"Evening Fianna, Kieran." She laughed at Piper mocking Malik and then said, "Can you believe his nerve? If the skin on her arm doesn't work I'm sure you can take it from somewhere else, b*****d." No she wasn't very happy with the Tier'dal either. Damn man. Thought he could just use her as a bartering tool and she had been very uncomfortable when Laudi had taken such an interest in her. She looked at Piper and nodded, "Sure. Sounds like a good idea to me."

"Sometimes he really pushes it, doesn't he?" Shaking her head and running a hand through her hair she sighed lightly. "Well good. And I'm not telling him I'm goign out, and I'm not telling him it's with you and I'm not wearing chainmail and I don't care if he yells at me when he gets back and finds me gone because whenever I go out by mysaelf I end up hurt or lost or I bring things home, or somethign like that. So there." Oh she was being childish again, but she really didn't care...she hated being brushed off so easily and being treated as a child. Malik may of been older than her and he probably didn't know he was doing it when he did do it...but it was still aggrivating to all hell.

"Fine with me. He can be pissed off for all I care, I'd tell him to shove it. " Zahara chuckled, oh yes, Piper was pissed but then so was she. She still couldn't believe his nerve sometimes, the things he said adn did were just so annoying. He was nothing but a b*****d in her book but she knew better than to say that in front of Piper. The elf may be mad at him but that didn't mean she'd take too kindly to Zahara completely insulting him. Zahara had a feeling that au contraire Piper would actually defend the jackass. "He better get down on his knees and thank every god he worships for you every damn day of his miserable life.." she muttered so Piper couldn't hear, and said in drow so she didn't understand it. "So we're going riding. But Nightmare probably won't let me and I don't know how to ride..."

She looked over her shoulder and blinked as Zahara mumbled in dorw. Maybe she caught a word or two, but it was said too fast and low for her to get it. Shaking her head she led the drow to the barn where all five horses were beign lazy. "Nightmare won't let anyone ride her except for Malik. I can sometimes, but usually not...she likes to try and scare me. Adn there's no problem riding a Zephyr, I'll teach you." Pulling Nerian and Serino from thier stalls she walked them out of the stables as well as Zahara. "First thigns first, Zephyrs don't use tack. Hop up on him and twine your fingers into his mane, hold yourself steady with your knees. Dont' worry, you can't hurt them." WHy was she letting Zahara rde Serino? Because she knew Nerian would be far too skittish with Zahara, Piper would ride him herself.

Zahara followed along dutifully and smiled when she saw all the horses once again. Serino and Nerian were led out and Zahara immediately went to Serino and gently patted his nose and neck. "Serino and I have interacted once before, it should be alright." She listened to Piper's instructions and then did them. Throwing one leg gently over, after a bit of struggling managed to get herself on top of Serino and she dug her fingers into his mane and experimentally squeezed her knees. "Okay Serino..you and me boy, take it easy for me okay?" When she was steady she glanced at Piper as she got herself up on her own horse.

Giving Nerian a few pets she pulled herslf up effortlessly, seatring herself comfortably and petting him again, saying a few things in her own elvish to him, and to Serino as well. Basically explainging things. "Now, I'm sure your're noticing...feels like you're sitting on nothing. That's how a Zephyr feels when you ride them and when they do gallop and what not, you won't feel the motion, you won't even move with his motion. Quite different from a normal ride." A click of her tongue. "Serino, Nerian, let's go." Thus both took out at a gentle trot, just so Zahara could feel. "And they're hooves not touchign the groudn is normal. When they get tired they do."

Zahara hadn't noticed at first because she was too busy talking to Serino but once Piper said something she did indeed realize that it did feel like seh was sitting on nothing. It was rather odd. And filing away that their hooves don't touch the ground until they get tired. Got it. She nodded, "Okay.." And then Serino began to move and just like Piper said, she didn't feel it. "I could get used to this. This is rather nice." She looked back at Piper and then ahead watching as they moved over the ground. "Do I just tell him when I want to change speeds? Or is there a subtle signal I'm supposed to use?"

