Arthur's smile grew as he saw the child accepted his hand. It gave him a comforting feeling to know he was being looked up to in a way. He certainly had missed doing this with Alfred and some of colonies when they were this young. There was nothing better than the happiness he felt in those days.

A little tug that directed his attention to see the invitation to be lifted. The Englishman wasn't prepared for such an action, especially after spanking a boy he knew little of. His face flushed before he bent over to pick up the child. "Let's go find your sister. Shall we?"

Andrew felt more than a little awkward being held and instinctively he wanted to push away or squirm or hit at the person holding him, but he closed his eyes tight as he was lifted into England's arms. He sat still for a few moments with his eyes shut before slowly allowing himself to take in the scent and feel of this man. He was so different from North Carolina and the other twelve siblings he knew were direct offspring of his, but Arthur wasn't entirely different. It was a strange feeling that was both foreign and familiar. He could practically sense the ancient heritage of his people and culture which came from The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland while in direct contact. There were so many things he could instinctively sense about England that was like himself even though it was completely different. It was strange and foreign and definitely confusing and something he once hated with his whole being, but Andrew wasn't exactly put off by it.

After a few moments Tennessee lowered his tired, achy body to rest against Arthur's shoulder while tucking his throbbing and now mildly feverish head under the elder nation's chin. Whether it was the medicine wearing off or the oddity of being held by his estranged "mother" he felt comfortable in the normally very uncomfortable position. For now he would tolerate being carried around like a small child... at least for a little while.

"Yeah," he agreed softly with a small nod when England volunteered to help find his sister. Although now he didn't seem as distressed about being separated from her as he had earlier.

Even with his knowledge of not being much for multi-tasking, Georgia still insisted on running down the halls while trying to type up a mass text to send to all-- well, most since there were a few he couldn't stand and would never call out for help from in a million year not ever ******** that-- while trying to think of where his miniature brother could have gone off to. With his mind too focused on moving quickly, tapping away at his phone, and thoughts on where would I go if I were Andrew, he didn't see England's back quickly approaching...

And very quickly slammed into Arthur not long after he had picked up poor Tennessee and gotten him to hold still and behave. Georgia gave a distressed cry for running into something and dropping his phone, but he also instinctively reached out and grabbed whatever he slammed into to keep it from falling from his own mistake. Yes, he'd admit that this one was "his bad". A proud person can still admit when they are at fault. And from the looks of it, he would have to accept the blame any ways since he recognized the back of the blond head he'd almost head-butted when he collided with the person.

"Ah! Sorry, Arthur! I hadn't meant to ram into you like that. I'm trying to find my little brother and text some of the other states at the same time. Oh! Say, would you mind helping me out? Well, Miss Elizaveta, actually. I, uh, I kinda told her what I know in terms of where Miss Lili's been, so now she's wanting to conduct a search and rescue right this moment... I figured that since you and Al, ya know, and Al is friends with Miss Lili along with most of us states, maybe you wouldn't mind helping out with getting her back?" He had yet to really look up from the screen for more than a few seconds as he tapped way at the phone and searched through contacts-- dear God, did he have A LOT besides just his siblings...-- for people to come on the mission.

Tennessee was just starting to feel warm and comfortable enough to drift off to sleep in England's embrace when suddenly the pair were jolted by a force plowing into the nation. The baby gripped Arthur's shirt tightly as his eyes snapped open and every sense he had went on alert. Only when they were stable did he start to relax again although he had a grumpy scowl on his face as he lifted his head to peek over the Englishman's shoulder and saw... his big brother! There George was! For a moment Andrew started to smile and waved quietly at his texting sibling until said big brother uttered a very suspicious sounding phrase.

"... I figured that since you and Al, ya know..."

Tennessee's little smile curved into a confused frown. Ya know? What did ya know? Did England do something to his nation? What was this sneaky gross-tea sucker up to? What happened to America?! The baby's expression turned eerily dark as he leaned back just enough to glare up at England's face suspiciously.

"... What does Geowge mean by 'ya know,' wobsta'back?" he demanded flatly as all sweetness and friendship was dashed the instant he thought America could be in some sort of potential danger of recolonization.

Georgia lifted his head at the familiar baby-style insult direted towards said lobsterback and looked up from his phone. He gasped before grinning happily and forcing England to turn so that Georgia could get a better view of the baby. Sure enough--

"ANDREW~!! I was soooo worried about you! I went to go eat in my room and make you a little matching uniform and came out to find you missing!"

