"Seki?" Ulani repeated curiously as she put the finishing touches on the runes she was stitching in the kimono. She cut the thread and tied it off, then looked at Kara again. "Who's he?"

Kara finished up one of the obi's setting it down to pick up the other one, she murmured absently, "Miyu's older brother, his name is Seki."
There were a lot of names to remember, but Kara hadn't really thought about that.

"Ah, I see," Ulani smiled. She set the two finished kimonos aside and leaned back in her chair.
"Why don't I make us some lunch while you're finishing that," she suggested. "Then later we can go out to the garden. Will the children be fine outside? The river's rather close ..."

"They chould be fine," Kara replied with a smile as she nodded.
Afterall, she thought, they were no strangers to rivers, even though normally most wouldn't go near them, it was living home of mers in the Second World after all.

"Good," Ulani smiled. "Then I'll get us something to eat. I'll be right back."
She headed over to an empty corner of the kitchen and lifted a section of the floor - a trapdoor that led down to the cellar. Something nice and cool, she thought, would be good for some lunch.

Kara smiled going back to her sewing, it shouldn't take her that long to finish hemming at least she hoped not! This way the two at least have something else to wear and then to wash the other clothes.

Ulani was back in only a minute with a large covered bowl in hand. She took four smaller ones from the cupboard, then uncovered the larger one and filled the four small bowls with a pale creamy substance.
"It's best cold," she told Kara, covering the large bowl once again and bringing the small ones to the table. "I don't know if you wanted to finish what you're doing first, but I'd recommend eating it right away."
She smiled and set a bowl in front of each of her guests.

Kara peered into the bowl curious, it reminded her of pudding, but was that was it was? What was it.
"What is it?" she asked putting her work aside for the moment.

Ulani actually burst into laughter at Kara's question, though it was more to cover up her embarrassment.
"To be honest," she admitted, "I have no idea. I was playing around with a few different things one day, and this was what came of it. Everyone liked it so much I was ordered - strictly, I might add - to have some on hand at all times."
She laughed again as she handed out spoons.

Kara smiled looking up at Ulani, she didn't know the lady liked to experiment with food too, "Really? Just playing around that day?"
She smiled well it sounded good to her, if everyone liked it so much.

"Most days," Ulani admitted mischievously. "Though ... after three millenia," she laughed, "one does tend to run out of ways to just play around. Eventually, everything that was once playing around becomes a set recipe." She shrugged, then took her seat and started eating.
Pale though the creamy substance was, it tasted of berries and of some of the unique plants that grew only in the valley: nowhere else in the entire Four Lands.
For reasons known only to Ulani and Ulrich.

Kara giggled, "Well I don't know.. it's always possible to find out something else," she murmured thoughtfully as she handed spoons out.
Miyu held the spoon with both hands like it was a small staff or something like that, or a club.

Skye ignored her spoon altogether and poked one finger into the new substance, holding it up and staring at it. Then she stuck it in her mouth and sucked on it, twisting it around to make sure she got every bit of the pale cream off her finger and onto her tongue.
Her voice was still, but her wings fluttered her contentment, and she stuck her finger into the bowl for another taste.

Ulani laughed at the two Seconds. "Do you have anything like this in Gaia?" she asked Kara curiously between bites. "This sort of texture, I mean?"
Since neither young angel seemed to know what to do.

"It reminds me of pudding," Kara replied looking at it, vallina pudding now that she really thought about it, as she picked up her spoon to try some.
It was very pleasant and surprisingly like berries, she supposed because it didn't look like it had any she was surprised.
Miyu actually tried to use the spoon using both hands and then having to use her weight to leverage it out.
