It was occuring to Nita that it probably would have been for the best if she had just stayed in her duplex. Or watched from the porch. She wiped a few flecks of spittle from her face, trying not to gag.
What the hell, attacking a guy in a wheelchair? Nita was very much aware of her small stature at that moment, shrinking away from the enraged octopus-man and feeling awfully cowardly.

Billy made an odd face, a bit of black liquid glistening at the corner of his mouth as he pulled back, stumbling befor he started scanning for where his second crutch had gotten to, "Shite. Feckin' hell."

He smoothed his shirt watching as Billy staggered towards the brush. Once he was confident he wasn't going to come flying back he looked over her shoulder to the girl. "Hey... you know him?"

Nita paled slightly, fervently hoping Billy wasn't about to vomit all over the place. "What?" she asked, surprised at being addressed. "Um, kind of. I've run into him once before... William. Billy." Nita held onto the back of the wheelchair for support, hands clutching at the handlebars.

The octopus man kept apart from the cripple and the redhead, murmuring to himself in his thick accent as he dropped to sit on the ground, collecting what few of his belongings he could reach quietly and bitterly.

Didn't really tell him much, but a name was a decent start. "Hey, Billy" he cautiously pushed the wheels forward, going slow so Nita could scoot along behind if she had the nerve. Once he was close enough he tossed the backpack in his direction. "There's gotta be someone willing to let you stay at their place." Person might end up tossed out on their a** as well... but that wasn't his concern.

Nita would have given Marlow more information, had she known anything other than, "Well, he's generally unpleasant.' In any case, she did trail after him, more automatically than actually thinking about it. Better than standing around, looking like a dolt. Maybe.

"Aye, righ'," Billy grunted, shifting to shove his things into the backpack, leaving the garbage and empty bottles were they lay, picking out only his belongings worth saving. His squeezebox had rolled under a bush, and he had to lay down and slither a tentacle under the branches to reach it. "Aint nobody on this damn island tha' woul' give a s**t enough t'put up wit' me," he growled.

Marlow would have assured him otherwise, but for all he knew everyone on the island really didn't give a s**t about the guy and nobody had passed the memo his way just yet. He shrugged at Nita, mouthing anybody?

Nita frowned, thinking that Billy was probably right. The people she had run into who had encountered Billy certainly weren't particularly fond of him. She shrugged back at Marlow. "What about Antony?" she ventured. The two of them had been together at that beach party way back.

Billy gave a grunt, his face contorting with anger, "Tha' snitchin' b***h, y'kiddin' me? She woul'n b'sides." That said, he slid the backpack on as best he could, cringing at the feeling of the straps on his sensitive arm webbing and pulled himself up onto his crutches, "No, I know where they all feckin' want me. They want me out, I'll get out. Feck all o' ye." He spat black beside Marlow's chair, although his expression was strange despite his angry tone. It appeared angry, although his color changing skin remained blank, grey and dry. Like he was pretending to be angry, covering up whatever it was that was going on behind his mildly altered features. He gave a sniff, his nervious tick returning.

"Suit yourself." Marlow said cooly as he stared at the black spatter next to his chair, his stomach turning again at the concept of inky spit... or was that just the pain again. He comforted himself with the thought that it could have been worse. Billy could have spat in his face. As for the guy's attitude, he couldn't blame him. Guy was turning into a ******** octopus. That alone gave him a certain right to be an a*****e in Marlow's mind. "Just don't do anything stupid. You wanna try this whole 'meeting' thing later look me up. Duplex 47."

Nita shrugged, muttering defensively, "It was just a suggestion..." She stepped away from the puddle of ink. Now that was just gross.
In spite of her general dislike for Billy, Nita did feel a bit bad for him. He didn't seem to know why, exactly, he would get locked out like that, so maybe the doctors were just ******** with him. She was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, for now at least.
"Yeah, take care of yourself," she said quietly.

"Aye, righ'," He grunted, crutching down the path and away, his head low in defeat. He had a long walk to make to the lake befor it got dark. Maybe he'd make due with the river. Or some hiding place where some stupid wild animal wouldn't decide to eat him. ******** them. ******** the whole island.

Marlow watched him go, trying not to dwell for long on his fate, or his own for that matter. Seemed Vasile was right... the we sure fond of their mind ******** on the island. He leaned back in his chair and tilted his head back to look at redhead behind him. "There goes a sad, sad man."
