"Well Lieutenant Wakamiya. For now follow Rain. We will have food brought to her room. You can feed her and yourself."
Professor Marcius lead the group down a main hallway lit in golden hues. The high ceilings and over caste light made the entrance area seem enormous and imposing.
The further into the building they went, the more the security they saw. Men in lab coats were always popping in and out of the doorways. Occasionally an armed guard stood post in case of trouble. The professor swiped a clearance card on three separate occasions in order to open doors. A fingerprint recognition machine was required in order to enter the test area where the Desperation patients were kept and finally a voice recognition was needed to enter the room Rain would be kept in.
"Lieutenant." The professor said patiently. "We will set the door to open on your command. Be warned though. Rain is not to leave these quarters unless authorized." With that she punched several buttons on the led screen and waved to him to speak. "Say your name please and speak clearly."
She made him repeat it ten times so that the machine would be sure to get it. Each time she had to reenter a command, speak her own name and wait for it to take. After awhile they rolled Rain in and laid her out on the bed. Her breathing was very shallow and her eyes would look at nothing but the compact in her hands.
"Where did she get that?" the professor asked.
Daia looked at her calmly, "Pino told me to give it to her. He said it would prevent outbursts."
With a grimace on her face Lilly looked Daia over. "He wasn't instructed to do that. The compacts cause REM activity. We didn't want that."
Sighing Professor Marcius shrugged. "Well it's to late now. We'll let her keep it. As you say, it will prevent outbursts."
The scientists left the room and took the gurney they had rolled her in on. Daia waited patiently by the door.
The woman turned to Ryouki then, "Stay here Lieutenant. Watch her and make sure she is safe. I want you to remember something though. You are not to get attached to this girl. You do not know her. You do not know what she is capable of. In fact..."
Lilly walked over to Rain and looked down at her on the bed. I changed my mind. I'll send a nurse in with the food. She will see to cleaning the girl and check her for bruises and blood viruses. With her being in the presence of inverse matter there's no telling what she could have picked up."
"Daia?"
Daia flinched. "Yes, Professor."
"Tell me truthfully,are you ready to leave this behind?"
Daia stared at the professor. She hated her. "Yes ma'am. No I can't leave it behind." She couldn't believe the words came out of her own mouth. She hated her. The conditioning made it impossible to lie to this woman.
"I'm sorry to hear that. And why can't you?" Lilly gave the child a crocodile smile. The look in her eyes could stop bullets.
Daia fought not to open her mouth. She stood perfectly still and closed her eyes.
"ANSWER!" the professor commanded.
"I.. I want to see her die! I feel-"
"Enough."
[After a long staring contest]
Lilly spoke,"You will forget about Rain. She is not your concern anymore. I'll take you to Pino now."
Turning back to Ryouki, Professor Marcius looked very serious.
"Rain is a valuable commodity Mr Wakamiya." she said,"Your job is to protect it. If you feel this girl is in danger. I want to know.
There is a bathroom through that door. Tables and chairs of course are in that corner." She pointed towards a table that sat low to the ground and was decorated only with a single sunflower in a vase. "If you need anything then use the intercom to call for it. The nurse will bring the food shortly."
With that Lilly Marcius stretched and opened the door. "Come Daia, say good bye to Rainbow Zappa. I will take you to Pino now. "

(((Man, and here I thought I was nuts...)))
Funny how much the brain could think, but how little anything made sense. Between all the 'yes ma'am's, 'right's and 'got it's, Ryouki hardly had time to understand half of what was going on. Sure, he got what his job was, what to do, all the silly little trivial things....but it was lacking depth. It was like drinking chocolate milk, but it's skim milk. Sure, the basic idea is the same, but it doesn't really hold sustanence like it should. It feels fake and automated like so many busted radios.
'That...was creepier than all the hells...'
He wasn't used to all the whitness and the strange sense of suspension in the air. His job usually consisted of piloting a lead KLF and yelling about things being broke. Acting like a bloody servant boy in a place he hardly understood was something completely different.
'Wait....her name is Rainbow??' and that was the last thing Ryouki really thought before he slapped his hand on his face and went back to his habit of leaning against walls and pondering useless garbage.
'Well...if I'm lucky there's something in their database about Kay....'

((Dude... I just remembered I left Rain's guitar inside Eden! xd If she would have half a mind when she comes back from being "dead," she would totally go crazy. razz ))
The car transporting Dusana came back to the air-base just as the people sent for theRYTHYM, as Professor Marcius called it, were loading it up. Upon stepping out of the car and closing the door, a person in a full body suit and helmet came up to her carrying an item.
"Major!" he addressed her. "We found this in the cockpit, we believe it belongs to the girl."
Taking from his hands, she looked the instrument over. "I guess we should take it back then." She nodded her thanks and turned around, hailing to the vehicle before it left. Opening the door and getting in, she said to the driver, "We're going back to the Foundation, I have a 'gift' for the girl."

Jenny and glory stopped at an outcrop just out of the bases radar arange and GLory went and set up her long range rifle. It would let her get a good picture of what was happening down there and where the defences where, first of glory went All cammo and stealthy then she started to ultr0red all the system defences and KLF hanger. "will oyu be able to get clean shots from up here?" Medri waited in Jenny behind Kanashisa watching for any enemys and with his radar jamming system working over time.
"yes... it will be easy from here." Kanashisa was quite focusing on her goal Marking each Anti-ari unit and KLF she could see.

