Mightyena sniffed at Flareon, already knowing Aurora. He glanced up at Jaeshan, who nodded, and then got down on his belly and gave a slight whimper, trying to show that he meant no harm. "He's a good Pokemon," Jaeshan said fondly. "I caught him as a Poochyena a while back, raiding trash cans in our yard. But how he got past the security Growlithe is a mystery to me..." he trailed off, realizing he didn't really want to explain why they had security at his home. "Little stuck up rich boy!" went through his head, and he sighed, looking away. "He's been my best friend ever since." He stared out the window for a few moments, turning back to the black-haired boy. "Score to settle?"

A little green glob materialized before Loki, licking its lips. It gave a small yawn, glancing at the Arbok before it with little interest.
"Loki! Wrap attack!" Keegan shouted, and at once, the cobra Pokemon lunged forward, squeezing the small stomach Pokemon tightly within its coils.
"Encore!" Randy yelled, knowing the weak attack wouldn't do much over the next few turns. Gulpin opened its mouth and made a groaning noise, soon after a spotlight appeared around them, and a phantom applause could be heard on the winds.
Gritting his teeth, and feeling a little creeped out by the attack, Keegan realized he could do nothing but continue to urge Loki to keep using Wrap.

Kilik crossed his arms over his chest and scowled. "I've challenged him before," he explained, leaning against the counter, careful of the Egg in his bag, "And I lost." He closed his eyes, remembering how he forfeited the match in front of Nina and Sabrina.
"Poppite, return!" echoed in his mind. The boy looked over at Jae. "He's not easy," he warned the two of them, pushing himself from the counter and walking around the group, "His Pokemon are strong. Don't take him for granted."

Loki continued to constrict the Gulpin with his coils, squeezing tightly, all the time hissing and snapping his jaws. The Gulpin struggled, fighting back by using a few weak Pound attacks, as the Encore ended. Loki released the small green Pokemon, retreating a ways as he continued to hiss at his opponent. Glupin opened its mouth wide, and a thick, black smoke started to pour from it, completely obscuring the small Pokemon from view. Both boys coughed and waved their hands in front of their faces until the smoke dissipated, leaving behind a fully evolved Swalot.
"Alright!" Randy cheered, clapping his hands. "Let's show that overgrown snake what an evolved Pokemon can really do! Body Slam!" Swalot launched itself into the air, coming down and landing on top of Loki with an enormous force. The Arbok cried out, its long body flailing as he struggled to escape the large Pokemon's girth.

"I don't plan to," Jaeshan replied, touching the Pokeball on his belt that held Nidoking. I just hope that we don't do too much damage with his Earthquake attacks. The boy gave a slight grin, thinking he'd give Weepinbell and Bagon a chance to fight as well. He hadn't really used the little dragon in battle before, and he was curious to see how well those attacks he'd taught her would work. "Just because he's a friend of mine's father, I don't plan to go lightly at all." The last part he said mostly to himself, as he turned and looked out the window again.

As much as Portabello enjoyed the ride, this was his stop. The Breloom dug his claws into the Machamp's lower set of arms, gaining the maximum leverage. He reared back his head, recalling a fight with a certain Flaafy. This is gonna hurt. He thought spoke to the Machamp before repeatidly smashing him in the face with multiple Headbutts. Releasing his grip on the fighting Pokemon's limbs he wriggled out of the attack, kicking off the Machamp's already mangled face and landing gracefully on the ground.

The Machamp fell onto his back on the Gym floor, holding his head with his upper set of arms. The Pokemon stood up, wobbling back and forth slightly. "Ma...Machamp..." it groaned, shaking its head. It held up its fists for another round. Giovanni merely smirked, snapped his fingers and the Fighting-type burst into action. It jumped into the air, pulling back its top left arm and letting it glow with an unnatural light.
"Maaaa--CHAMP!" it roared, thrusting its fist downward as it approached Breloom from the sky.

"I thought the same thing, kid," he told him. Kilik continued to stare at the boy, his eyes cast to the belt of Pokeballs. "I take it you think a quick Earthquake is going to take care of him?" he smirked (the fleeting image of Giovanni appearing in his mind for the fifth time), "Surge expects that. Think with more of a strategy, kid." Kilik tapped the side of his head with a long pointer finger, "Guns ablazin' isn't exactly the style needed for a Gym Leader. It takes more than that." Every Gym Battle flashed before his eyes; the first one against Roxanne that he lost when Flareon was still an Eevee, his battle against Erika the day his Eevee chose to evolve. He smiled faintly, The quick work I made of Koga's Crobat. And then, the battle against Surge flashed in his mind.
"Trust me."

Jaeshan scowled out the window, becoming irritated with the way this boy was talking to him. Kid? He was certain he was older, by at least a few years, and slightly taller as well. Jaeshan continued looking out the window. "You must take me for a fool," he said, his tone calm. "I don't plan on rushing in there recklessly, 'guns ablazin'. That's how matches are lost, gym battle or not." He folded his arms, and Mightyena sensed the annoyance in his trainer's demeanor, and walked over, sitting next to him. They boy lowered an arm, almost sub-consciously stroking the Pokemon's head. The only battle I've lost so far was the one against Kasiya, he thought, pursing his lips. And that was only because she had more Pokemon. He thought back to the day where he'd first met her, when his little Poochyena had taken down her Growlithe, but fell to that oddly coloured Zubat. I'm stronger than I was back then, he decided. And I'm not going to lose to Surge! "I'm taking a walk," Jaeshan said finally, stepping away from the window and heading outside, Mightyena on his heels. The boy stepped through the sliding doors and vanished. Mightyena pausing for a moment at the doors as he looked back at Kilik, and growled slightly before he followed Jaeshan outside.

"Portabello, another Bulk Up!" As the shadow of the Machamp drew closer, The Breloom wove his leafy fur even tighter, now with an almost metallic shine to it.
Sliding his right foot back, Portabello bent his knees and held his hands out. The Machamp swung downward, the Breloom catching its fist with his own, sliding backwards. Portabello grasped the fist tightly, closing his eyes. Concentrating for a moment using his Mind Reader attack on Machamp. Let's see what's inside that thick skull of yours...

Looking on as she stood next to Kasiya, Nina wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. She watched as Portabello caught Machamp's punch, and a moment later she turned her gaze to look over at Mike.
He's going to kill me, Nina thought, worriedly.

Machamp put more force into the punch, pushing his body downward on the Breloom. The impact send a force downward through the two Pokemon, creating a small crater in the Gym's floor. A scowl appeared on Machamp's face, his right top fist pulling back and glowing, ready for another Mega Punch. He swung. Giovanni merely watched on casually, staring at Mike instead of the battle. His face was cold and expressionless.

Kilik stared as Jaeshan left the Center, sliding his hands into his pockets. "Gee, I was only giving him advice," he tilted his head, looking confused. The boy then turned his attention to Ryka, "So, you've been traveling with him for...how long?" he asked, motioning for her to sit down with him. He took the seat he had occupied previous. Flareon continued its playful game with Espeon.

Tyranitar let out somewhat of a laughing roar, looking at the now-smaller Sakura. He stomped his foot, realizing that his trainer had left no instruction as to what to do. It was all instinct now. However, he turned his attention toward Anna and Krystal. He licked his fangs dangerously, opening his mouth and falling toward the Misdreavus. Its teeth began to glow with a dark purple light; a Crunch attack.
The Absol took a step forward towards Sakura, the blade on his head glowing brightly. He reared his head back and threw one more Aerial Ace attack at the smaller Pokemon, the wind in the room kicking up slightly because of it.
