Shannon took a deep breath. She needed to tell someone this and she figured telling Jack was a pretty good start. Shannon didnt think he would tell anyone.
"Well when I said that the baby was Brian's. It was a lie. The baby's father is Boone..." Shannon said very quietly. It would be the final straw if someone was to actually over hear that one.

Jack's heart caught in his throat. He had suspected as much all along, but to actually hear it was dealing the death blow. He completely understood. Besides, they weren't even technically related. It didn't bother Jack. The rest of the survivors, however...
"That's not the end of the story..." Jack trailed off.
He wondered what kind of a curveball Shannon would throw at him next.

Boone looked away from Charlie and looked towards where Shannon and Jack were. This was taking an awfull long time and it bothered him not to know what was going on. He sighed and turend back to Charlie and Claire.

Shannon sighed lightly, her pink lips quivering. "No its not but all you need to know for now.." Shannon smiled slightly. Jack was thinking the same thing she was about the others. She glanced over at Jack.
"You wont tell anyone that, right? Because if anybody asks it's Brians..." Shannon also trailed off.

Jack smiled and gave Shannon's shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
"No one has to know. I promise that unless you want to let the secret out, it's safe with me. I'll deny everything," Jack replied.
It wasn't anyone's business to know and it wasn't Jack's place to tell.

movie_fanatic "I.." Boone trid very hard to remember. He barely remembered his fall. He sighed and looked back to Charlie. "A-All I can remember was him telling me..telling me that there was no survivors on our plane.." Charlie nodded. "Boone! I talked ont he same radio! I heard the same person! He told me the same thing, or at least tried to . . ." He paced back and forth. "What did he mean though? Are we dead?"

"I guess.. I guess since they didn't have any signs of us..they thought we were dead.."
Boone guessed as he looked away and sighed once more.

Shannon nodded and stood up. "Thanks Jack. You know for just understanding and everything.." She fidgeted slightly and then turned to leave. She walked away from the curtains and out to where the three were. She smiled as best she could and sat down on the ground, folding her arms over her stomach. She turned to Boone. "Do you ned anything?" She asked, smiling for the third or fourth time that day.

Jack sighed as he watched Shannon walk away. He hoped that he had been able to lighten the load a little bit. Jack quickly stood up and walked out from behind the curtain. He left the caves and went to stand by where Locke was sitting, unmoving. He was staring into the quickly setting sun. Jack sighed and switched from doctor mode to interrogation mode. He bared down on Locke again.
"No, where were we? Right. You were going to tell me exactly, play by play, what the hell happened out in that jungle," Jack snapped.
Jack figured it was hopeless, but he wasn't going to give up that easily.

Shannon nodded and threw her head back a little, her eyes fluttering shut. She was about to fall asleep when she snapped her head up and blinked a few times.

Boone sat up slowly and looked at Shannon. They needed to talk..though he was sure she wouldn't want to.

Shannon nodded and looked up at Claire and Charlie. "Hey can we talk some other time. Boone needs his rest.." She stated smiling slightly, hoping they would take the hinto to leave. They did take the hint and walked off. Shannon eaited until they were out of sight and then she sat up on the 'bed' next to Boone. "You wanna talk? Just say whatever or ask whatever you need to.." She smiled and sighed. Shannon had to get this over with sometime.

"I just wanted to know..What-what do you want me to be? Like, father..uncle or nothing at all?"
He was talking about the baby obviously. He knew this may upset Shannon but he needed to know.

Shannon sighed and played with her gingers, interlocking them and then examaning her nails. "Boone, however much you are gonna love this baby isnt my decision and neither is what role your gonna play in its life.." Shannon glanced up at him.
