D: I let her use my computer and now I have a nasty virus that's completely blocked me out of all my documents, cleared my desktop, and deleted my icons in my dock add-on. I lost my research essay for my english class that's due on Wednesday and I can't work on the presentation for my group discussion class on Tuesday! I'm totally freaking out and because my parents are too poor to afford a real anti-virus software, I don't have any protection to get rid of it ;A;
Dx I'm so pissed off...

@Koji: That is not good!!!! D; especially when finals are going on right now! Maybe I can be a little bit of help? I hope it helps though. First thing is first, do not freak out, there can be a solution. That little bugger has to be terminated :O Second: Do you know what the name of the virus is, anything funky that keeps popping up? If you are able to find the name of it, do some research on the net that can give you the gist of what it does, and how to go around that. I can see that it hasn’t messed with your ability to go on the internet so that is good! (some viruses do this thing that they do not let you go on the internet or open up your task manager) Once knowing the name you can find it through “Windows Task Manager” > “Processes” and delete it. If that does not help, then go to the following site : http://pcreimage.cz.cc/It is a program that you can download, and what it does is that it will scan your computer. It will not get rid of the virus until you buy the program (figures -_-) but it will do a free scan and from there the address of its location (virus) will appear. Input that “address” in the search programs and files bar, that can be found in your Start Menu at the Bottom usually. If it appears, then delete it and then empty your trash bin. This may not work, depending on what you are dealing with. But it is worth the try! If you are successful, make sure you get yourself an antivirus asap! Webroot anti-virus Internet security is like 30 dollars and does a good job smile Let me know how it works out!

<.<; yeah... I've had a virus that blocked the task manager before. I found this little program called 'rkill' that terminates harmful programs, so I managed to use that to stop it from popping things up and restarting my computer if I ignore it. But it doesn't remove the program, it just stops it. I've downloaded other anti-adware/spyware programs to get rid of it but they've required me to pay to get it off. -x- I guess I'll try going in and manually removing things later when I get back home. Thanks for the help~

@ The Announcement: I didn't know about it until Jay told me on MSN. For a while Norton was telling me TekTek wasn't safe, and so I brought up the issue with Tekton and ever since then I've had a green light on it. But just to be safe, I'm not using TekTek until it's safe for everyone.
@ Random: Really? I've got a Ravenclaw T-shirt! I've had it for six years now! It's kinda faded and worn, but I still love it!

D: really? I've never been able to find anything other than Gryffindor and Slytherin. It always made me so mad. =x=; Like the super cool Hogwarts jackets Hot Topic has.. they only have those two houses.
.o. oh, and I'm downloading an antivirus program at the moment.. my connection speed is really low so it's taking a long time, but I'll let you guys know what's up when it scans~
