Growing those back would be a pain like always, but Skyeheart could not even feel it at the moment. Straining for control, his inner consciousness tried to piece together his awareness. His eyes flickered as he twisted his head in spasm.
"you're....not.....trying hard enough.....if I'm.....recovering....already.....
hurt me....more! I thought....you....lothed me.... take me.....towards the....brink of....deeeeeeath!" His last words were screeched as his nerves unfroze and pain surged through him. (Don't ridicule my character too much with this training. Hurt him, but don't abuse him.)

Gage couldn't help but become angered from the boy's words. A rune blazed onto the boy's back. The wings could not be regrown until Gage released the rune from the boy's body. Gage then kicked the boy in the side hard enough to send him flying, to the other end of the arena. "Shut your mouth fool! I am here to get you ready for training! Now stand!" Gage stood at the other end of the arena. He had no weapons on him and his gauntlets were not upon his hands. He wore his scarlet shirt, black pants, and boots still. Just waiting for the boy to stand. A rib or two would be broken from the kick. This was training.

Skyeheart lifted himself to standing height. "That's right, don't let up...." His mind was nearly back altogether now. "Let your anger be my atonement. By the time I'm ready...you'll have learned something too."

Gage's mind hand planted a seed and the runes helped as well, he shredded Skyeheart's straight thinking easily as if he was only breathing. He then walked forward slowly, his shirt melting away, his muscular body obvious. The light from the lava giving it an eerie glow. He raised his hands into an odd fighting stance, his right leg back, both hands up, claw like. He awaited the boy's attack as his tail swung from side to side. "Hand to hand combat."

Skyeheart reeled again, but was able to get up faster this time. His optic nerves dazed and his reflexes stunned, the best he could do was hold his claws in a cross pattern as a defence. He braced for the first move.

Gage slashed at the boy's mind violently and at the same time came forward and swept his left foot in an arc upon the ground, in connecting it would sweep the boy's feet from under him have him land hard on one side of his body. He was not going soft on the boy either, this was a decently strong hit, to a human this would shatter bone. As a precaution, Gage's hands still held up. You always keep your hands up in a fight.

Again, Skyeheart fell to pieces. But the mind blows were already starting have a less greater effect on him as his focus was instinctively blocking it. Not fully, that would take some more time to get used to. But despite the pain and bitter thoughts, for the first time, Skyeheart's senses did not go completely numb. His body was actually well built despite Gage's thoughts. Physical training was actually a daily task on his regime, especailly since he trained with Seisuke ever since he came to RDS. Still, his build, like all heavy fighters, was weakest to low blows as their weight was used against them. Because a fragment of his instinct stayed intact, his feet shifted so that the blow would hit the area with the most fat to cushion the blow and avoid fracture. The ground was soft being that it was covered in ash. Skyeheart rolled to the side to distance himself when he tried to get up. Defence was the only way to play until his mind could build a level of immunity from Gage's attacks.

Gage lashed violently, double as vicious and intense. This would be more damaging than the first blow. Gage moved with the boy and brought up his left leg and then shot it down, hitting with his heal, at the boy's ribs. Along with this Gage's tail drug on the ground, for what reason, the boy would find out soon.

Without his breastplate, his ribs would surely crack, unless his diverted some of the force, which he did by catching the heel with his left claw, turning the force into torque and pushing him even further away.

Gage was getting angry from such defensive tactics. He wanted advancement from the boy. Gage was pushed he performed a back flip, landing and still facing the boy. Gage was not even working at full capacity with his mind or is body. Gage lashed out with his mind at 35%, this was little more than double the first attack he had used on Skyeheart. He was in for one hell of a ride. At the same time he advanced and waited two feet away, "Get up! Fight!"

Skyeheart fell forward. It was a level of hell every time it happened, he always felt his brain was exploding. But like Gage, he wasn't using his full strength either. Rether, he knew he would be going through such hell for what would be weeks if not months. So he was actually limiting his functions as to hold through longer. Skyeheart grasped a pillar of stone as he pulled himself up. Recovery from Gage's power was the first thing to be learned, and even though he wasn't halfway there yet, by the progress he was making he would probably be able to instantly stabilize at Gage's current level within the eve of the day after. Skyeheart wouldn't be able to even hit Gage with his reflexes only partly functional, so he would position Gage to his advantage. He cracked his tail forward in a feint, hoping for the chance should Gage lunge for it.

Gage just thrashed the boy's mind around, as the boy feinted the attack he did not grab the tail, instead he slashed diagonally with his claws. With the force and speed he had been moving, if he connected he would cut off that section of the tail. He moved fast enough to create a sonic boom and was sure he would connect at least somewhat.

A forward movement was all Skyeheart needed. Although his mind was sent scrabbling again he managed to use the whiplash effect to generate a sonic boom at the end of his tail and negate the effect while retracting it at nearly the speed of light as he staggered forward with amazing speed slashing his own claws.

Gage merely side stepped and brought his left leg in a round house kick to the boys chest. No doubt he would connect with the boy's arms, but with him moving fast enough and hard enough to break through any form of metal, he would either break the boy's arms and send him flying, or have the boy's arms smash into his body and send him flying. This attack would knock Skyeheart all the way to the edge of the arena and with this he would need to save himself from the lava. At the same time the air around Gage seemed to shift, as if ready for something to activate...

Skyeheart was bottom heavy, so he flipped onto his backside, sliding towards the edge. Even if he fell in the lava, it wouldn't matter. His home had lava pools which he used like a hot spring. Heat was a friend to him, as it accelerated his bloodflow, allowing his mind and body to clear up faster. Skyeheart could feel the change in air as well as he stood up. Was this a rune? Was Gage already moving on to the next step?
