(I made a post waaaaay back, when your ship started looking for me..... gah, nevermind. Evidently noone bothers to broadcast what they do on the galactic level. i assumed when you began searching for me that you posted the mission on Empirial channels. I made a post about receiving feedback from communications that I was being sought out.... and no one told me I did anything wrong...)

((If you had read my post, you would have understood that my work is being done for the Ascendancy, and the conversation in which I was given orders was done in a private, sealed, CEDF, conference chamber. There's no way you could have overheard that.))

This much was true; he had been politely 'banished' from Chiss space by the council and sent to do as he wished. He was assuming that, if it was the Ascendancy that sent Vaan out, that they wanted him back for a trial or whatever. If it was the Emperor, then maybe the Sith had finally attacked and war was underway.

Vaan knew it was a trick, to see whether or not he was actually representative of the titles he boasted. It was rather pointless, but Vaan deemed it so. Had he answered with either his Ruling or his true Family, then he would have denounced himself, as a real CEDF member has no familial attachment.
"I serve the CEDF," he said coldly. It wasn't a lie, afterall.
