is thanks to nation-building strategy games. xp

I know one day you'll amaze me!

Some of the stuff that I've learned in literature were due to fanfic reviewers. xp

I've learned some things from fanfic reviewers, such as how to prevent having Mary Sues, how to differentiate fanfics from spin-offs and how to check for plotholes. 3nodding

I had read the fanfics that were being critiqued as well as the critiques. :3

For a second I thought I wasn't alone in having written fanfics. xp I suppose reading them and the critiques would help with learning writing.

Well if you're writing for fun, all you need to do is just understand the basic aspects of a fic and then write. It shouldn't matter what other people think, even if they intend to critique you. The idea of a fanfic is to express a personal idea of something else and shouldn't be influenced by other opinions. biggrin

I pretty much used it as an excuse to not have to heavily edit my work like I would for a class. It made my writing less impressive, but it was much more fun to write when I wasn't so high maintenance. razz
