"Quite. Now tell me, just what exactly what it is that you do that earns you such a rank as First Rank officer or whatever."
*He poked his one foot with a toe from the other, looking around to see if there were any shoes around anywhere.*

My superiors have promoted me to first rank. I have been an exemplary officer for 4 years now. I have not failed a mission in my time on the force, nor suffered any casualties.

((didn't see your post about Tac...so shoot me))
*Tor paused for a minute as his mind backtracked through the conversation.*
"Wait, what was this about an 'Officer Tac?'"

:::She swallowed hard when she heard the name. She looked down at the floor while speaking. Something she hated doing:::
Officer Tac, he was the first person I met here at the Brink of Time. The last time I was here...he was covered in blood, not his own. He must have been on a police mission and the violent encounter caused him to have a post traumatic reaction...he went mad. Called himself a murderer he...
:::she was trembling now:::
He became forceful to me.

"That lazy b*****d wouldn't so much as step outside to grab a box of doughnuts, much less go on a mission. Hell, he'd likely make Vince do it or som..."
*He stopped abruptly anbd looked at Cora at her last statement.*
"What did he do?"
*Not patient enough he approached Cora and lifted her chin up gently and looked into her eyes.*
"Tell me what he did."

:::Cora gasped, almost in pain. There it was, that touch again. The one that had no harm in it's intent. Only tenderness. Tears began to flow from her eyes uncontrolably, but she spoke as firmly as she could, pretending that the tears were not there:::
He. He held me to the floor, and...
:::She couldn't breathe. She felt so guilty, she had not hated what Tac did to her:::
He met his face to mine, and began to put his hands on me. He was so strong...
:::She became flush again, not wanting to look Torment in the eye. He was touching her the same way, and didn't know it:::

*Tor stepped back, and though it pained him, and stood at attention, not unlike a drill sergeant. If he was going to get through to her he'd have to use he side of his past that made him barf from time to time, his Superintendant status in the GPD.*
"Officer Serenis! Stand at attention when I am addressing you!"
*He looked almsot as if he were going to barf.*
"Using my authority as a higer ranking GPD member I order you to relate to me the events as best you can in the most professional manner possible. I will not see weakness in you. There is no room for weakness in law enforcement."
*And then he really did throw up.*

:::Cora immidiately stood straight without thought, as though a string pulled her shoulders up. She sniffled away her last tear. It felt good to recieve a command. It made her feel quite at home, even though her sergeant rarely ever vomited after finishing an order:::
Sir! :::she saluted, slightly more meekly than before::: When confronting Officer Tac he appeared to be suffering from post traumatic shock. He had likely been involved in an asault. He was covered in blood not his own. He was unscathed. He covered his face, and eyes when I tried to assist him. He began to say that he was a murder, and an adulterer. A sinner. He said that his life had been forsaken, and so he would turn to the side of evil. He was very ill...
:::She paused a moment, trying to find a way to explain the next course of events:::
He said that he found only solace in the pleasures of the flesh. When he unshielded his eyes, he came at me with a large shard of synthetic , reflective material. I was unharmed. He turned his head, so that I was not gauged by his horns, and threw me to the floor, and would not let me up. He began t-to put his lips to mine, very forcefully.
He held me down with his one arm, and with a prop to hold my other. He used his hand to...He used his hand on my body. Here...:::she pointed to her side, and traced it's way down to about her hip bone. She stopped there::: Not long after, I faded away and reappeared in my world. Sir!
:::That was the most coherently she'd thought of the situation since it took place. She felt very appreciative for it. For Torment's way of handling it. He must really be a ranked officer:::

*As he regained his composure he paused for a moment before walking over to a chair and hurling it into the darkness.*
"GOD DAMN ******** HONRY b*****d!"
*He cleared his throat as he turned back to Cora.*
"At ease officer. Now you tell me that he turned his head when he ran at you. This could prove useful. God damn. Truly stuck between a rock and a hard place. Just have to leave opos to Edy and Bolt. Hope they can contain him."
*He seemed to go off a bit talking to himself before he glanced back at Cora.*
"Two things. Don't EVER make me do that again. Yes, I've held a rank as a police officer, but its a long story and part of a forgotten past. Secondly, I don't know what you can be thinking of my father right now, especially after his intents to rape you, but I want to make it clear, he's not a bad guy. He's just a little bit messed up in the head right now. Believe me, if he was a bad man you'd be decorations to go on his horns."

:::she paused, letting what Torment said sink in. Her face went blank as though all her thoughts were wiped. When the life came back, she looked Torment in the eyes, not angry, but stern. She resisted the urge step back when speaking:::
Officer Tac is your father...?

*He turned away from her and walked towards the bar. Sighing he spoke, but didn't look back.*
"Yes...but...its a little bit more complicated than that. I will not deny the fact that he's my father the slightest. Yet I will not accept the fact that he has gone evil entrely."
*He paused for a moment to turn around.*
"Cora, have you ever sinned? I feel in order to save him sin will overtake many...."

:::she felt uncomfortable:::
Officer Tac asked me that same question...
:::she thought about it:::
I disobeyed my father when he told me not to join the Omega Force. But I felt it was the right thing to do in order to protect humanity. Otherwise...there is no need for sin. There is always the other way.

"I've tried to scour my soul of all sins. Lets hope that between all that hold my father as friend, ally, or family can get him back... I've lost much in my life, especially of late. Friends, allies, young love, my...mother.... I'll not add my father to that list as well."

:::Cora walked over the bar and stood next to where Torment sat, she turned her body to face him and stood up straight:::
Officer Torment, I will not accept weakness. There is no room for that on our mission.
:::She knew he wouldn't like the name, she did it half in jest. Something Cora never had time to do otherwise. Something drew at the corners of her mouth, and she felt that she was smiling. What he did for her was very kind. His honesty and his orders where the first thing to make Cora feel easy in this strange new place:::
:::She looked him in the eyes, the smile lingered a while, and faded to more serious thoughts:::
I want to thank you for you kindness Torment. How do people thank each other where you are from?

"If I didn't have a girlfriend I'd answer that question a lot differently..."
*He sighed as he ran the first part of what she said through his mind before tearing his eyes away from the darkness and back to hers.*
"Iunno, depends on how much you're going to thank someone. It can be anywhere from a little smile, to a handshake, or a gift, an action, a hug, just depends on the situation."