"Zephyrs are intelligent creatures, they can take commands or simple gestures. A click of the tounge, kick of the heels, a weight shift and posture change, really intelligent creatures. Serino also understands drow, and they both know surface elvish." Riding side by side with Zahara now she smiled at the small breeze that was kicked up by the horses' hooves as they rambled on without direction adn sans riding gear of any kind, personal or otherwise. Then a lauhg. "YEs nice indeed...saves on the sore a** problem of riding hours on end." Well this was indeed nice. "So, you live down here...anything exciting besides the oh so common violence?"

She laughed, "YEs that's definitely true. If you aren't sitting on anything you can't very well get a pain now can you?" A moment of silence as she experimentally nudged Serino. "Just a little bit faster please, not too much." Then she turned to Piper, "Well there's always the games but most of those end up violent too. Like when we used to play Dodge. That was fun until one of the girls ended up with eight legs...then we weren't allowed to play that anymore." She thought about it for a minute, "You know quite honestly, most of my life has been devoted to my studies. There's not really a lot of time for other things in a Drow's life. What about you?"

"Well that's not uncommon. Us surface elves have our studies for at least a century befor we're even considered adults. Though I never completes my studies, I left home before I was even one hundred." Which probably accounted for why she wasn't as adapt at some things that she should be. "Af far as fun...well I didn't have much honestly. When I played with other children at home, it was always some sort of good guys bad guys game. Since leaving it was random looting and thieving, and since Malik and coming to the Underdark...well he's been my fun I guess. He's the only one that's ever treated me as an equal down here to tell you the truth. Well till you came along that is. But...fun in little ways with him...joking and what not. Its a different definition of fun. Though I do climb the ocassional tree when I get the chance."

"Yes I left before I took my test to serve at Lloth's side though now I have to wonder if I really would have passed it or not." She considered what Piper said for a moment, mulling it over in silence, "Hmm, well i've never climbed a tree but I've played plenty of good guy bad guy games, believe me. Most of the games Drow children play have to do with real life things like defending yourself and learning to be alert and wary. You learn to watch all sides because a Drow who watches his back, meets death from the front." It felt good saying the long cherished saying that stated so much about the Drow race, a small taste of home really. "Were your parents really really upset that you had left?"

Piper chuckled slightly. "Well then I'll just have to teach you to climb a tree now won't I? May be a good thing to escape Malik...to my knowledge Malik doesn't know how to climb one either. He's never come up a tree after me before." Really, she'd never have him do it...infact when she climbed up anywhere he usually stayed on the ground and merely yelled at her or bribed her until she came down. THough a quiet little considering look for a moment. "I think my mother was more so than my father. I told Silvercrest I was leaving...I didn't tell Swiftfeather. She's thought that I was dead for the past half century. I had little contact with my father....but the past came back to bite me and well now here we are. I think it turned out well all things considering...and Malik and them are getting along." A quiet moment. "I take it when you left, your family was upset in a different way."

"You told your dad but not your mom." It wasn't a question merely a statement. "I'll be that didn't go over well with her at all." She too paused for a moment and reflected, "I'm sure my mother has completely erased me, probably won't even answer any inquiries about me if someone is foolish enough to ask. I shamed them, all of them and because of it I'm better off dead in their opinion. It's a strange feeling really, I can't go back home. Ever." It was the first time she'd actually said it out loud and it was strange to hear. "My father...well I don't know about him. He probably forgot about me since my mother most likely ordered him too. I wonder sometimes if seh even knows for sure who he is." She didn't respond to Piper's statement about teaching her to climb trees. It actually sounded interesting and if she could get away from Malik by doign it then she'd be more than happy to learn.

Piuper could of begged to differ with Zahara...but seh knew better. Drow society was different from her own...if they wanted to simply forget you and say you never existed, well then they will and you wouldn't have. "I used to say I couldn't go back home ever...I still believe that. But Malik seems to think different. He says he understands and I know he does...but sometimes I just think he doesn't completely see it all." Then again men were like that sometimes weren't they? Two elvish words and both Zeohyrs slowed to a stop under a tree. "You know what, I'll teach you to climb a tree, you help me with my drow. Malik's been teaching me in the evenings, but what with business and problems, there's not as much time for that as I would like."