Rather than take the child away from England, since snatching things from others was rude, he instead ruffled the younger boy's hair before he leaned down to plant a kiss on the baby's head... and then he smelled something funny. What was that? It was sort of familiar. Like iron... He stood up with a firm look on his face and put his hands on his hips. "Andrew S. Hickory, why do I smell blood on you? Spill it mister. You can't hide this one from me."

Tennessee's glaring at England was only broken when Georgia ruffled his hair affectionately and he was forced to turn his attention back to his big brother. Andrew blushed and wrinkled his nose as he covered the top of his head to defend it from kisses. However, he notably left his forehead wide open.

"Q-Quit it, Geowge!" he whined and was only saved by the lingering scent of blood. The baby flinched lightly when he heard his full name and knew he was in trouble when he saw Georgia's hands on his hips. The baby sneakily put his hands behind his back to hide the ear he had taken as compensation from the Math teacher as payment for touching him.

"D-didn't do noffin'," he lied with a guilty expression as he looked up at Christian.

England waited a moment for Andrew to get situated and blushed even more so as he chose to lay his little head against shoulder. The elder couldn't help his blush deep and widening his grin at bit as he felt the warmth radiating from the boy to his chest. Curious, he placed a hand to the boy's forehead only to find it a bit warmer than normal body temperature. 'A fever... If I had known sooner, perhaps I wouldn't of been so hard on him.' he thought to himself.

Suddenly something rammed into his back, causing him to loose balance. Thankfully whoever it was, grabbed hold before the English man fell over while making sure not the child in his arms to get harmed in the possibility of a fall. Soon as Arthur was steady again on his own two feet he turned his head to find Georgia. "You should know better than anyone not to run around in the hallways and text at the same time." was his automatic response. "Hold on, what's this about Miss Lili?" apparently he was unaware of Lili's disappearance due to the busy life on campus for the past several days.

Feeling the toddler somewhat climb and looking over his shoulder, he turned his body around for them to look face to face at their newcomer and stood blankly as the boy waved to the other. However his brows twitched and his body went stiff at the name of 'lobsterback.' Where on earth did this boy pick up the word. It was almost as if he were- 'ANDREW~!'

So... it was him the whole time. The stiffness and distraught twitches from the corner of his lips didn't stop until he heard something about the smell of iron. Hm? Iron? What would make Andrew smell like iron? Blood has a metallic sense to it so maybe-... no that can't be right. Then again... he was wild at this age. Arthur's gazed lowered to the boy, mimicking Georgia's tone of seriousness. "Oh really."

Georgia's cyan eyes narrowed slightly as a parental frown crossed his lips. He bent down to be slightly above eye level from Andrew to show he wasn't playing around at the moment. His twang even got a bit thicker, which was usually a bad sign for whoever was receiving it when he was in a bad mood like he was right now. "Now Andrew, I know you're lying to me, boy. You never been able to kept it secret none when you done fibbed. Now, I'll give ya one more fair warning-- I mighta never beat you, but Mister Arthur here won't think twice 'bout a good thrashing. Why, when I was your age, he'd take a bamboo cane to my hide if I even THOUGHT about lyin' 'bout no'in'. You wan' that?" Yes. Georgia never once struck his younger brothers and sisters....

But he had mastered the art of putting the fear of God into them.

He stood up straight and crossed his arms as his hip cocked to the side slightly as he once more looked to Andrew crossly.
"Now then, Andrew. What did you you? Who did you hurt? An' what did ya take from 'em? One more lie, an' I swear to God above you'll regret fibbin' to me, young mister." It could either be considered a good or a bad thing that, whenever England couldn't raise him, that Germany and Scotland had both raised him rather equally.

Tennessee cringed guiltily as if he just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. His eyes turned downward when Georgia called him out on lying and glanced at Arthur warily. Little did Christian know he'd already been spanked harshly for his poor manners by the Englishman and wasn't exactly looking forward to a repeat so this threat held more weight than it normally would. He was quiet for a few more moments while internally struggling with whether to come clean or not even though he knew lying was futile at this point. Finally he held his hand out to his big brother and revealed the ear he had taken earlier.

"Maff teacha' had it commin'..." he mumbled softly with a faint edge of defiance. Though Tennessee was sorry he got caught, he didn't seem to regret his act of violence one bit. From the wild little frontier's perspective this was a light warning compared to some of the things he had done in his youth.

