Asher kissed his forehead again. "You don't have to worry about that now. I feel better.."
And he did...Surprisingly he felt great as he carefully stroked Jay's hair. "Come on...the twins are wanting to see their daddy."

Jay smiled as they boarded the boat, he wiggled himself out of Asher's hold and skated across to the side of the boat. Gazing down at the waves that hit the side of the boat, rocking it gently. They were the only passengers on the last trip back and Jay was surprised to find it nearing midnight already.
"i'm glad, because if anyone hurt you Asher i'd have to do somethign awful to them" Jay said, speaking a serious tone. He felt so much lighter now and he skated over. The skates adding a bit of height to him as he pressed his lips against Asher's. He really did love his vampire very much.

Asher nodded and hugged him close, kissing and nibbling on his lips. How does he break that Jay was his human servant now?

Jay broke the kiss, after returning it with a relish and snuggled into Asher's hold. Leaning his head on the vampires chest.
"no more secrets either, kay?" he said, after contemplating it for a few minutes. The boat had started its sail across the ocean, and the breeze felt delicious against Jay's skin.

Jay blinked slowly, his face confused as the moonlight illuminated the boat.
"what does that..mean?" he asked, remembering what Raven had said about one of Asher's past servants. He took Asher's hands into his smaller ones, gazing at him and waiting patiently for a reply.

Asher squirmed a little. "You know how a witch has a familiar? Where it enhances one's power?"

Jay gave a blank look, he really didn't understand what Asher was trying to stay.
"i'm going to be like a pet then?" he asked, totally missing the point. He wasn't very good at grasping difficult concepts easily.

Asher shook his head. "The position doesn't mean you are a pet....though some masters seem to view them as such. A human servant acts as enhancer for a vampire's power. "
He didn't think he was explaining this very well, but he tried. "With you as my human servant, you're under my protection."

"oh okay so you're protecting me now...." Jay answered, snuggling close to the vampire as the boat docked. He smiled and kicked his skates up. Skating down a plank over an ocean was a bad idea, he put them back up when he reached the solid ground of the docks and skating in a cirlce, waiting for Asher to join him.

"Not just that..." he murmured, following him. "Most or all master vampires appear to be able to create a "human servant." By marking a human with four successive "marks," the vampire makes the human into a human servant. A vampire can only have one human servant at one time, and cannot remove a mark once given. A vampire's human servant functions similarly to a witch's familiar in that when the servant is nearby, the vampire's abilities are stronger. Most vampires seem to be able to exercise some control over their servants, but a necromancer servant, such as Anita, has complete free will. The death of either the servant or the vampire may injure or kill the other member of the relationship."

Jay stopped his carefree skating and stared at Asher, he got it a little. They were linked and Jay was now officially Asher's. He smiled.
"i don't mind" he murmured, kissing Asher on the lips.

Asher blinked. "I only said you were my human servant, to keep you safe. There are four marks that a human servant would possess.....But only if you want..."

"I don't mind, if it will put you at ease i'll do anything, I just want us--and our new family to be happy" Jay insisted quietly, it was getting late and now he was worrying about Raven and the twins a lot. He wanted badly to get back to the hospital.

Asher shook his head. "Not unless you are sure. A human servant tends to gain some qualities of the vampire such as enternal life. Raven and the twins have a good chance of living long because of their vampire blood, where as.."
He had trailed off. Asher didn't want Jay to blame him in the future for doing such a thing to him, as he feared after awhile he would his parents...
