"Help me, no not really, however it seems as though I can help you. The look on your face is unmistakable. You're waiting for death to grasp you in it's long, icy fingers. I was thinking... you know... for old times sake, to grant you that last request. What do you think... lover."
His voice was cold and as sharp as the gauntleted fingers and clicked against each other, ready for whatever may happen in the coming moments. It seemed all she had to defend herself was a pathetic sword and shield of the medieval times. Was this some kind of joke?
"Not to sound too cold, if that's even possible, but why are you back? I was sure you had left for good."
His head snapped away from Heswina for a brief moment to focus on the monstrosity of KB. What now?

Glancing over her shoulder, at the sound of Xol's name being echoed against her own soft murmur, Heswina turned and started to walk away. Xol's business, Xol's problems. She didn't even so much as respond to his question, or offer, which ever it had been.
Her psi talents were either masked really well, or supressed to the point of almost nonexistance. Perhaps she was willing to let Xol strike her, as she turned her armor plated back to him, or perhaps she was setting up a trap. After all, old habits die hard.

The machine KB had come to a stop, finnaly. As if bored, the multiple lenses upon it looked about the forest. One had been damaged, but that'd be fixed in due time. In any case, it watched Heswina leave with something that might be defined as a curious nature.
Standing not far from Xol, the shadowy figure that was KB held Eva. Kobei would kill him for what he planned to do, but Kobei wasn't around. Where she was hadn't occurred to him, until that very moment. "There can only be one, Xol." KB said matter-of-factly, the mechanical voice devoid of much tone other than what might be considered contempt. No matter, every word it said was spoken that way, for the tone didn't vary at all.

"There can be only one? What is this? If you're referencing some sort of power heirarchy, then yes their can be only one... but that one is always supported by the lesser. You cannot have the tip of a pyramid without all the blocks beneath it can you?"
Xol looked from KB to Eva then back to KB. He had a bad feeling about what was going to come next. Call it a premonition or what have you, but it wasn't something that he was going to like.
"You didn't plow through the woods and stumble upon me totally by accident KB. What do you want? Make it quick, I have a comfortable spot on the couch waiting for me..."
His mouth curled into that of a slight grin, one fang poking out over his bottom lip.

"You think too much." He replied, before continueing. "No doubt you are aware of Mastema's flaws? That is, the mate and the offspring." KB seemed to regard the family coldly, though he did like Eecheb. In any case, KB was betting on several factors, one of which being that Xol would as always come to hate serving Mas. After all, no one was Mas's equal, at least not in the eyes of the coward who'd nearly destroyed Tegral.

Mate and offspring must have meant Nana and the children, no doubt. Why would he call them flaws though? If anything they were a weakness, but even then, Mas had been more active since having a family then he ever had before them. For now he would humor KB and see where this conversation would lead.
"Hmmm... well yes of course. Having a family could be considered a flaw I guess, why... what's your point KB?"

"A Master and his dog are friends, a Master and a slave are not. Mastema seeks servitude, for he already has companionship. The flaws, which are the mate and offspring, are of little consequence. From within his walls they grow, though as pieces on the board they are useless. That is to say, Mastema either finds joy in them, or they are trophies. In any case, as mentioned before there can only be one, Xol. I have no intention of being that one, or pilfering Mastema's trophy case." KB's little rant had gone on tirelessly, the mechanical voice chiming out in it's usual tone, without fail. KB still stood, not yet making mention of Eva. Though his words might seem a bit confusing, they made perfect sense to him. At this point however, the main course of action would be securing Mastema's demise. KB had long since lost any reason to destroy the flaws. KB would not openly suggest Xol take Mastema's place, though it seemed KB wanted Mas gone and wouldn't mind Xol there. However, in the past KB had always been dripping in deception.

Despite the complexity of the point KB was trying to get across, Xol understood. The simple fact though... was he didn't care.
"KB, KB... KB. Perhaps, if you would have come to me with such a tempting offer yesterday, I would have been more receptive. I must regretfully inform you though that I have no intention of turning on Mastema untill he gives me a reason to."
His grin broadened. KB really thought he was talking to the same Xol from months ago. What a sad awakening this would be.
"Listen to me carefully. I don't care who the head honcho is, or who's secretly calling the shots in the background. I just want to cause as much death and destruction as possible. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. This isn't about revenge or status or even power. This is about sullying myself with as much human, Angel, demon, elf, whatever beings blood, untill there is nothing more to kill."
The words he spoke were vicious and coated in an unmistakable cold malice. His fangs were elongated and eyes flashed black, black with sky blue corneas and dark crimson pupils.

Heswina, beyond ear shot and visual range, slumped against another tree. Her left eye twitched as she glanced back at the way she came. "Oh, just lovely." She murmured to herself as she eased the sword in it's scabbard. She had no intentions of fighting, but it was nice to be prepared. Her head was throbbing again, a sure fire sign that she needed to just relax and expell her thoughts. Hard to relax when you 'lover' was just a hundred and fifty, or so, yards away waiting to slit your throat.
She hadn't been able to actually see who the mechanical one was, since he posessed no mind to read it was pretty much pointless, and the child was a girl so that helped even less. Xol had thrown up his guard, as she'd figured he would have. Fool him once, shame on her, fool him twice, shame on him. Fool him thrice, well, with those walls she doubted she could fool him thrice. A battle against him would boil down to just raw combat skills, brute strength, and warrior's spirit. Scrubbing a gauntlet hand through her short golden hair Heswina sighed. "Just lovely."

