((Short post as I'm slightly drunk and i just want to get things moving... and I do mean an uber short post.))
And so it was that Ruuvan pressed down on his own rune at the same time as D and Claire, waiting to see what exactly happened and hoepfully get a glimpse at the chamber he was to fight the Guardian in.

Both doors slid upwards with an agonizing slowness, seeing as they had not been opened in quite some time. It was an expansive chamber that covered around 10,000 square feet, with a ceiling that was fourty-five feet high. But if there were a room this big with a ceiling this high... it meant that they had gone further underground.
Anywhere beyond this chamber was the point of no return, if they even made it past the guardian... a 27 foot long, 18 foot high Fire Drake. It was sleeping in front of the entrance to the rest of the caverns, unhindered by the noise, and the task was to get past it.
Without harming a single scale on its body.

Ruuvan took a step back as the large doors opened, albeit painfully slow and rather loud, watching them disappear into the upper cavity and reveal a large chamber. Big rooms were fine, especially if they had lots of gold or treasure in them, but this one seemed to have a Fire Drake there instead, blocking the next doorway of all possible things.
"I know you won't like this, but we're going to have to wake this thing up." Ruu didn't know about Claire or D, but he definitely couldn't lift a beast of that size and simply move him to one side, so waking it up and somehow getting past it seemed like the only choice, "Just stick by me and give any ideas if you got them." And so they walked slowly towards the dragon, closing the gap between them and the sleeping creature, but they weren't trying to sneak. Ruuvan was leading the group, seeing as the compass wasn't needed to tell them that was the door they had to go through, and came up to the beast first, extending his left hand to tap the Drake on the snout. Ruu had one of his swords drawn, holding it tightly in his right, as he tapped the creature; dogs always woke up by being tapped on the nose, mainly as it was a sensitive part, so why would a bigger creature be that much different? Maybe he needed a really big finger to tap with, but he'd stick with his hand for now. So, with a low stance should he need to move quickly, he continued to tap.

The Fire Drake shook its head and snorted.
Now then, this snort was a blast of superheated air, carrying about 5000 joules worth of heat and quite a bit of force with it. It was done rather unconciously, but it was a sign of the drake being irritated. If they were not deterred or blown back, it would most likely wake up.
It wouldn't happen... the ruby shone quite brightly, almost making a slight hum as it absorbed three fourths of the heat from the air, leaving only a 50 mph wind and a discomforting, but far less dangerous heat.

The first thing to hit was the decreased heat, still quite a high temperature to make him hot under the collar and mildly uncomfortable, but it was the wind that would be the problem, sending him back a couple of feet in a stumbling motion from the drake. Even with this mild inconvenience and the prospect of something far worse happening should he continue, Ruu moved back to the Drake's nose and tapped it in much the same manner whilst turning his head to Claire and D. "As soon as I take this thing from the door, run through it. I'll take care of myself." He then motioned to the side of the dragon, out of the creature's line of sight, so the beast would think there was only one person disturbing him and focus all efforts on him.

The Fire Drake was starting to get irriated. It snorted and shook its head again, opening its eyes to look at whoever was trying to disturb its rest. Orange eyes focused on Ruuvan for a bit, narrowing dangerously. Here was an intruder on its turf, trying to wake it up from a quite nice sleep.
It bit at him, the jaws opening in a flash and closing just as fast as the neck extended to try taking a bite out of the elf. Hey, as long as he was awake, why not have a snack?
Meanwhile, Claire had carefully walked to one side of the massive creature, avoiding the eyes which were currently focused on Ruuvan at the moment. She hoped that he knew what he was doing... Otherwise, he'd be a snack instead of a traveling companion.

::Well D understood fully how annoying it is to be woken up while trying to sleep. Each step was cushioned with a baby steps. Until the darned thing opened its eye. Sure, it was trying to sleep, and maybe being an ancient drake it would understand the situation. And so he spoke with a smile, and in a whisper.::
We sowwy, we just needs dat little thing and we'll be off, and you can go back to shleep. K?

Unfortunately, the drake could not understand what it heard. However, it did hear, and it turned its eyes toward D. Uh oh... this may not be good.
Craning its head towards Claire and D, it bit at them instead. More intruders meant more lunch meant less noise meant more sleep. All things considered, even if it could understand, the Drake was a brute. Brutes were not nice, but they were hungry, they were powerful, and they could be fast.
The turn of its head and the snap of its jaws were all in one smooth, swift, fluid motion. However, it could do one thing right- split its attention. Whether it hit or misssed, it would snap back towards Ruuvan, jaws making the quite loud noise that a steel bear trap made when it clamped down on a leg.
If nothing else, the beast was awake. And irritated. And now, it was hungry, like it always was after waking up after such a long nap.
Claire held on to D as she jumped a good six feet backwards from their current position, drawing forth her machete as she landed. No, she wouldn't harm him... but still, she wouldn't let herself go through this un-armed.
"Sorry, D... but he's just not nice at all. And he's hungry to boot..."

