Kaserkin and back to the main topic lol.... i think that GW phased them out when it became possible to actualy feild paratroopers... which sounds amazingly cool... *thinking about it* ya friggin awsome There's quite a difference between Stormtroopers and an Elysian list, specifically the Elysian D-99 list. And now you know. (Somebody, please pick up on that trailing comment.)

Caleidah Kaserkin and back to the main topic lol.... i think that GW phased them out when it became possible to actualy feild paratroopers... which sounds amazingly cool... *thinking about it* ya friggin awsome There's quite a difference between Stormtroopers and an Elysian list, specifically the Elysian D-99 list. And now you know. (Somebody, please pick up on that trailing comment.) And knowing is half the battle. The other half is killing the ******** cunts. Elysians are a product of FW, not something that GW holds any sway over. The Elysian list found in IA3 (that is; Imperial Armour 3 - the Taros Campaign) is a Guard army (based on the previous codex) with Valkyries instead of Chimeras and Imperial Navy jets and bombers instead of tanks. A fun list that allows you to go Market Garden all the way. The D-99 list from IA4 (Imperial Armour 4 - the Anphelion Project) is themed around Elysian Tyrannic War veterans turned into a special forces army in service of the Inquisition. Each and every member of the regiment is a veteran with beefed up stats due to being a veteran and receiving special medical treatments. They are lower in number but pack a better punch, have access to Valks and Vultures along with sentry guns and some other little surprises. I play D-99, slowly building myself an over-strength platoon led by a captain and fully air mobile with plenty of Valks and Vultures flying in support. Hopefully I will pick up my third squad today, giving me the following army something I'll post up later. Digest the above first.

Elysians are awesome. Their uniforms are a bit of a tough cookie to paint right though, seeing as they wear one piece overalls with armour. I'm honoured that you are doing an entire squad based on my conversion. Good luck finding suitable pieces for silencers though. sweatdrop
Though I wonder when FW will crank out a more up to date list for both Elysian lists. Especially the veterans list has some outdated ruling in them. Plus.. Orders! Here's hoping that D99 gets special orders, I'm not quite seeing a bunch of veterans form up in a neat little line and perform volley fire.

Here's hoping that D99 gets special orders, I'm not quite seeing a bunch of veterans form up in a neat little line and perform volley fire. Elysians just need a quick fix, that's all. The IA3 list needs inclusion of the new Orders system and the revised Valkyrie stats + rules. IA4 needs the same, though minus the Orders. I can't really see a lone captain or colonel boss around two squads every turn, not unless squad sergeants can order their own squads around. I'd much rather see a fix for the chemical treatment special rule and removal of the preferred enemy: Tyranids rule. D-99 has a lot of potential, if only with a few needed tweaks.

As for the third squad, it'll probably be something along the lines of:
Veteran sergeant with auxiliary grenade launcher, nine veterans with a demo charge, grenade launcher and vox.
All of them will have silenced weapons, maybe I'll give the grenadier a silenced pistol and all will also sport NV goggles. Not sure on how to proceed with the equipment though. Maybe just combat knives, canteens and some ammo, not much else.

You could try giving them small packs of equipment. Scouts have these really nice pieces of functional equipment. Oh wait, you already know that. I remember several of your models already sporting some of those bits and pieces. I'm guessing less is better for these guys.
Or you could wait another two months while you order Elysian equipment packs. whee

The quality was just.. ********. crying It's beautiful. So perfect. Free of flash, mold lines, no misaligned parts or anything. You can have one of them if you like, I only need nine of them. Just tell me what you'd like on him and I'll provide you with the proper parts.

Tomorrow I think I'll have some finished men up. I've already got five more or less done, just need to add the NV goggles and some accessories.