Georgia, without missing a beat, quickly snatched the ear out of the little tot's hand and began to wave it in his face the way a scolding parent would about finding half-eaten junk food hidden in their child's room. "Andrew, if I done tol' ya once, I done tol' ya a million time-- ye ain't s'posed to take no'in' offa no one even 'if they deserved it'. It's a bad habit to solve all yer pro'lems with violence." Hello? Mister Kettle? Yes, this is The Pot. I'd like to call to ask you to please stop calling me black. "Besides, ears are jus' as important as noses, fingers, an' legs, so ya can' just be snatchin' 'em from people like it ain't a big deal." Dear God. They've had this talk before. Actually, it sounded like Georgia had perfected this particular scolding from how, even with how thick his southern accent was by this point, it was still fairly easy to get the message that poor little Watauga was in deep trouble with his brother.

If it weren't for so many wars and bloodshed experience as a nation, Arthur would of been utterly mortified by the child's display. Why hadn't the elder noticed the blood until now is beyond him. Something like this was even more serious than a simple punch or bullying... The child-dotting-parent feeling faded as it had came and suddenly Arthur didn't want to hold the child anymore. He held out Andrew to give to Christian since he seemed to be more in tune with the boy than him.

"Do you know how Mr. Hickory became this way?" he asked, deliberately avoiding the ear issue much as possible at this point. He could probably heal the man later.

The Watauga Association

Andrew sulked at being scolded by his big brother and looked away as the ear was waved at him. He knew he wasn't supposed to do those things, and the State of Tennessee certainly knew better, but the young Watauga Association saw removing the ear as relatively kind considering the brutality of frontier justice which, as a baby, had been practically instinctive. It was hard for him to understand why it was wrong aside from the fact that George didn't approve... He started to argue that at least he hadn't crippled the man by removing a more functional body part, but was cut off before he could get a word in when Christian declared ears were important, too. Andrew pouted unhappily and subconsciously started to sink back against England to have something against his back for comfort as his heart also started to sink at his big brother's obvious disapproval.

Suddenly the warmth of England's chest and embrace was gone and Tennessee was momentarily startled as he was held out to Georgia like something unpleasant the nation wanted to be rid of. The baby quietly glanced over his shoulder and watched Arthur's face--now far more familiar in its rigid firmness--as he inquired about Mr. Hickory's condition. Andrew wasn't sure where to look now so his eyes calmly if not blankly fell to the ground as he dangled in front of Christian. It certainly hadn't been a death sentence this time, but the child didn't need to have a gun pointed at him to know he was unwanted by "Mother Britain."

It wasn't surprising to him that he had been instantly rejected the moment Arthur realized who and what he was; a half-wild, practically uncivilized, illegal settlement who understood violence better than table manners. No, there was nothing surprising about Watauga being rejected again.

What was surprising was that it hurt. Not as much as when he had been naive enough to think England was his mother, but the brief moment of tenderness reminded Tennessee of the fact he didn't have one. Which would be fine except for the fact that it made him the b*****d child North Carolina took in as her illegitimate baby brother rather than a real one. After a moment he squirmed to get down and stand on his own two feet. The last thing he wanted was for Arthur or Christian to think he needed anyone to take care of or cuddle him. Andrew could take care of himself just fine without a parent or parental figure.

And so long as he didn't need anyone then it didn't matter if he was wanted or not.

Georgia sighed softly as England held him out. At the risk of sounding accusatory, Georgia was a little used to England running out on him when the going got rough... Still, a part of him felt bad about the look on Tennessee's face...

He gave a soft smile and held Tennessee's hand, palm up, and placed the ear back into his little brother's ear. He then gently took his brother from England's arms and held the little boy so that he balanced on his hip. He looked down to Tennessee, still wearing a serious expression, but much less harsh than just minutes before.
"Now Andrew, you know I'm mad at you for what you did-- and I'm sure you know by now that what you did was wrong-- but that doesn't mean I'll stay mad forever. In fact, all I want you to do is, and this can wait until later, I want you to tell the Mister Rome what you did and hand over the ear, alright? Until then, I need you to hold onto that-- and don't lose it. Got it?" He didn't cuddle his brother-- partially since he knew the wild child didn't like it. He did, however, show no sign that he was just going to put the child down to fend for himself.

Georgia looked to England, still holding little Andrew, and listened to his question. How did he become this way?
"Oh? Well, he's always been a fighter, especially when he was younger. He had a pretty rough childhood that was pretty much kill or be killed. I know he might be a little rough around the edges, but he might just be a little hungry's all. He gets cranky when he's hungry." Georgia half unslung his book bag and dug around until he pulled out a fresh baked peach muffin wrapped in plastic wrap. He undid the wrapping and held it out for Andrew to have if he wanted it. The peach state then actually stopped to think about England's question.