Even a child could understand the need to be quiet and let the elder person handle things, couldn't he? Obviously not was the answer as D opened his mouth and brought about a change in direction of the attack, giving Ruu the time he'd need in order to get ready for the Guardian, not before being in a suitable state to take this Dragon to town.
Just as the Drake could turn and snap with its maw in one fluid motion, Ruu reached up to his neck and snatched the necklace from his neck, placing it in his right breast pocket as always. The transformation was nothing but a flash now, instantly turning his skin pale and allowing large cuts to appear over his body. Then, without hesitating further, Ruuvan leapt from his crouched position as high as was physically possible, for an Undead Elf that is, in an attempt to land on top of the Drake's head. These was a lot more annoying than being tapped on the nose, so it would surely divert the attention of the beast and allow Ruu to manipulate the creature away from his companions; their reactions to his new appearance would be fun to deal with later.

And with a surprised grunt... and then, an angry roar that shook the foundations of the room, the Fire Drake rose to its feet, making an attempt to shake Ruuvan off, twisting its head this way and that. Now, take note that this variant of Lesser Drakes was notorious for its speed and reaction time. Ruuvan was fast... but could he hang on while a beast with the weight of a freight train and the reflexes of a tiger tried to force him to let go?
In any case, now was their chance... though the Drake's stance was low to the ground, it was big and lean, its body mostly muscle. While he was standing, they could go under or around, and through the entrance. His hearing and vision was distracted by Ruuvan's little stunt, thus properly blinding him to anything outside of his direct line of sight.
The only question was... would they all make it through?

Hugin the Raven Unfortunately, the drake could not understand what it heard.
Whether it hit or misssed-- ::That was a very two sided way of looking at things. There is a hit, there is a miss. And there is...other things. The moment the Drake's mouth opened, the sword manifested in D's hand, as the dragon came...he would slap him with it. Not the sharp side, but the broad side. The problem with opening your mouth to attack someone, is that you cant see! It wasnt a matter of speed, though that was D's main attribute, it was a matter of opportunity. The Drake just couldnt see what was coming. The sword did something most odd. It wouldnt infact smack the drake. In the moment it intended to smack the drake, it bent. The sword seemed to move like a rather hyper lasso, and tied itself around the dragons mouth. Oh, there would be a snap as its jaws closed on empty air. But it was unlikely it'd be turning to snap at Ruuvan. That stuff was...pretty nasty. What once was a sword was now something more like a mix between a very thick rubber band, and peanut butter. It stuck to the inside and outside the drakes mouth and it seemed to tighten the more it tried to open its mouth. For every bit he managed to pry his jaws open, it would likely snap them down twice as hard. In a matter of about 30 seconds this elastic material would likely slow and stop a speeding train. D had been given a long time to "feel better". While he wouldnt be able to turn the room into a blender...he could manage a little goo. No, as the Drakes face neared, D jumped with the momentum of his own sword slash and landed square on the things nose, above both its nostrils, using his own black sticky goo like reigns in a rodeo. It seemed that as long as he had contact with the black icky stuff it continued to bind tighter...and tighter....and grow thicker, and thicker...and he wasnt showing signs of letting go. He had found a nice spot nestled above both its nostrils, pointing toward the end of its mouth. And in that spot he would deliver a downward smack at the things nose as he shouted.:: Bad Dagron! You be nice! ::This was immediately followed by a second slap, as the beast likely didnt stop thrashing.:: You be's nice, or you dont gets to breath! ::And yes, this was a viable threat. As the black icky stuff had begun to creep its way into the beasts nose in the same way it began to creep around the entirey of its face making a sort of muzzle if you will. Meanwhile D was having the time of his life, he was laughing as he rode the massive beast, safe in the knowledge, that it would have to smack itself in order to smack him. How long could it go without breath?:: ((I hate to say it, but I really think you guys are letting poor Lil' D's looks decieve you greatly. He's got a few more tricks up his sleave then he shows. Sorry to mess with the order.))

