Dante_Cross I... well... Im not sure you're allowed to... hm... there are no rules saying you cant kill off your characters and create new ones at random... hm... I... no... interesting... I dont like it but we havent got a rule saying you cant I guess so that means you can... unless a mod wants to disagree. well, ultimately i think the mods have always respected people's decisions regarding their characters, though when it came up in the past we'd talk the person out of it. i think that's mainly because the characters who are the subject of the discussion were established one, whereas in this case, the reader never really had the chance to get to know Zen's character. the character wasn't around long enough to be able to have a tremendous impact as part of a cast, but he can still impact the development of another character. if his death can somehow convince Mara that life is precious and make her realize that she'd want to spend as much time as she can with Kai, thus serving as a catalyst for these two crazy kids to get back together... then all the better. hahaha. seriously though, i think it should be fine... although i'd advice that this sort of thing is not something to be exercised lightly or frequently.

Q, Rag can kill tris if she wishes.
Rag, Kill tris and Dante will have to commit suicide after a short killing spree on Tatooine where he kills only 2 2 year olds and a Jedi named Ciella.
Q, Its the last bit I don't like the idea of, 'exercised lightly or frequently'

Gah, you're both mean.
I never said I'd kill her, just shoot her. Man. Sarai's allowed to be all crazy as a daisy but I try to attempt a little craziness for once and I take down everybody with me.
razz Lol...I'm so bored.

Dante_Cross Q, Rag can kill tris if she wishes. Rag, Kill tris and Dante will have to commit suicide after a short killing spree on Tatooine where he kills only 2 2 year olds and a Jedi named Ciella. Q, Its the last bit I don't like the idea of, 'exercised lightly or frequently' i don't like it either, but in Zen's case it might not have as broad an impact because his character isn't established yet. obviously if you've invested time and effort into a character, the effects will be more profound as opposed to someone we don't know much about. i'd still advise the rest of the guild to let the mods know of such plans since we're the ones coordinating any adjustments that need to be made to the main story as a whole. but i agree, characters shouldn't get killed off for shits and giggles. Ragen, i have no problem if your character sustains an injury. hell, i do it all the time. but just saying that you're "shooting a character" with no plans for a follow through will understandably arouse some red flags. what response did you expect when you said something like that? of course folks would trip. we do because we care. it's a natural response to bold, vague statements. i've always been upfront about my plans after my characters sustain a critical injury so folks wouldn't worry. as long as it helps enhance your RP experience, fire away. boredom sucks week-old vomit, don't it?

Ahh! The madness!!! Killing Velthos makes everyone want to die ! Ahh... THE POWER!!! But I think killing off a character makes you like them even more. You know... taking stuff for granted. Don't know what you got till it's gooooooooonnnnneeee!
But Velthos hasn't even put in 3 posts yet, I think killing him off won't be too important to the story. I was thinking of having a guardian character anyways. I felt that the character was too old to be taught. He had been running around planets trying to attain something that he'd ultimately die in. I know that there's been cases where Luke taught some older folk, but if I'm correct we're still in the age where that against the rules.
But to make a long story short, I could see where the character was going. He was going to be quite the pascifist. He was destined for an early death becuase he forgot most of his skills and was waning into middle age. I also just now noticed another Ithorian that was similar to him in choices and felt he may be a copy.
That's why I feel it is best to terminate him now before I lose interest in the character, but he becomes an integeral part to the story where I just can't eliminate him without consequences that could have been avoided.
So in his place, I shall choose a younger and unique character that will benefit the story to a slightly different direction. Becuase if all characters were the same, we'd all be the same person in different bodies. I want to help keep the roleplay interesting by adding an ingrediant not already mixed in. sweatdrop

RagenFallon lol, I was only joking Q, I understood what you meant razz i know... but i'm still concerned when people say such things because it makes me wonder if there are any issues in the back of their head that's putting these thoughts in their brain. half the stuff people say when they're joking are true, but said in a humous fashion to avoid feeling vulnerable. just... you know... talk to me and stuff if there's anything bothering you. sweatdrop in any case, Illyria's been gone a lot lately too. school still kicking her a**?

Ahh, College. It's really a pain... If you let it get too you. I just wrote a paper that was 15% of my grade an hour before it was due. Got a B. I just bullshitted off the 4 defenitions he gave us. Filler somehow gets the job done... Somehow.

And don't worry, bud, I wouldn't voice a problem publicly. I'd pm you about it, no worries wink

suicide paper... alrighty. didn't really stay in school too long, i got an associate's degree before i turned 21 and i haven't looked back since. i was just sick of school at that point. still go to college parties and stuff... just, you know, not MY college. hahaha. luckily i still have friends in college so i usually roll with them to wreck the place. well, up until 2 years ago. i stopped doing that already because i think i just grew out of it. i don't even go to clubs that much anymore and when i do, it's rare for me to get hammered. actually, i rarely get hammered these days, period. after a few years of challenging anyone with a mouth to a drinking contest, now i got nothing else to prove... hahah. still have a breathalizer in my glove compartment though, just as a precaution. wink
