Happy Birthday Shock!
Guess what!! My dog suddenly went blind! Honestly, over the course of a day. We think it's from the Rimadyl his non-usual vet prescribed. Freaking funky situation...he's getting better though! Yeay! He still walks into things such as walls, boxes, the leg of a person standing next to him, the floor, etc. But he no longer wobbles about like a Shoc-er drunkard.
And..umm...ummmm....My face burns!!

So I was thinking that this guild should have an Avatar Edits Awards. The idea was inspired by the Oscars just happening, cause I thought it would be cool to have everyone make their outfits for the red carpet.
And then I got to plotting more, and thought that it could be run like the Star Wars Fanfiction Awards are (on theforce.net) of course I'm the only one probably who knows what that means, but basically:
There are different categories (like, best edit, best editor, best new editor, most improved editor, prettiest dress, etc.)
People then nominate people or edits for each categories. After two nominations, that edit/person is on the ballot.
Then the ballots are made and everyone PM's the host their votes.
And for the red carpet, I thought we could PM the host the edits and then have a pre-awards ceremony red carpet where each edit is displayed and talked about like they do in real life.
So I know this is a pretty wierd and far out idea, especially since it would need like, guild wide support. I for one would be happy to run it or help run it or something, but it's not just something I'm going to do out of the blue. I'd need support, especially of our moderator (cough Shock cough)
So tell me what you think, and feel free to be honest! I just thought this would be a nice way to commend editors as well as display some pretty dressed up edits of ourselves.

methinks the idea was thrown around long ago but things never happened with it.... but seeing as the guild has been quite inactive lately, we need a new formalwear event in here.
this.... is but one evil opinion. everyone else interested, speak up! scream

after further thought on the subject... an awards ceremony, while an awesome idea, could b trubble. feelings hurt, animosity created, general damage caused to the already-diminished guild morale...... neutral
this doesnt change the fact tho, that we DO need some sort of event party to liven things up a bit. everyone, please post any ideas for a nice formal/costume theme. any ideas for themes and/or games would b extremely helpful 3nodding
i would like as many people to participate in the eventual party thread which whill b complete with activities (minor posting contests and prizes given away). in order to b eligible to win prizes n such, id like for members (and NON members?) to make a brand spankin new edit specific to our decided theme.

Yeah, I guess I can understand that. I was just hoping that people wouldn't be so um...I dunno, sophomoric that it would hurt peoples feelings. Maybe that's not the right word. But anywho, I understand your reasoning and as guild leader it is your decision to make 3nodding

Unless the prize is the guild leader. *cough* I see no reason. neutral Let's mush it up together and make it a SpringMasqueradeCherryBlossom Festival. mrgreen