After they took Stock of the general defences Medri sighed glad that no one had caught them yet. "Hey kanasihsa lets head back now, We can see where there defences are a nd now we just need to wait untill kayako get a plain or something... or she just impatient and charges in blowing stuff up."

The car drove along the streets once more, passing by the same exact ruins it had moments ago. Dusana could not help but feel some nostalgia about the place when she gazed upon it. She never lived here, but it still reminded her of her of her yesteryears.
The car pulled up in front of the foundation gates and Dusana got out with the guitar. She trotted up to the intercom, pressed a button and spoke. "Major Dusana," she told to the person on the other end. "I have something for the recent delivery that was left behind. Permission to bring it to her?"
"Permission granted," the voice spoke after some moments of silence. The gates opened and Dusana rushed towards the front door, mainly to not remain in the rain so long. Someone greeted her at the door and the guitar was passed along to them. The doors closed and Dusana was back in the car a moment later, driving back to the air base.

"Huh....."
Ryouki was losing focus now, staring at the guitar that they had delivered to the girl. Weird, her LFO had one too, only it looked different fron the one she carried. Supposedly he was on 'watch duty'.....only when you left one such as him watching anything he was known to end up transfixed by something else. It was a never ending circle...illustrated when two minutes later he snuck over to the security pager and brought out a PDA.
"Nobody's...in here right??" he looked around cautiously, then plugged the little electronic computer into the database for snooping.
"Now then, let's see what we can-"
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"
A short-circut, a few sparks, and one really really scared Ryouki Wakamiya screaming and hiding was the scene which unfolded from this.
"Dangnabbit! Stupid firewalls!"

Two men in full-body suits and a woman came into Rain's room. Ignoring Ryouki and his weirdness, they swarmed around the girl on the bed. For a moment, they were silent as they looked down at the girl gazing at the compact in her hands. "Time to wake up, girl," one of them said. He lifted his arm, holding a needle, and sunk it into her arm. The others began to do other things, beginning the process in which they would bring Rain out of her "desperation."
Rain looked down at the book in her hands, then noticed a shadow moving over her apendages and the item she carried. The shadow turned into two other hands that closed around hers and the book. The boy pushed her arms back so she held the book to close to her body. "W.. what are you doing?" she asked, looking very perplexed.
As usual, the boy didn't answer. He only shushed her and then lowered his arms to his side. Lifting the right, he pointed his finger and moved it close to her head, touching the green stone on her skull. Upon touching it, it began to glow. "Whaa...?" Rain mumbled, dumstruck.
"Do not forget..." he spoke. "Do not forget who you have been and who you are now... This one will help you to remember."
Slowly, Rain began to feel woozy like when Daia stuck her with the needle before. Everything began to get fuzzy and blur. The last thing she remembered seeing was the boy's face and his brigh green eyes. "Do not forget..." he spoke one last time.

Ryouki had somehow managed to launch himself across the room in a panic, and was now trying desperatly to get out from under a random table. Upon rearriving back out of crazy-land, the boy stared at the managerie of random people that had somehow entered the room within the last five minutes.
"....What now?"

"E... Ed.." she could not finish the sentence. The next thing she knew, there was an incredibly bright, white light shining all around. She could not tell what was going on. Just as she was coming around, the green stone on her forehead flashed a light, but it went unnoticed by the two doctors and the nurse. "She's coming back," one doctor said. "That's good. You stay here and observe her," he added to the nurse and left with the other doctor to do other evil Foundation doctor stuff.
Rain was as empty as a new bank account; nothing in there. All her memories of the recent events and the relearned ones of her past where gone. Supressed, to be more precise. For the first time since she entered the disease, her eyes roved away from the drive in her hands and moved around the room, first looking at the nurse and then noticing Ryouki under a table.

"Whoa...."
Ryouki crawled out from under the random table and stood up, brushing the icky foundation-dust from his spiffy black clothes. Being the curious annoyance he was, he inched past the nurse and looked at Rain.
"Hey.....you alive now? I don't know what they just did but it looks like it worked."

Rain watched Ryouki's movements as he walked toward her. She looked up at him looking down at her with even more curiousity than he had. She cocked her head a little, and remembered she had arms. She lifted them up and placed her hands on either side of his face. She stared at him with her blank eyes, and then began to stretch out his cheeks, wrenching them this way and that. Fascinating!!
The nurse chuckled. "I guess you should know," she said. "When one comes out of the desperation disease, they're like a baby. Everything is new and alien to them and they want to experience it."

Yep, at this point Ryouki's words were his exact thoughts, only lacking the equally important 'why me?' somewhere in between. Somehow, he sensed that all these annoying things happening to him lately were the fault of some unseen force....and he was probably right.

"She's going to have to be completely reprogrammed," the nurse continued. "But we already know what we'll mold her to be."
Rain kept cocking her head to each side, playing with Ryouki's face. "Ow?" she repeated in a questioning, innocent tone. "Ow. Ow ow ow," she continued to say. "Oww!"
The nurse chuckled again. "They're quite cute when they first come out and start to re-experience life."
((Hehe.. I know I am. razz "Are you EXPERIENCED?!" xd ))
