Kabi pushed open the door and entered, her head bowed. "Good morning, queen. The pharaoh has sent me." She said softly, looking up. She examined the queen critically. She overlooked the fact that Nanu had recently given birth and only saw the flaws. "My name is Kabi. The pharaoh promises me that we will be getting married. He wanted me to talk with you."

"What a shame about your child." Kabi said, moving farther into the room. "It being a daughter, I mean. I know that mine will be a son." She wasn't showing physical signs of pregnancy yet, but she knew that what she said was true. Kabi spoke in a tone as sweet as honey, as her name meant, but there was a somewhat coldness underneath that.

Kabi smiled sarcastically. "I think that love is--" She said, and looked like she would have said more, when there was a knock at the door. Without really waiting for a response, it opened. Kabi tilted her head at the priest and the other woman from the night before. She bowed shortly to them. "Good morning."

"Please restrain yourself from babbling." Seto warned Ayira, then looked to the queen. "Hello, my queen." He said, then glanced at the servant. "I suppose she's been telling you what's going on? The pharaoh is having his second marriage. Ayira and I came by to make sure you were informed and agreeing to the arrangement."

Nanu nodded "yes I know. Im fine with it. It is atem's choice after all." She then smiled and looked to ayira"Would you like to hold her?" Ayira's eyes lit up "Oh yes!"

Seto looked towards the servant. He didn't need to ask his question; she smiled politely at him. "Of course I'm fine with it. He isn't forcing me, of course. Not that I would mind. He's a very nice man." She looked at Seto critically, then seemed to soften. "You're his cousin, aren't you? You don't look like him at all. For one, you're extremely handsome." It wasn't a very subtle insult towards the pharaoh, but Seto didn't seem to notice it; he seemed slightly shocked at being flirted with so openly.

"Thank you." Seto said, somewhat awkwardly. "I had thought you to be a mere cleaning servant before. Now it seems clear that you're a prostitute." He turned towards Ayira and sighed. "Don't get too attached. We'll have to leave sooner or later."

Kabi watched appreciatively as Seto and Ayira left the room, after saying their farewells to the queen. "Wouldn't it be nice if the pharaoh died?" She asked, looking at Nanu. "Then that man would be ruler, and we'd probably get to marry him."
