The healer wrung his hands. "The beast, now that it has been unleashed, is gone. It's never happened in recorded history that a demon from this village with that curse was able to defeat it. His body used the beast's energy to live, and to sustain himself. He's crashing."

The elder bowed his head a little. "Is there anything we can do? Anything? I can't lose him. He's the only blood I have left..." the old man said, on the verge of tears once more. He couldn't lose the most precious thing in his life.

"I don't know. As I said, there is no recorded history.... There's only one healer I know of who could do this. She's rather famous, and in fact she's brought the dead back to life before. She comes from the land of Mesilici, but it might take a bit for her to get here."

The elder nodded. "Please. Please get her. I don't know how long my Shiro has..." he said, wiping away a single tear. This would not bode well for the village if the boy was to pass.

Maria was hovering in the doorway of the kitchen. "I'll go. It's Anya, I know. It won't even take a day," she said. She went back into the living room, took one last look at Shiro, before heading into the night. Her trusty black stallion appeared, and she hopped up on the horse, headed home.
When she got there, only a couple hours later, she hesitantly headed for Anya's office. She knocked, and when the door opened, she found the faerie on the other side, before the potions master hugged Maria tightly. "We were so worried about you!" the faerie said. "I need you to do something. Get on the horse out front. He'll take you where you need to go. Please, Anya. Just go." The faerie didn't protest, but tugged Maria up to her parents' room, knocking on the door and leaving their child there before going downstairs. She told someone to tell Searan she'd be back soon, before going to the horse, and leaving.[
When Anya arrived at the village, the guards called for the elder raven, refusing to let her in. The healer had put an ice pack on Shiro's head, tucked a blanket under his chin, and told the elder raven he'd come with him to confirm Anya's identity.

The elder came to the gates and knocked the guards a good hit on the heads. "Yes! Yes! Let her in! Shiro hasn't got much time!"
Back with the poor lad, he was barely breathing. It was becoming harder to hold consciousness. And whenever he started to fade out, he'd see a little light. But he'd get woken up, making the light go away. He just wanted to sleep.

Anya followed the elder raven and the healer, and raised her eyebrows when she came across a certain class-skipping raven boy. But she didn't hold that against him. She went into healer mode, and immediately a purple glow covered the boy. She worked first on restoring his vital organs, especially his heart and lungs, then taking care of the problems with his bones and blood. She concentrated on forcing his fever down, and making the pain go away.
Kaya frowned, looking at the door. Who could that be? She got up and opened the door to see her daughter standing there, looking tired and frazzled. "Maria!" she said, enveloping her daughter in a hug. "Thank god. Luke!"

The boy slowly began to recover as Anya worked her magic. His body began to stop aching, and it was becoming easier to breathe. Yet he still just wanted to sleep.
Luke looked up from his book in th next room and came in, finding his daughter in his wife's arms. "Maria!" he smiled, hugging them both.

Anya waved her hand in front of Shiro's eyes. "No more dying, you got that? Oh, and don't skip my classes ever again," she said before turning towards the boy's grandfather. "He'll be fine. No demon curse, anymore. His powers might not come back, either, but I don't know for sure. For now, he's normal. Anything else I can do?"
Maria hugged her parents back, before trying to wriggle from their grasp. She wanted to go back to Shiro, and make sure that Anya had saved him. She was awfully nervous about it. "Sweetheart, what's wrong? You just got back," Kaya said, smoothing back her frazzled daughter's hair.

Shiro blinked a little, looking up to find Anya there. He nodded a little before nestling into the couch and going right to sleep. All this was jsut too much for him.
Luke nodded some, looking to his daughter. "Yes dear, what's gotten you all bothered?"

Luke glanced to Kaya and sighed a little. "Alright. But please be back soon. Or at least write a letter. Your mother and I were panicking a little." he said, taking Kaya into his arms, subtly making her let go of Maria.

Kaya glanced up at her husband, looking rather upset over the fact that he was letting their daughter go. Maria smiled at her parents, thanked them, then took off. Kaya whirled around and hit her husband in the chest. "What the hell?"

Luke coughed hoarsely when Kaya nailed him in the chest. "Dear, we've talked about hitting my heart. Unless you want me to drop dead." he wheezed. After regaining his breath, he sighed. "Kaya, can you not see it? She's head over heels for somebody. When have you seen her move so fast?"

"Then why did she come back in the first place?!" she demanded, pouting. She wanted her children back....
Anya, luckily, didn't have to wait long before Searan landed in the forest and beckoned her to him. He didn't question her, just brought her home. The first thing she did was find Kaya and Luke, where they appeared to be fighting... "Hey, what happened to Maria?"
