Meme looked down when the sheet was loosened around Rufus' stomach and stared in shock at the big bruise his husband had. "Rufus!!!" he yelled, delicately touching the bruise with one hand and covering his mouth with the other. "How did this happen!?" he asked worriedly. The bruise was very dark and it looked quite painful, how did he not notice the pain Rufus was in yesterday?

Kuro ended up covering Akito's mouth with his hand to get him to stop talking, the more the boy talked the more stress he was in. "Helena is taking care of them for now. They ate before they left last night and Cook sent them with a very big basket of food. I don't know about the rent but it will be paid. Everything will be okay. They'll be coming back later today to check up on you." he said softly, placing the blanket over Akito's lap to keep him from exposing himself anymore. "Now....can we get back onto the subject of your health? You need to eat something Akito. I brought you some food from the kitchen, apparently Cook made all of your favorites." he said softly, bringing the tray over to the boy and setting it on his lap for easy access.
 ((I don't think you have said anything about his parents yet.))

 Rufus winced. "I'm fine, I promise. Alaric hit me and I hit him back. It'll be gone in a day or two." He pleaded, watching Meme's expression worriedly.

Akito breathed in and out slowly, allowing Kuro to push him back. "Thank you, and I'm sorry for the trouble they probably caused." He smiled softly. "Don't know how, but they always manage it somehow."

Meme stared up at Rufus in surprise. "Alaric did this to you!? Where is he, I'm gonna punch him myself, I don't care how big he is!!!" he yelled, hopping off the bed and stamping toward the bedroom door.

Kuro gave a soft sigh. "You don't need to worry so much. They are being taken care of, and Cook won't let them go hungry either." Kuro stood up and straightened his clothing a little. "I want to see at least half of that tray of food eaten by the time I come back." he stated as he made his way for the door. "Would you like the door open or closed?"

Rufus jumped up and caught Meme gently by the waist. "He's dead, remember?" he murmured, holding Meme against him. "I'll be fine."

Meme blushed brightly as he was caught, remembering that Rufus had already mentioned that Alaric was dead. "O-oh.....thats right." he said softly, feeling Rufus' body heat at his back. He placed his hand against his husband's stomach gently. "Does it still hurt? Maybe you should see the nurse." His blush darkened a little when he felt the curves of Rufus' body, the man wasn't extremely strong but he definitely had some muscles. Something Meme hadn't noticed before.

Kuro nodded and closed the door behind him as he made his way down to the kitchen once again. "Cook have you heard from Helena yet? I haven't had a chance to hunt her down. She's supposed to be bringing a couple of Akito's siblings later today."

Rufus shook his head. "I have to get ready for the meeting soon and it doesn't really hurt anymore. Sarah gave me a salve for it, which I promise I'll put on." He hugged Meme close from behind, resting his head on Meme's shoulder. "But thank you for worrying about me." he whispered.

Trapped. Cook looked up from the stove, shaking her head. "Not yet - is Rufus ready for the meeting with the public? He has about twenty minutes, but no longer than that. He can't be late today!"

Meme trembled at Rufus' breath across his ear and cheek, letting out a soft moan and quickly covering his mouth as soon as he heard the foreign sound come out of him. How could he make such a lewd sound at a time like this? Nobody had ever done that to him, nobody had ever made his heart pound with just a touch.

Kuro gave a soft sigh, he'd nearly forgotten about that announcement. "I haven't checked on him yet. I'll do that now." he stated as he walked out of the kitchen. Kuro knocked on Rufus' door a bit quietly so as not to startle the man before he entered. Upon seeing Rufus and Meme intertwined with one another Kuro quickly turned to the side with a faint blush across his cheeks. "Sire....you must be getting ready for the announcement. Cook says you can't be late."

Rufus smiled gently at Meme's moan, but he released him when Kuro came in - luckily, the Butler didn't appear to have heard the moan.
"Yes. I can't be late today." he nodded, grabbing the roll and the salve from his nightstand. "I'll be out in a minute, Kuro."

Meme was a little startled when Kuro came in but the man didn't seem to have noticed much which was probably a good thing. "I-I'm gonna.....go check on Akito, yes that's what I'll do." he said softly though he was really just looking for any excuse to not be in the same room as Rufus seeing as he embarrassed himself already. "I-I'll get dressed soon, but I want to make sure Akito is okay." He said as he was just about to leave the room.

Kuro left for the balcony as soon as Rufus began to dress his wound.

Rufus gently grabbed Meme's wrist. "Please stay and talk to me?" he murmured, needing some words of comfort before the speech. Or a kiss. That would work...
To appease Kuro, he took the lid off of the salve and started applying it one-handed, still holding onto Meme with his other hand.

Meme was really looking forward to seeing Akito but it seemed Rufus needed him a little more right now. He watched the man rub the salve on himself and gave a soft sigh. "You're not doing a very good job..." he said softly, taking the jar from Rufus and getting onto his knees in order to rub in the cream more effectively. "I hope it's just a bruise and nothing more."

Kuro settled the crowd for a few moments before heading inside to check on Akito. He entered slowly in case the boy fell asleep again. "How is breakfast?" he asked softly, noticing that Akito hadn't eaten much but at least he was trying.

Rufus bit back a sigh at Meme's soft touch. "I was one-handed... but thank you." He murmured, watching his husband. "I was a bit ill when it happened, but I'm not anymore - unless you count right now, but that's more to do with being 'King' than the injury."

Akito looked up from trying to spoon some porridge into his mouth, his lack of enthusiasm making his cheeks flush - he'd promised to eat more than this, hadn't he?
But he had eaten one slice of toast and some cheese... and some grapes. "Breakfast is good, I-I'm sorry I haven't eaten half of it. My stomach isn't sure what it wants..."

Meme looked up at Rufus after a few moments of rubbing in the salve. "Well...at least you don't feel sick anymore. Being King is a really big responsibility but I'm sure you can handle it just fine. I'm sure a lot of your villagers would be glad to have you as their King." he said softly, standing up once he was finished with the salve and wiping the excess on his clothing. They were dirty anyways.

Kuro gave a soft sigh, sitting on the bed with him. "It's okay, you'll hurt Cook's feelings more than mine anyways." he said softly as he gently took the bowl away from Akito and began to feed him. "Is this a little better?"

Rufus smiled at him and pulled him in for a small kiss to his lips, savouring it for a second and then letting him go. "Thank you, my husband." He whispered, turning around and getting dressed in a hurry. "I'll be back to you before we know it. Please enjoy your breakfast..."
He waved and left, having forgotten to eat the roll in all the commotion.
He went to the curtain and took a deep breath. I'm ready, I look fine... he tried to convince himself.

Meme blushed at the kiss and wished Rufus could have stayed with him a little longer to finish that kiss but there were more pressing matters for Rufus to attend to. He gave a soft sigh and watched the man disappear before changing his own clothing.

Kuro fed him a few more bites before giving the boy a break. "You should probably dress now, if your siblings are coming to visit you I don't think you would want to be naked." he said, setting the tray aside and standing up next to the bed. "Can you stand yet?" he asked, holding his hand out for assistance.
