My drumline is small!
We have two snare, two quints, two or three bass(Depending on incoming freshman), and ONE pit player.
The pit girl is the only other girl in percussion.
I'll be on 1st or 2nd bass next year. Apparently 2nd bass is harder, but I don't know.

I can tell I'm gonna be in pit. Even the baby bass makes me tip over.
I just hope I get to play vibes in 'Everybody's Everything'. There's a solo!

I'm going to play tenors for this season, and I played bass 2 last season. I'm the first sophomore tenor player in 6 years at my school, so I think that's cool. I'm also a percussionist in our Wind Ensemble, our highest concert band (Concert Band being bottom and Symphonic Band being intermediate).

My drumline is 2 snare 2 tenors 4 bass and 2 cymbals
I am lead tenor and im tring out for the drum core carolina crown.

There's 9 people in our drumline and 8 in our pit this season. I got stuck with the percussion part, even though I'm completely new to percussion. I was playing marimba, but I got bumped down.

Rhap-chan ^_^ **waves** Greetings, fellow drummer! Though perhaps I should be called a xylophone addict. ^_^ That's my thing really. My boyfriend began his drumming career at the same age, though he's a set drummer mostly. Marching band music is evil and wrong (^^ kidding, but it's definitely hard). And there aren't many rudimental drummers out there because.... many "drummers" can't play rudiments! Like me! But at least I have an excuse, being a xylo addict. I'm glad someone made a topic for percussionists! Struggle on, my friend. OMG! im a xylophone addict too! and i cant play rudiments too! well alot of the guys in my section (well their all guys im the only girl) can and make fun of me cuz i dont want to really learn it cuz i hate playing the snare (no offence i just plain suck at it!) but i kick a** at playing the xylo.!

Oh, good lord. I have clones.
I dislike snare, but I'll play it if I have to.
Prefer vibes to xylo...but same concept, they're mallets, ne?

There are 5 Snare, 4 Tenor, and 6 bass. Tehn there are 20 (21 depends on one kid) kids in our pit section. I'm a freshman, and got Vibe part 3. There are onyl 2 freshman on Keyboards. The rest are on aux or croatalies or chimes. So im pretty darn good if i do say so myself. xD
And i have no plans to go for Battery, i'm 5'2 and not growing anymore. I'll DIE!!

Jeez. Well, I am playing pit...playing vibes for nearly everything, xylo on a totally EVIL song...
And Hartmetz totally freaked out at us today. More the trombones than US, really...it was kinda funny, actually.

Me too...there's a three mallet part on xylophone for no apparent reason, so they told me to take out the middle note.

I'm stuck with the percussion part for the entire show. Man, I wanted to play marimba for at least one movement. It's not like I suck at marimba or anything; I do pretty well with the warm-ups pieces. Oh well, you win some and lose some, I suppose. We have 10 pit members now, so I guess that's a good thing.

Egad. Your pit is huge.
We've got six people, now that one idiot left.
And we still had to pull people from the winds for Oye Como Va.
Heck, our assistant drum major is doing maracas! xd
