Blaise walked slowly, using her stave to feel around. She sighed as the usually optimistic Riana joined her.
“Khnui, I haven’t heard from since at least this afternoon. I’m beginning to wonder where he’s gone off to. Rosette . . .”
Blaise paused and shook her head.
“She’s a difficult one.” She continued tiredly, “She doesn’t let things go. She doesn’t let things happen without having a say in which way things turn. I think that if Rosette learns to give life a chance to do what it wants then she’ll be able to get over things. But more importantly, she’ll be able to forgive herself . . . do you know what I mean?”

Kaden sighed sadly as Blaise left and Riana followed. Sarah came to his side and pulled him into a hug.
“Don’t worry, Kaden.” She said softly, “She’ll come around.”
Nodding slowly he said, “Yeah, she always does . . . I just – I just wish she wouldn’t lash out at me like that, you know?”
“Well, she is right.” Sarah replied, “You do treat her a lot like a brother would. Right now, I don’t think she needs a brother – she needs a friend. She probably worries about you when you treat her like family, because she’s lost all hers and doesn’t want to lose you along with them.”
Kaden nodded again in understanding and looked Sarah in the eyes. Smiling a thanks he looked to Cadie and Tax.
“I’m going to go home. Sarah you’re welcome to come with me. Tax, you were already assigned a place of your own and I can take you there if you like. Cadie, I can find a place for you. You guys can stay if you want, but I’m going to go. So, what do you say?”

Riana laughed softly at Blasie's words. "Do I know what you mean? Ha! Absoloutly! I am the one who said at the beginning that the girl was too soft and fickle minded to act as Messiah." She paused, suprised at her choice of words but went on, "I garentee that she has not even attempted to tap into the power she supposedly holds." Riana had trained diligently since becoming a Forrester in single minded passion. She was going to gaurd the Messiah when he, or apparently she, was found and play a crucial hand in the destruction of the government. However she had never planned on Rosette. She liked the girl sure enough, but could she handle the responsibiltiy of her position?
"Anways, Blaise, I'm just gonna throw this out there but you should'nt be so hard on Kaden, he's just trying to help and you can't go about bullying everyone who is out to be your eyes for you."

Blaise sighed, continuing to walk on.
“Yeah, I know. I don’t mean it, really. It’s just that half the time I need to be allowed to take some things on my own for a while so I can think it all over. I need to know what I’m doing before I have someone help me do it. Kaden . . . he just likes to jump in and do it all for me. He takes my burdens and makes them his. That’s too much for anybody. And – sometimes – he needs to just leave me to be angry. Otherwise I’m angry at him, and I don’t like being angry at him.”
Blaise stopped and held her stave in her right hand, squeezing it tightly.
“If only he could understand what I just told you. Come on, let’s head back. I should probably apologize to him.”

Pleased with Blaises calm acceptance Riana discreetly helped the woman turn around and head in the right direction back. "You know," she said, "I have heard talk that folk with the gift like you can use it to hear the world around them and create a second sight in a way." She was lying, but there was no need for Blaise to know that. There were animals that could do that perfectly well without any sort of magic so why couldn't Blaise? If she at least tried she might even succeede at creating a second sight for herself. From around a corner ahead a big dog loped into view, brown and black with pointed ears and a leanly powerful look. Whistling sharply Riana waved Orik over and patted his head affectionatley. He had accompanied her on the trip around the forest of course but she had left him at her house to eat and rest. He carried a small leather tube in his mouth and she took it from him as she cooed what a good dog he was. Openeing it she revealed a scrawled message in Tyr's handwriting that challanged her to a sparring match if she felt up to losing and she felt her fingers itch to hold her knives.
"Blaise, I have to go woop that boy into submission. I think I got rusty over my long trek, and to tell you the truth a hotmeal and a nap would do me good." It was only hte truth but she also felt it would be best for her to talk with Kaden on her own. Unsure whether she should leave Blaise she had a sudden epiphany and broke into a smile. "Orik, gaurd!" she comanded. He could watch over Blaise and follow her wherever she went until Riana called him off but he would be obidiant to Blaise at the same time. "Just send for me if you need me Blaise!" She gave the woman an assuring squeeze on the shoulder and trotted off, knives in hand.

Cadie was lost in thought but looked over at Kaden, "Thank you, but I have some things I need to discuss with Blaise so I'll stay." she said with a smile. She'd already worked out the first few things she would do with Blaise to test how sharp her senses were. She went to stand just outside the front door, watching for Blaise and humming quietly to herself. She had a smile on her face, but that was more because she hated frowning than because she was happy.

