The Manda animegirl982 sry. never heard of it sweatdrop Then... no offense, but why are you here? This a Watase Yuu guild, you're only supposed to come here if you're a fan of her stuff. Its unacceptable for any "fan" of her not to know her works =P well i've never heard of the sixteenth either. in her explanation of the name choice, she never mentions anything about "16th".

Don't mean to cut into a conversation here... but this will be sort of random... xd ''' sweatdrop
Alice 19th is my favorite Watase manga. I loved it because of my being able to relate to Alice at the time... >_>' [with the whole 'not having the courage to express one's feelings to a boy' thing... won't get too much into that, though... xd ] My favorite characters are Alice and Frey, despite the fact that I love Kyo as well. xD Frey just amuses me.
*notices the posts below* Ah! Yes... first manga... Alice 19th was not only my first Watase manga, but my first manga in general. XD My friend literally threw it at me on our bus one day and said: "You must read this. o.o;; you shall like it." And I did. And it's been my favorite ever since. XD
Only thing, though... >_> I was kind of disappointed with the way it was ended. It seemed really abrupt and out of no where. Could be me, I suppose... but I guess I was just expecting something way different. But other than that, Alice 19th rules. xD

it made me sad how short it was, but not as short as imadoki at least. it made me sad how alice couldn't confess to kyo for all that time because of mayura's curse... crying mayura needs to get over herself.

I think there was still something there.

I just MIGHT be cutting in here, but here's my two cents on Alice 19th...
Personally, I liked it the most out of Watase's works. Instead of the spunky, outgoing girl, we get a girl who has more inner problems to conquer, especially with other people. Mind you, I haven't read all of Watase's works, so no, you cannot call me a full blown fan, and don't say I can't be here - just because I haven't read all her series doesn't mean I can't like her works and talk about them.
Anyways, Alice was a sweet character, and I liked her. That was refreshing. Of course, I also thought it got kind of cut a bit, and it would have been nicer if there were an extra volume or two to lengthen it just a touch.
I don't have a particular character that is my favourite, because each is interesting in his or her own way. But, of course, Frey is a hoot. In my opinion, anyways... *shrinks*
Overall, I think Alice 19th was amazing, and that anyone who's facing such problems could take a Lotis lesson or two. ^^

Including me. And LHL (the rarely-seen captain) can't even remember the titles of most of them. So if anyone says anything to you about not having read all her series, you can yell at them all you want. Chances are, they haven't, either. Anyways. Yeah, Alice 19th was one of my favorite Yuu Watase works. Probably my favorite liscensed one, at the very least. Frey's awesome. So entertaining. I like Alice, too. I don't believe I ever figured out why, but I like her. The ending was a bit quick, but the rest was really good, in my opinion.

I've only seen Fushigi Yuugi (SEEN! I haven't gotten to the OVAs... *sigh*) and a scattered amount of Ceres aside from Alice. I've seen all of Alice.
And yeah - Alice kind of clings to you and makes you like her with her innocence, doesn't it? Well, maybe 'innocence' is not the right word, but you get my drift, right? XD

Yes, Alice does seem to do that. I think it's more naivete than innocence. Or maybe it is innocence. Does she hate anyone? I can't even remember. n.n"

She got annoyed at them, but I don't think she ever HATED anyone. Now that's scary...
