"I'm not surprised at all." Sibyl probably had mentioned her to every single friend she had made. Most probably. Maybe even definitely. Also, there were no secret passcodes between them, unless Sibyl had made something up. Marzena wasn't sure. She wasn't really in the mood for being amused.
Things were really progressing now, Marzena thought, tight-lipped as she listened to Sibyl babble about how nice Gabriel was to her.
And by things, Marzena really meant the scale of her irritation. Her gaze had turned from frosty to extremely frosty to absolutely murderous. At least though, she was actually giving him a chance to explain himself instead of dragging Sibyl away entirely. "It sounds like you have intentions. Fish, chocolate, and then a penguin? What's next?"

BOOM BOOM BOOM While Makoto wasn't looking - at least, he hoped - Maddy hurled a few more darts at some idle balloons, trying not to feel like the world was watching him. Exhaleeeeeee ... phew. That felt better. He toyed with one of the darts in his hand, turning now to face the open crowd, watching his fellow students as they passed.

BOOM BOOM BOOM Intentions? Yikes. Was Marzena being protective over Sibyl? This was a new, uncomfortable element to the conversation that Gabby had hoped to avoid. What could he do, though? It was suddenly as if there was some kind of odd, twisted little competition for Sibyl..

Challenge accepted.
He picked up a new set of darts, and let a few fly, in the silence after Sibyl's naive answer. He just let the silence sit there, until his dart hit a black balloon, and he turned to smile very politely at Marzena. His reply sounded like he was saying something completely different from what the words actually were.
"Two penguins."
He threw the rest of the darts all at once without looking.

BOOM BOOM BOOM Well, after hitting things, he ended up with a lot more points than he thought he'd have. Grand! Happy, he headed towards the prize booth. Looking in his hand and thinking a moment, the frost demon smiled as he realized he could afford a lot more than he thought, and picked out three of the minis he'd had his eyes on before. Maybe his brother would be jealous. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on which way you looked at it) for Gabriel, Marzena was entirely uninterested in romance and more interested in making sure that Sibyl would not have her skin cheated away.
"That'll give you a stomachache, Sibyl." Marzena said disdainfully, still glaring at Gabriel. Yanking sharply on the back of Sibyl's collar, she hissed into the younger selkie's ear. "How long have you known him?"

Sibyl made an unhappy noise of protest when Marzena insisted she'd get a stomachache, like a child trying to disagree with her mother. "But Marziiiiie!" She choked a little the pelt around her shoulders was tugged, stumbling back and landing leaning against Marzena. Sibyl blinked. How long..
"Two days!" Sibyl announced proudly. "Why?"

"Two days and he's given you all these stuff." She finally said, not sure whether if she should be horrified or disgusted. "Two days, Sibyl. Why is a boil so nice to you after two days? Think about that." Her brother could probably explain that away, being a known flirt and all. But he was not here, and he was not in danger of having his skin stolen.

"Yup!" Sibyl still saw nothing wrong with it. She leaned comfortably against Marzena, making a happy little sound as she leaned all her weight against the older ghoul. Why? Well, that was obvious! Gabriel was her friend! He'd been nice from the very start! He liked her!
Suddenly Sibyl gasped, a hand clamped over her mouth and her eyes widened. Gabriel liked her?!
Wait...why was Marzena acting all angry and stuff? Shouldn't she be happy? No, no. That couldn't be it. Think, Sibyl! Think! What would Marzena be protecting you from...
Uh...
..Oh! Duh! Sibyl smiled and shook her head. "He knows he can't touch it~. I told him that myself! Gabriel's very nice, Marzie. You just gotta know how to talk to him and stuff." Because clearly after two days Sibyl was an expert. But she still suddenly frowned. "Are you mad...? You're always really busy and stuff whenever I wanna hang out or I'd have asked if I could come here with you. Do you have a boilfriend you're not telling me about?" That wasn't nice, Marzie.

But she was busy.

Marzena wasn't relaxing completely even with Sibyl's assurance. Still, she supposed that she could give Gabriel the benefit of the doubt... for now. "He'd better not." She said, raising her voice deliberately so he would hear. "I hope he's as nice as you say." Her gaze towards the boil was a lot less frosty, but it was still mostly unimpressed.
............................... wait what
"There is no boilfriend, Sibyl." Marzena groaned. It wasn't as though she would entertain any admirers either. Back home, if any selkie boil had liked her, she was most probably quite oblivious about it. Even if it was made clear to her by her sisters or brother, Marzena had pretended not to care. "Just because I'm busy doesn't mean that there's a boilfriend."
".... But if you have one, you'd better tell me or your family would murder me for not taking care of you." Marzena could only imagine the reaction her own family would get if she had a boilfriend. If. She was highly doubtful of that.
