Wait, you actually need the Soft Formless style to dodge? And you need stamina to do all that as well? Huh?

I think the whole stamina cost for dodging techs and how that interacts with speed needs to be better defined. I've seen people give a bunch of different impressions on how people think things work and just stats in general should be defined somewhere for nuubs.
Were working on that actually, it should be up before the exams start.

Yes. For example. Person A has no descriptive modifiers of any kind, he then uses a C rank simple hard physical formless strike. Person B also has no descriptive ranks. He would need to be able to use either a ninjutsu of D (ninjutsu are treated as one rank higher in terms of conflict with simple taijutsu and bukijutsu) to evade it, a C rank simple soft physical formless to DODGE the strike, or use a C rank taijutsu or bukijutsu technique from a style. If person B had none of those then the strike would connect because he would have no way to block or dodge the move.

So, to follow what you said.
What of using Weapon Formless or Hard Formless to intercept to block and/or to parry the blow through the counterbalancing system?

Sorry for the wait. I thought someone had answered this D:
The counterbalancing system, as it's written, only applies to Ninjutsu:
"For relationships between chakra natures, there is a principle known as counterbalancing (相殺, Sōsai). This principle states that two techniques of the same nature would cancel each other out if the same amount of chakra was put into them. For example, in Kakashi's fight with Kakuzu, he was able to cancel Kakuzu's Lightning Release: False Darkness by deflecting it with his own technique, the Lightning Cutter. However, if one of the techniques had more chakra put into it, it would overcome the other technique. Not only that, but the stronger technique would absorb the weaker one, and the user of the weaker technique would receive more damage than the original amount, as he will have added to the technique. For example, in Sasuke's fight with Itachi, they both use the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique against each other, and Sasuke's technique begins to overwhelm Itachi's as he activates his Cursed Seal of Heaven. Itachi would have been hit by both his own technique as well as Sasuke's. Itachi responds to this by using Amaterasu, the highest level Fire Release technique [ i.e. Blaze Release ], which absorbs all the fire previously created by the two techniques, growing into a large mass of black flames."
Otherwise, you could certainly use a parry or block by countering it with another technique. If you use the same rank technique, they cancel each other out. If you use a weaker technique than them, their attack would still overpower you but the damage would be lessened. Say you use a B-rank offensive technique to block an A-rank attack. You would essentially successfully reduce the impact and take a B-rank hit instead of an A-rank (A = 80 stamina, B = 40 stamina, 80 - 40 = 40).
You could, theoretically, use a second activation to block the rest of the damage, but that would be 2 of 3 activations toward one attack.
The same goes vise versa. If you use an offensive attack that's higher than theirs, you would overpower their attack, and they would have to defend against any incoming damage from it.
Now keep in mind that would be simple attack vs simple attack. Complex techniques (half chakra, half stamina) will overpower a simple technique of the same rank, and spiritual (pure chakra) act as one rank higher verses a simple technique. So in order to block an A-rank spiritual attack (including ninjutsu, unless you have Berserker or Mystic Hero), you'd need an S-rank simple.
There are a lot of defensive techniques that allow you to defend against attacks of higher rank than they are, so keep an eye out for those.
Just set it up, so you'd be one of the first to join.

How come we don't just get our headbands WHEN we graduate the academy? What is this whole deal about receiving it directly from the Kage? It seems illogical, and impractical, to make the oh so very busy leader of the village have to individually interact with every single one of their would-be shinobi before they've even done anything noteworthy to earn an audience with them. It makes much, much more sense for them to just have to read over a paper listing the people who graduated, detailing their "grades" and maybe even mentioning their merits/qualities earned thus far, signing it and moving on with their day.
I admit that I am partially mentioning this since it's going on 2.5 days waiting for a headband when I could have been actively participating in the rp instead. However, I think the core problem is more worth mentioning than my village's leader being too busy to log into Gaia since the 25th (yes, I checked). I'm sorry guys, but I'm going to have to bend the rules a bit and just say that I already got my headband. Fault me if you want, but I just want to rp. If I felt like waiting around doing nothing for several days then I wouldn't have even bothered joining the guild. Please excuse my frustration, expressed as impatience.

I'm in agreement with this guy. I don't want to make any waves with this guild since I think of it as overall a fantastic project which obviously oozes love and devotion, but I can't get into that roleplay if I'm stuck for some OOC nonsense at the starting point. Also because the village leader has not been responding to my request I also cannot get a village central genin tournament operating yet. Is there anyone else in Suna who I can rely on to assist, since at this moment I have eight confirmed genin who which to partake in a tournament?
(Also to Ariel who will either read this message or probably be told about this, I have no ill will toward you. I completely get that life gets in the way. But, I want to do my part in making Suna an active village by giving people things to do, including myself. So I hope you don't take this as me actively trying to side step your authority.)

I have a question. Why is it that tamer class seems very regulated in ninjutsu, (to the point that at chuunin rank all a ninja receives is eight ninjutsu slots), but the class only gives word count reductions to taijutsu? In addition, the class only gives taijutsu every other post. Wouldn't it make more sense to give the tamers and their pets ninjutsu reductions since that is their primary way of damage? Even if you want to keep the focus taijutsu since there is one animal taijutsu style, (which... is not the best), could it be like performer class where both taijutsu and ninjutsu get word count reductions? Especially for those poor pets?

The reason behind the class having so many slots on paper is that they have to split those between their pets and themselves. It had been visited and revisited and ultimately this version strikes a nice balance. For those trying to game the slot bonus it doesn't end well, as they receive no bonuses to using said jutsu.
AsfatastheReductions go. Ii feelreductive are meaninglessI think that was your question? Did I miss anything?

Reductions are not useless. As a roleplayer in this guild I rely on these reductions in order to get the techniques which I can use in combat. I'm sorry that you find them useless, but the roleplayers I talk to also do not find them useless either. So even though you don't find use in them, is there any chance you can modify it to help rising rpcs?
Also, I would like to suggest something in regards to our tai/buki jutsu system. As it is currently, simple techniques are beaten in power to complex technique. This means if a D-ranked simple and a D-ranked complex collided, then the D-ranked complex would win out. Furthermore, with spirit techniques they are treated as one rank higher than both simple and complex. Meaning again, if either a D-ranked simple or a D-ranked complex interacts with a D-ranked spiritual, then the D-ranked spiritual would win. Could we instead make spiritual lose to simple? If we added that dynamic, then our buki / tai jutsu styles would function on a rock-paper-scissors mechanic similar to our elemental wheel for ninjutsu, (aka, simple would be beaten by complex, complex by spiritual, and spiritual by simple).

I do believe the reason it works like that is because of the way taijutsu and ninjutsu effect eachother. It's stated that when you add chakra to a taijutsu technique it naturally becomes stronger than just a basic punch ( ei: the difference between a punch and Cherry Blossom Impact ). The reason why spiritual beats out both is because spiritual techniques are pure chakra, and sadly ( unless you have the right Personal Attributes / Perks ) you cannot just punch chakra. It's less of a rock-paper-scissors thing and more of a hierarchy.