"....Oh! You mean how'd he get to be a baby again? Uh, well...." Christian blushed. Now it was his turn to awkwardly look down at the floor. He adjusted Andrew to sit on his hip and little bit better and sighed. "Andrew's population's been suffering from Meningitis. As the house for the CDC, it was my job to make some medicine and distribute it to the states that had bad cases. However, Andrew's case was so much worse that I had to give him a shot and then some medicine to help him sleep... and..." He blushed deeper and looked shyly up to his "father". "Umm... Remember when I said I didn't have any magic from you other than seeing stuff? I... I guess maybe I was wrong because I think I was the only one who gave him anything all day, and when I woke up he was standing on a chair in the kitchen helping Susana make breakfast..."

Andrew growled when Georgia took his hand as a warning not to try anything with him or else, but the sound fumbled into confused silence when the ear he had stolen was returned. The little Tennessean blinked down at it uncertainly as his big brother took him against his hip and proceeded to explain what appeared to be the conditions for forgiveness. Hesitantly he looked up into the stern yet gentle cyan eyes of George Christian as he held onto the ear.

George was... strange. Despite the fact that Andrew had done something as horrific as cut off a man's ear he didn't seem the least bit scared of the baby. Angry, yes, but never once did he detect a hint of fear or disgust at his behavior. Even though he was so much smaller and, in his frontier form, far less civilized than the elder state never once had he felt like Georgia looked down on him. What was even stranger, though, was the way his big brother never let him go, either. Though Tennessee lashed out, bit, scratched and kicked for some reason Christian always struggled to hold onto him... He would never understand why, but the elder state wanted him.

... and maybe there was a part of Andrew who needed him...

It took a moment before he dumbly nodded in agreement as a faint blush dusted across his cheeks. Tennessee held onto the ear tightly and obediently sat on the blonde's hip without trying to squirm away. He didn't even look at England while he gripped the forcefully amputated appendage as if it was the ticket to making his brother forgive him for misbehaving. And perhaps in his childish mind that wasn't far from the truth. The Tennessean only looked up again when he noticed the peach muffin being offered to him. His brown eyes widened slightly with near wonder at the treat and carefully tucked the ear away some place safe while he took his muffin in both hands and began to eat it.

Finally Andrew smiled and began to hum faintly to himself as he nibbled on the delicious snack his loving brother had provided. He was getting crumbs all over the place, but that didn't matter to him. If he was lucky they would all land in the folds of his shirt so he could gobble them up once he was done, but for now all that mattered was the muffin. Although, even as he happily nibbled away, if Arthur made any "sudden" moves he would stop and stare at the Englishman as if silently warning him not to approach any American territory without explicit permission. Then he would go back to cheerfully eating his treat.

"It's not that I don't know how to handle the lad, I just happen to be awfully busy today." he said as he handed the child over. It was half true. He was busy with errands but he also didn't know Andrew all that well aside from the times they butted head many years ago. With all the colonies he had under him, he hadn't seen the need for there to be more of them. It was already difficult enough to put up with 13 and be the British Empire. Of course by the time he would come back to America, the little ones had grown up so fast he didn't know how to treat them properly and felt his decisions should matter most. At the time he had wanted the unclassified colony gone before it could develop and cause problems in the future, but none of that mattered once America claimed his Independence. As much as Arthur was finally sitting down to get to the states, he felt bit awkward knowing he had just held a toddler that once went against him in battle all those times and even gone as far as trying to remove him from existence. The past is very difficult to forget. Now he just hoped that with this relationship with America, he could perhaps make amends with some of the states. "I only found him because I was searching for Miss Charlotte."

England made and uncertain face at the thought of Tennessee going to Rome about the ear indecent. "Uh how about I take care of the Math Teacher. Both of the Headmasters have their hands full with the locker rooms from yesterday and today's cafeteria incidents."

A couple of sweat drops fell on Christian's explanation for his brother. "Er, no. That's not what I meant" He had always known Andrew to be a fighter but due to hunger? Well... it was possible.

"Hm." he studied the child for a second. "I highly doubt you could of caused this level of magic but it is not impossible." The Englishman folded his arms and cupped his chin. "Now that I think about it. Last night I found my cupboard of potions open and a vial was missing. I'm not accusing you, for all we know it could of be Leah with her magic crazies. Either way, it wouldn't be difficult to bring him back to normal, however it's against the school rules to use magic here while classes are in secession..." Meaning Andrew would have to stay small for a bit longer.

"Oh yes, before I forget. I've talked with the headmasters and arranged yours and Ruitlio's punishment to confinement to a shed. However Landon's punishment may or not change once I send Miss Charlotte to the office to explain her recent behavior."
