"Some days..." She said as she moved to hug him, wrapping her arms around his chest as she leaned her head on his shoulder. "I really hate being old..."
Seasons came and went, the passage of years untold and mostly unmarked by those who were seemingly immortal. She could be killed, enough damage done in a short amount of time and her own healing factor would not be able to keep her alive long enough for her to heal the damage... she was alone in her head, no one else there to force her to heal herself!
But the simple passage of time, that didn't touch her unless she wanted it to, and even then a little shape shifting could reverse the damage in a moment or two.

"...I know..."There had been a time when a simple touch would have melted this sad memory away...but that was what got him into this mess in the first place, and he couldn't condone performing it now. Besides...death was a part of life, just as birth was...Winter may be gone, but her daughter lived on...a life for a life, a transference of love...and, although John could not remember the girl, judging by Nedy's and Hono'o's reactions, the girl would be sorely missed. He did not know what to say. He simply clutched her close, listen to her breath, smelled her. He have her a little kiss on the forehead...perhaps that would relieve her melancholy...

Rae sighed and just snuggled in against him. She would have to find Nedy, and see her god daughter... it had been far too long.

HonoRaven Rae sighed and just snuggled in against him. She would have to find Nedy, and see her god daughter... it had been far too long. " Well, anything you want to do, or should we just call it a night?" He said with a small smile, scooping her up in his arms and standing, cradling her in his strong arms as he walked out of the entertainment area, up the stairs and into the main house, walking up the second flight of stairs to Raven's bedroom. Placing Raven down on her bed, he gave her a small kiss on the forehead. "G'night Rae..." He said softly, before turning to go...

...Only to find himself halted by a deceptively delicate looking hand wrapped firmly around his wrist. "And where was it you were planning on sleeping?"
Smiling Raven still looked quite sleepy, after all.. it had been a very busy day! "I have a teenage girl in the house all of a sudden, I think we would all sleep a lot sounder if you just slept here... where I can keep an eye on you." The wink she gave him was more than just slightly obvious.. but at the same time.. at least she still had clothes on tonight! xp
Plus, Rae still had that nagging doubt in the back of her mind that said he would make a run for it the moment she let him out of her sight... and it had been far too long since she let anyone get close enough to worry her this much, it was best if she didn't let him wander too far just yet. She patted the bed and tugged gently at his wrist, although her grip was still quite firm. "Hop on... I promise not to ravage you in the middle of the night... this time!" xd

A little reluctantly, John sat down on the edge of the bed, placing his hand upon Raven's grip. "I wasn't going to go far...i was planning to sleep on the couch downstairs. Like you said....Samantha is here, and I dont think she would be very happy if we shared the bed tonight."
He looked to the door to the hallway, his eyes distant as he remembered the girl, so serious one second, yet playful the next. "...She may be wise beyond her years, and contain Munin's soul...but i can still see a little teenaged girl, who clearly loves her mother..." He looked back to Raven, a smirk on his face. "...Who I dont think she'd appreciate shacking up with some barbarian blow-in...especially when it's me..."
He made no move to leave, though. It was Raven's house, and Raven's decision whether he leave or stay. And oh how he wanted to stay.
He looked down at her hand, his smile growing a little cheeky. "...Plus, you may promise not to ravage me, but i make no promises i cant keep...I can only promise to try!"

Raven let go of John's wrist, smiling as she pulled the covers down and tossed the decorative pillows onto the floor. "Sam is a big girl... and so am I. If it was Bren, I might think twice.. or perhaps not. Their father and I have almost nothing to do with each other, so if they expect us to get back together than they are living a nice little fantasy since they don't even know the man... so who I chose to spend time with will always be my decision."
She crawled in under the covers and rearranged a couple of pillows so she could snuggle into her bed. "Go or stay John... that really is your choice, despite how I might try to convince you to jump on my... band wagon."

If it was Bren, I might think twice.. or perhaps not. Their father and I have almost nothing to do with each other, so if they expect us to get back together than they are living a nice little fantasy since they don't even know the man... so who I chose to spend time with will always be my decision." She crawled in under the covers and rearranged a couple of pillows so she could snuggle into her bed. " Go or stay John... that really is your choice, despite how I might try to convince you to jump on my... band wagon." John smiled a little smile. Last night...had just been a very, very happy accident. They were both hurting and lonely, and...one thing had lead to another. As the day progressed, he found himself becoming more and more attatched to the woman...he had always considered her a very close friend, she had seen sides of him he'd shown very few people...now he had an oppertunity to make something more of it. His wife and children wanted nothing to do with him. He had nowhere to go, nowhere to turn....this was the first turn of good luck that he'd had in years. A chance to create something new... He stood hesitantly, looking back to her as he walked to the door...and made sure it was shut firmly, before flipping off the light, the only light coming into the room now being the moonlight spilling through the windows above her bed. Slowly he drew off his shirt, his hair flopping free down his back as he tossed it down onto the ground, revealing his scarred and shattered flesh beneath. He drew off the pants that were just a wrong fit, clearly intended for another man, before finally pulling off his metallic arm, placing it on the ground beside the bed gently. Walking back to the bed in the moonlight, he slipped under the sheets, sliding over to her to wrap his arm around her midsection, holding her close to him, breathing in her scent. "...I'm already on your band wagon." He whispered to her with a soft smile, kissing her forehead gently.