"If that is your intent, then clearly you reside in the wrong realm. This place is all but fleshed out entirely. I have done away with that last socialized settlement that is noteworthy in the records books. D's mansion, though fortified, will crumble under the stress of a well-placed army. Even now, plans are being slowly made to rid this place of Mastema. As for death, you'll find none of that. Blood does not seep from drones, the children under lock and key, and even now the mate rests sick, and yet is cared for. Mastema has done nothing since the flaws came. Xol...I, KB, came and made the Dojo be removed. Me. When darkness relies upon me to bring death and destruction, it is quite clear someone isn't doing their job." Glancing down to Eva, KB chuckled. From behind the hood that covered his face, he still had a fairly good view of things. Not that he'd ever noticed Xol's eyecolor in the past. In any case, Mastema would either have to fall or be removed. KB had brought an army and crushed Mastema's pitiful defences. Only the wall that defied most forms of knowledge had saved Mastema. If Xol sought to kill, he'd find very little of it siding with a man who did nothing more than hide behind invincible shields and raise children.
Regardless of what KB though, he'd turned and begun to move towards the Citadel. His walk was slow, so that the drone could follow. It would, about ten or so feet behind him. He could teleport, but he didn't like to use magic on his drone companion.

"Don't be stupid KB, you know this is one of an infinite number of worlds, universes, realms, planes... once this one is conquered I will move to the next. Feeding off it's inhabitants and natural resources like a virus untill it to is hallow and devoid of life. And so the cycle will continue untill... heh, there is only one."
He turned, multicolored eyes burning into KB's back as he walked off with the little girl and the monstrosity ambering close. They were unmistakably making their way towards the Citadel. Looks like Mastema would be cashing in one of his 'favor' chips earlier than expected.
"If you're going to the Citadel KB, which no doubt you are, know that I will be there to greet you. And not as an accomplice to help overthrow Mastema, but as a foe. A foe that will not hesitate to spill your blood in front of the girl, take apart your machine, nut by nut and bolt by bolt, but also a foe that will not hesistate to spill the blood of that little girl in front of your dying eyes..."
With those final words he was gone. Only a plume of dissolving black mist would meet KB's eyes if he happened to look back.

Eva tossed hrself over onto her stomach. She had awoken, not knowing why she had. Before the silver-haired man could leave, she peered over at him, her emerald slits making thier attention to him. She passed out soon afterward.

Heswina's soft sigh echoed in her ears against the quiet, empty, forest around her. There was a reason she was back, but she couldn't quite figure out what it was. She most definately had a reason to be here, aside from the revenge that was owed to her, but for some reason she couldn't quite grasp what it was.
She had enemies in abudences here, and not a single ally to outset the balance. Her powers, though formitable, were ignored as nothing more then petty side show tricks, shrugged aside by those who have absolutely no idea what kind of force she actually had. Regardless there was a reason she was here. Pushing herself off the tree she gently caressed the hilt of her sword as she started towards Mastema's Citadel again. Regardless...she would find that reason.

Ka'rinth had once again returned to the Black Company, he found himself often returning to this place. His mind was darkening as intent became a more focused blade than ever before. Two minds spoke in discord within his head and as he moved he planned. His dark energy was developing nicely, but it was time and past to disrupt the binding that he had been using to contain his earth magic during his initial training. He knelt solemnly beneath the darkened tree branches and as he did, he pressed his hands against his sides as he manipulated the dark energy within his body.
Earth caress the soles of my feet and bind me to your will again. Sinking fast yet rising up, let that once bound break free. A slight burst of dark energy shot from his sides and back before silence settled once more. It would seem as though nothing had changed, yet as he stood his feet were silent and not just quiet as he tread forward on a path only he could see. He had his goals, and his purpose, now it was time to begin collecting his tools. Straightening slowly, Ka'rinth gradually increased his pace through the forest until he was speeding towards his first target.

Shadow sat in a small clearing of the forest staring upward into the sky, he had just been remembering his experiences on the Harvester and as a result informing Ka'rinth about the information still available in his mind and the minds of some of his captive souls. He still had a teleporter for the Harvester, however he saw little reason for a return journey when between the two of them they had everything they would need to put some of his original plans in motion. First things first brother, we will be needing a place to work and some subjects to work on, I trust you left some of my bodies and yours intact and in stasis? The question was truly rhetorical as Shadow knew that Ka'rinth had fused all of the bodies together to create their previous form. However, he also knew that there were still older prototypes at his old tower which had become the Labyrinth when Ka'rinth had taken control. So with little else to do beside his random pauses for contemplation, Shadow headed off into the night once more, unable to remain still for too long.
