Laptop? PC for me.

My current Pc is a duel core 2.81ghz Athlon, 2Gb of ram, a Nvidia 8800 GTS grahpic card and I've got Vista running on it.

My dads got a iMac quad core 2.18ghz with 8Gb of ram.
I want that ram, so much.

Only chumps pay over $1600 for a solid gaming laptop. Mine was $1300 out the door with a two year warranty and Vista. I need to get 7 from the college, because I can get it for free!

My laptop's claim to power?

2.26 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4 gigs of RAM, and a GeForce 9800MGTS card.

Personally I don't give a ******** in terms of power and whatnot. My laptop is for work only. My pc is the thing for games.

Well I decided to get a laptop instead because I wanted something that I could move around.
It's a Window 7.

The system running on it means next to nothing. What does it have under the hood?

Not sure, we haven't unpacked it yet, my dad's planning on calling my older brother to come set it up tommorrow while I'm at church. I'll probably check on the can you run it website.

Laptop's for gaming = overheating like a monster.

Don't you EVER forget that. I have a pretty large PC and it has plenty of airflow and the card overheats inside there sometimes.

An if you take what I have squish it into a laptop you're bound to have more heat issues then me and I wouldn't want my PC on my lap when it's at it's cookin temp.

In the start bar, search for "system information."

And I know that there are heat issues. For the most part, while I'm at home, I have my laptop up on a fan system. Keeps it cool enough for me. When I'm out and around, the most intensive thing that I'm doing is compiling code.

Well, that was more for Syumerrt.. He just needs to know what he's getting into.

I'd love a laptop that can game, it would be a massive boon, however I would not want to burn my balls. (Has happened to people. D: )

I have a Mac-book. When Mac found out about this our relationship died off considerably. crying

I also have a cheap Tesco lappy for Windows, so Mac will come back to me and not become frustrated at my pretty white Maccy-bookie. xp

Uhh....ahh man that mean I need a bag full of ice nearby for when my laptop overheats?
Well I wish my stepmother had left that little table thing she had used to carry her laptop around when she played WoW, though I think I'll have mine sitting on my desk with the battery removed and the charger plugged up and attached to the laptop, playing Wow.
Thank god I'm not playing ArmA 2, because if I was I may try to overclock my laptop, whatever that means to put it a crapload of AI fighting each other.

Now you're just overreacting... stare

Oi! Kid, stop going crazy.

Get one of these if you're really concerned. Seriously.
For the most part, laptops just get "toasty" when they heat up. Not crotch scalding by any means.

Just two examples, but yeah those cooling pads will help you not get burned. I don't know just how well they work for actually preventing overheating though.
