John growled internally - he'd forgotten those! Stupid! So much for being snoopy sweatdrop
Finishing off his plate, he placed it down besides the cassarole dish, kind of glad it was over - they should get a dog, so he could get fat from eating up these types of scraps. "Well, for a first attempt, it wasn't too bad....what would you like for dessert?"

Rae chuckled softly and finished off the vegetables before going over his question. "Ice cream?"
She politely held the plate out for him, hoping he would be kind and overlook the fact that she didn't eat the dead animal parts xp he had obviously forgotten that she was striving to be a good vegetarian.

"Ice cream it is. Cant stuff up ice cream!" He said with a laugh, taking her plate and bending down to give her a quick kiss on the cheek before scooping up the cassarole dish and heading out of the bathroom.
He understood that she didn't need to eat all of it, but there was a lot more meat in the leftovers then he'd thought - it was cooked right, wasn't it? His meat didn't taste that bad. Next time he'd make sure to cook it proper.
Dumping the dishes in the sink, he slid the cassarole into the fridge - maybe it'll be better tomorrow - and grabbed the icecream from the freezer, scooping it from the punnet into two bowls before dicing up some fruit - a little watermelon and honeydew, a few grapes and strawberries - to sprinkle in the bowls before cleaning up and taking them both back up to the bathroom, where he sat on the edge of the tub and held her bowl out for her.
"How's the water?" He asked - it looked inviting...

She happily took the bowl from him, cooing as she noted the fresh fruit. " Wet.. how about you join me and make a decision for yourself?" She swished a few of the bubbles with her elbow... but was mostly entranced by her ice cream whee ... she really was easy to please at times!

He grinned and stripped off swiftly, pulling his boots and socks off almost at the same time before ripping off his jeans and shirt, slipping into the warm water with a slow sigh, sitting so he was facing her, having to nudge her leg so it sat over his so he was more comfortable. "Oooh boy, this is good..." He moaned, grabbing his own bowl of ice cream and digging in - it was rare he had ice cream, and now he knew why - it was delicious!

Rae laughed softly and slouched into her bath as she rested her legs over his and ate her ice cream. "Mmhmm, delicious! Well... I think that we need to get some things done now that HoH is out of the way... I need to introduce you to Bren... and visit Nedy, and Max."

"Ah...yes, I suppose it is time for me to meet the kid..." John said nervously, sucking a strawberry quarter off his spoon and chewing it thoughtfully. He did not relish that encounter...Sam had been a lot more understanding then he'd thought, but he didn't want to be lured into a false sense of secuirty.
"You know where Nedy lives?"
He'd almost forgotten about the little woman - aside from when they had met in Durem, and received her letter, a lot had been happening. It would be nice to visit her, see how she's holding up.
He didn't say much about Max. Their last encounter had been...well. Fruitful would be the word to use really.

Rae blinked, a slice of grape and ice cream half way to her mouth. "I used too... but I think that her address is on the envelope, so we will find her.. should be a lot easier than looking for you was!" wink
She resumed happily eating her dessert, splashing one foot as she mentally hummed a little tune.

John grimaced slightly as he stuck his spoon into his mouth, before deciding to make light of the situation. "If i recall correctly, i found you, not the other way around!" He said, lowering his hand holding his spoon to flick some bubbles at her, the little globes settling on her nose and hair as it did, the giant Aesir smirking at a comfirmed hit.

Rae scowled and blew at the bubbles on her nose, her free hand protectively covering her bowel. "You found me.. but I was looking for you, I just didn't find you."

HonoRaven Rae scowled and blew at the bubbles on her nose, her free hand protectively covering her bowel. " You found me.. but I was looking for you, I just didn't find you." He smiled to her. "Thats nice to know...good to know someone was looking at least."He frowned a little as he finished off the rest of his icecream and put the bowl on the edge of the tub, slipping further into the warm water a little. "Wait...do you mean, look look, like you activately searched for me, or did you use magic? Coz even with my brain all messed up, it shouldn't be too hard to spot me..."With the type of magic Raven had access to - Maxi as well, for that matter - they should have found him easily...