Rae smiled as the door was closed firmly... oh how she loved winning a fight! It was just to bad that most of her opponents never realized that they had won as well!
She tucked the sheets up around him and snuggled in against his chest as he crawled into bed with her... but she left her T-shirt on this time, if anyone was going to be wandering around the house for anything... it would be the one still wearing clothes xp
"At least your new duds should be here by tomorrow afternoon, no more wearing things far too small for you!" She was tempted to take him shopping again... he had far too few personal belongings! Besides, she liked shopping...

"Aye, that would be nice..." He said sheepishly, shifting a little under the covers. He realised again that he'd spent the night wearing another man's clothes....for some reason, it made him feel uncomfortable. Now he just had to figure out what to do till he got his clothes... He shut his eyes and held her close, sleep coming fast. "G'night Hono'o..." He whispered to her... **TIMESKIP** The Thunderbird roared down the road and pulled into the driveway to Raven's condo, John stopping the engine almost on a dime. "We're back, honey..." He said to her softly, nudging her a little. The trip back from the Island hadn't been very far, but it was nighttime and cold, and he'd made her wear his jacket for the ride back. Although he knew she would keep warm herself, he felt a little better about himself when she wore it - she seemed so petite, especially now...

Perhaps she was getting used to riding on the back of the bike, because snuggled in against his back with his jacket wrapped around her and her arms wrapped around him, she had managed to doze off sweatdrop
With a yawn she opened her eyes again and slipped off the back of the bike to stretch, rubbing her eyes. "No place like home...or at least no place with as good of a bathroom!"
Gods she had missed her tub, and her shower... and er shoe closet! heart

"Aye, very true - you head on up and draw yourself a bath, i'll be up in a minute - gotta tuck my baby in for the night." He said with a grin, pulling out the remote for the garage door he'd hooked up and pressing the button for it, the door beginning to open slowly.
He was getting better with the smaller things, although anything bigger then a laptop still gave him problems...
Gripping the handles of the bike and disengaging the brake, he walked the Thunderbird into the garage slowly...

Rae was doing a lot better with electricity too.. and to prove it.. to herself at least, she zapped the door open instead of keying in the code.
She kicked off her shoes and slowly dragged herself up the stairs... muttering all the while. "Just had to have a fancy condo... couldn't just buy another apartment with a nice elevator... no, I had to be a show off to the kiddies.."
The grumbling managed to help her get to the top of the stairs, where she was able to tromp to the bathing room door and push it open, dropping clothes as she moved towards the wonder that was her tub. "Ah, I missed you so very much! You have no idea how horrific hotel bathtubs really are!" xp

He smiled as he watched her use her new-found powers more dilligently...it seemed their little forays into finding her an extra power source besides snacking on lowlives was paying off in more ways then one.
Listening out for her as she walked up the stairs to the bathroom, muttering to herself all the way, he closed the garage and walked back to the bike, opening up one of the saddlebags to pull out a small bag of groceries.
This....would be interesting.
Walking into the kitchen, he placed the dry stuffs on the counter before placing the cold stuff in the fridge, clucking his tounge at the bareness of it - aside from some milk (which had gone off) and a few eggs and bacon he'd bought himself before they'd left for the Island, the place was almost entirely bare....
Walking up the stairs slowly, he leant in the doorway, watching her as she began the whole 'bath' process....and enjoying the view immensely! "Hey...you hungry?" He asked cautiously.

"I could do with a snack... there might even be some ice cream in the freezer." She replied as she did off with the last of the clothes and turned on the taps for the tub.. taking a moment to go inspect her fish in their nice fancy aquarium, making sure there were no floaters xp
"You know what.. we should get one of those mini fridges for the bedroom.. because right now I think the stairs are seriously evil!" She was only half joking.. thinking that perhaps another TV for in there wouldn't be too bad either.. although she would have to rearrange the furniture to make it fit nice.
Raven poured a bunch of bath salts into the water as she sat on the edge of the half full tub, waiting just a little longer for them to dissolve. "You going to join me, or is that beast you call a stomach calling you too loudly right now?" xd