Blaise smiled a bit before walking back, Orik at her side. As she neared her door she recognized the entity there. It was Cadie. She smiled in her general direction and walked to her side.
“Could you keep Orik outside? I don’t want him chasing Ciaran.” She asked, then went inside.
Kaden was just about to leave when Blaise came back. He tried to avoid her and walk out but she stood in his way.
“I’m sorry, Kaden. That’s all I will say for now, but please don’t leave.”
Kaden wanted to say something back but Sarah stopped him.
“Just give her some time, Kaden. Let her do what she wants to.”
Blaise walked to a nearby chair and sat down to think.

Chrono came down the hall at this point, Rosette leaning heavily on him as they walked.
"She just wanted some fresh air." Chrono said, looking at Rosette as she grumbled irritably under her breath. She took one look at Blaise and frowned deeply.
"ARe you still bitching?" She snapped, surprising everyone present with her harsh words. "For someone lucky enough to be alive, you don't see very grateful."

Cadie smiled to see how sharp Blaise was and that she recognized her presence, that was a good sign that things would go well. "Yes, of course." she said, grinning and scratching behind his ears gently, "You're a handsome boy aren't you, yes you are and you know it." she crooned, she loved animals of every kind. "You're helping Blaise aren't you? that's a good boy, she'll need a little bit of help with a few things, though I hope that's only for a short time." she told Orik, talking to him as if he understood, he seemed to at least.

Blaise jerked her head up, shocked at Rosette’s words.
“What?!” she hissed, “You should talk! It was the Foresters that saved you, it was I who took you in, and it was I who ran after you when you decided to flip out! If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t be like this right now. If you hadn’t run off like that then I wouldn’t have to go out to get you, ultimately landing me here. And on top of it all, you just had to make everything so much more damn dramatic and complicated by nearly drinking yourself into a coma! So don’t spit at me for being in a bad mood!”
Blaise was on her feet by this time, clenching her fists to prevent herself from by doing something stupid or hurting Rosette. For someone who couldn’t see, she sure could glare. Blaise walked to Rosette and Chrono, pointing a threatening finger to the light haired girl.
"I suggest you not disrespect me." she seethed.

"You wanna fight me?!" Rosette asked, watching her hands closely. "Do you?!"
She pushed herself away from Chrono, who grabbed her hand to stop her.
"Chrono, let go now! She wants to fight, I don't want her giving a lame excuse like she can't see me or something!" She snapped, swatting him away as she dragged a chair to face opposite the blind mage. She plopped down in it and studied her eyes. She was sure Blaise knew she was there, and was ready to smack her silly any second now.
"Rosette, what are you-?"
"Shut up!" Rosette snapped again, putting her hands over Blaise's eyes.
"Rosette, you don't know how to do that-!"
"Shut it! I've watched enough people do it, I think I can." Rosette said, scrunching up her face.
The room was silent for several moments, Chrono wanting desperately to just jump forward and move her away from Blaise. The girl barely ever did any magic, she was mor elikely to blow Blaise's eyes out rather than heal them.
Chrono's breath caught in his throat as a few white sparks crackled between her hands and Blaise's eyes, they soon became for frequent and more vivid in intensity.
Then, without warning, Rosette pulled her hands away and waved them around, her palms smoking slightly.
"Well?" She asked, standing up. "You ready to fight me or what?"

Blaise was clueless as to what Rosette was doing but felt it harmless. If she knew she was in any real danger then she would bring Rosette down with a crash, not caring if she was bleeding or not. Suddenly she felt something strange and had to close her eyes.
As Rosette drew away she opened her eyes. Everything was so . . . bright. Glancing up, the first face she came to was Rosette’s. Blaise stood up so fast that her chair toppled over, nearly hitting Tax. At first she was a bit dizzy but was able to keep steady. Glancing around quickly before she set her eyes back on Rosette, Blaise glared at her, still angry at her words but absolutely overjoyed. I CAN SEE AGAIN?!
“Oh . . . my . . . god.”

"Good." Rosette said, holding up her fist. She looked triumphant and ready to throw the first punch... but instead she doubled over and vomited the remainder of her stomach's contents onto Blaise's feet. She stood up shakily, and dizzily defiant look on her face as she looked at Blaise again. She seemed to angrily want to fight back.
Chrono rushed forward and caught Rosette as she fell back in a dead faint.
"...Blaise...did she just... are you...?..."

Blaise was too happy to care about Rosette’s stomach contents covering her shoes. She went to the unconscious Rosette and gave her the biggest hug she’d given anybody, even though she wasn’t awake to receive it. Laughing all the while, she hugged Chrono as well and buried her face in his shoulder as she began to cry.
“Oh my god . . . Rosette . . .”