"Well, you didn't have one of my feathers... so it wasn't all that easy you know... I don't exactly beat the streets much you know." xp She tended to stick out like a sore thumb, and attract all the wrong type of attention sweatdrop
She glowered and slunk down in the tub as she put another spoon full of ice cream in her mouth. "And my other types of magic aren't exactly great for sleuthing..."

"Bah, magic's overrated..." John muttered, lifting his hand up from the water to trace a rune into the air, the air sparkling and spitting with electricity as the rune held...until he started the next, then both fizzled out.
He let the hand drop back into the water with a sour look on his face. He'd been practising dilligently, but he was having trouble doing the mutliple runes...he could never focus on more then one at a time...

Rae squeaked and sat up as he drew the runes, twisting and turning to get a better look at them and then frowning as he lost the entire spell... that was dangerous! If he got to the point where his first rune held enough potential to activate properly but whatever other runes he had been adding had been limiters for that first rune then the entire thing could literally blow up in his face! "Why did you let it go?"
Raven set the bowl down on the side wide lip of the tub and leaned forwards so she could tap his temple... unlike with Samantha, Raven's shift in his sight would be painless, the world painted in lines and flows of color interpretations of power!
There was a wide spot of blue dust-like sparks where he had been drawing in the air. "See, you either need to follow through or ground the energy again, because you left a mess! You keep doing that and it could just build up like natural gas and eventually explode!"
"It is all energy, think of magic like electrical lines, the power flows from a generator of some sort." She tapped his chest, her finger a tracery of red, blue-green, black, and blue-white power like his own... all the colors managing to twist and flow together and yet still seeming to be at odds with one another. "When you start a spell you are flicking a switch, sending the power down lines, but an interrupted spell is like someone suddenly slicing through the power cord! The energy is still there, and depending on the strength of draw it will either spark, explode, or at the very least hurt someone if they accidentally touch the exposed wires while the line is still turned on!"
She did something, it wasn't anything physical.. no gestures or symbols drawn with a finger, it was more like a spider web thin trickle of energy from her pushed those dust mote particles of energy from his disrupted spell into the fine lines of energy that ran through the house, sending them back into the natural flow before her own power joined that flow. "You have to ground the line again, just turning off the switch doesn't remove the hazard, especially with the really high voltage lines!"
Demonstration apparently over she sat back in the water again, but she didn't turn off his second sight like Samantha had, she either expected him to turn it off for himself or to tell her that he didn't have a clue how to use that vision xp

"Because I can only focus on one rune at a time, once i start trying to focus on the other the first fizzles out..." He muttered, watching her as she leaned forward and tapped his skull.
It was like someone had put a filter over his eyes. Suddenly the lines were all around him, like they were sitting in a smokey room, the smoke glowing incandecently. He looked down to Raven with wide eyes and saw that her body contained a myriad of powers, almost all the colors of the rainbow.
"So I can't just cancel the runes....they need to be used properly, otherwise it can be danergous..." He muttered as he lifted his hands up out of the water. Now he could see the leylines, it was a little easier - drawing the sparks in the air, he focused on the powers around him, drawing it from the air to latch onto the first rune, keeping it fed as he drew the next one, then the next one, then the next one, each having a little trail going to the lines of power in the air...
...Before the magic finally came together, turning into a single red rose. Healthy, vibrant and short-stemmed with no thorns - a very specific conjuration he'd been working on. He held it out to her with a smile. "Its a lot easier once I can see the lines in the air...doing it without them feels like i'm trying to knit in the dark..."
The magic done, however, John waved his hands around, the leylines swishing about him. "Uh, how do you turn this off?" He asked, blinking hard - it was hard to see like this, which was a problem - either he used it to make magic easily - and was blinded in the process - or he didn't use it, and risked blowing himself up with shoddy magic.