((Or maybe Ruu just wants to handle things on his own?))
Ruuvan had managed to land on top of the Drake's head, once again lowering his stance and extended one arm to give him more balance, but it appeared that he wasn't alone; D was now standing on the beasts nose doing some sort or dark attack, so that meant the thrashing was a lot more violent than if it was just Ruu, meaning he had to move around a lot faster and sheath his other sword to have another arm to balance with.
Although Ruuvan was planning to get past the Drake without doing anything to hurt it, except maybe take it into a wall and running off, but D was trying to suffocate the thing with the magic he apprently had no control over. Anyway, Ruu stayed his ground on the beasts head, waiting to see how the D thing worked out before either running through the door or implemented his directional control over the Drake.

Okay, now it was time to move. Far too many humans had disturbed it. Hell, one was too many!
Tensing its legs, it charged forward into the nearest wall. D might have been fast, but so was the drake. It could go from 0 to 60 in less than four seconds, though it was quite a big thing. Still, instantaneous movement was different than just building speed.
In any case, by the time it had reached the wall, it was moving at a speed of 80 mph. With a powerful bound, it cleared the rest of the distance and slammed into the wall dead on, lowering the top of its head like a battering ram.
Now, 80 mph is quite sufficient for a major car wreck... but consider something that's many tons heavier. A drake this size and weight can reach a force of roughly two hundred million tons at that speed. If someone were in front of that when it hit, they'd be pretty much dead.
Seeing as a Fire Drake is made of tougher stuff and can crush a car on its own without much help, then it wouldn't feel anything but a slight discomfort.
Claire had no idea what to do... so she simply watched, waiting next to the door from which the drake had sprung. The exit was clear... but the beast was moving quite fast in order to get rid of its current uninvited guests. To try to get some breathing room, both figuratively and literally. Whatever this goo was, it had to come off, and not soon... NOW.

::A driver moving at 200 mph around a Daytona 500 track is able to turn the wheel to weave through traffic. Much more so a boy moving on a big hunking beast is able to perform the simpliest of tasks....jump.
As the wall move in-escapably close the boy jumped. The goo latched to his hands like bungee cords letting him fly up, and free of the impact, and then bringing him flying back down near the drakes upper neck, seeing as how the head was currently convening with Mr.Wall.
But see, the thing about a good annoying goo...it doesnt break when you smack it. D had experienced many pieces of candy being stuck to his jaws, and smacking his face never helped. It was true D had no control over his berserking, but during no time, and no place, had anyone said he had no control over his powers. He did continue to manifest that sword didnt he? It may be better if the leader of the party remembered, that he was a hero who saved a world. And that the peope around him already noticed his strength, and skill, and thusly there was no threat from a small child...trying his best against something much more than he was. He may even look at the positive side, the fact that this child was on his side.
It was simply foolish to think that when the giant beast snapped at the boy, he was just going to stand by and wait for rescue. That just wasnt who he was.
He was a little boy....and the minor amount of power he could manifest came for his experiences as such. Such has how annoying it is to pull gum from clothes, only to get it stuck on your sleave, and them more stuck, and the mess becomes gigantic! The this particular case, the Drake slammed his head against the wall...but when he went to pull back....there was a problem. The wall didnt want to let go, or perhaps his face didnt want to let go of the wall. Only the 3 travelers would be able to see clear enough that when the Drake slammed the Oookie stuff against the wall...it stuck to the wall as well. And it was now serving to hold his face, to the wall.
Sure, if normal kid punches you, you'll brush it off, but if he does it again, and again, and again, it'll leave a bruise, and it'll begin to hurt. So to the Drake's head was far harder than this wall, but everytime he tried to pull back, the black goo would pull him back into the wall. And it could be seen actively spreading across the wall, even as it tried to spread across the rest of the Drakes head.
Trying his best to hold back a laughter in order to talk, D could be heard shouting.::
Down boy! Down! We dont wanna huwrt you!

All right then... so now, the dragon was simply trapped by its own manuver, and not knowing any better, it tried to pull back... only to have its head rammed against the wall. Grunts of exertion were heard as it tried to shake free of the oppressive goo... however, it seemed that it would not let go.
Pesky human child!
It was definitely seeing starts and spots before its eyes at this point, seeing as it had smacked its head a couple of times in its struggles. Not to mention the deprivation of oxygen was slowly starting to wind him down. Still, it fought, thrashing and whipping its head about in order to at least make them let go...
However, twenty minutes later, it finally slowed its pace. Before closing its eyes and giving out on its own legs, the Fire Drake weakly shook one last time before the goo forced him to the wall again. Coup de Grace...
It passed out, not in sleep... but in a comatose state.
