Case in point. Add Chaos iconography ALA the first generation Chaos termies and you'll have some waaaay more impressive models than the current chaos termies.

I think that's what most people are doing right now. Some are even being extra spiteful and converting from the Grey Knight Terminators.
I've seen those, but I don't have a dremel and plastic is so much easier to work with using a regular file. Although given 3/4 of a chance and the correct equipment I'd try it.

Just go do what I did with my plastic terminators and then Chaos-ify them.

I've been thinking about that, although I'm also considering making a Tau force that somehow encountered Malal (complete with checkerboard markings on vehicles and battlesuits) and decided to have a good ol' time thrashing the other four Chaos powers.

(talk about heretical ideas...)

Three Tactical Squads, a Command Squad, and a Space Marine Commander. From there, it depends upon whether you want a shooty army or an assault army.

Shooty- terminators with assault cannons or missile launchers, Neophytes with shotguns (shame they can't take bolters stressed ), Land Raider tanks.

Assaulty- dreadnoughts with a DCCW and assault cannon, neophytes with BP & CCW, Space Wolf Blood Claws (zero effort to paint and convert as BTs), Predator tanks with bolter sponsons, Land Raider Crusader tanks.

I originally started out warhammer 40,000 with Black Templars, but then I saw the Tau, and sold all my Black Templars to my friend, he turned them into Ultramariens.

if you want that, then get shooty troops, then assault for up close, cause they can get there nice and quick.

Hmm.. Is it just me, or are the Ultramarines the only Space Marines that have no great perks? Like all most other Space Marine armies do, Blood Angels and Space Wolves for example. I've been out of the game for two years, I am not away of any upgrades ^^;

(( Eventhough I play Ultramarines xd ))
