Chieftain Twilight SinfulGuillotine God of the gays It is too damn hot all the time. It was 32c during the day the past two weeks. In winter! Even for us this is ridiculous. Our nights this winter has been about 25 c. Just think, there is no sun out at it is that temperature when you go outside. Actually, because it is humid, it will feel hotter than that.* *Note this is south Florida. It snowed in North Florida this winter. eek Christ on a stick. Yeah, that's not okay. I think I'd just evaporate on the spot. I don't even know how people can live like that, that's insane. I'd take massive flooding over that kind of heat any day. I've never understood people who love hot weather. It doesn't make any sense to me. Why would anyone in their right mind actually enjoy being hot and sticky and lethargic? hey, Sin! biggrin honestly, I hate the cold. xp cold is death. I stay in bed more when it's cold. Hiiii. But being all toasty in bed when it's cold is one of the best feelings in the world. I've been known to sleep with my window open in the winter for precisely this reason. That's how I usually get the best sleep, actually. I can't sleep when it's hot, even when it's artificial heat. If the tip of my nose isn't freezing while the rest of me is all snuggly and warm, I have trouble falling asleep. Of course, that makes getting out of bed an absolute b***h, but I've gotten very good at getting dressed under the covers.

Plus winter clothing beats summer clothing in my estimation.

Cashmere jumpers and long wool coats and fuzzy scarves...plus I kind of have to wear long sleeves regardless of the weather, and I will never be caught dead in "shorts." Even the name is stupid. I prefer to just not even acknowledge the existence of that fashion travesty. Also, sandals. Specifically men wearing sandals. Women can kind of get away with it because they have dainty little feet, but gross hairy man feet should never be in open-toed shoes.

God of the gays Don`t go to college here. People wear sandals to class all the times. Sometimes, they even wear Crocs crying burning_eyes Good thing I'm done with school. And even if I wasn't, I'm pretty sure that Florida doesn't have any schools I'd have been interested in. I toyed with the idea of a couple schools in New York for grad school, but even those ideas were pretty short-lived. I can't even think of the name of any universities in Florida, worthwhile or otherwise. I'm not saying they don't exist, I just don't think I happen to know of any.

Also it is cheaper generally in the UK. A year in the US for grad school is more expensive than what I find for international students to complete their entire grad career.

Part of the reason I stayed the course for grad school was because I'd already collected considerable grant and scholarship money, some of which was school-specific, and all of which required staying in the UK. It just didn't make sense to go anywhere else. Plus, if I'd gone to the US, I would have been....like a twice-removed foreign student. I didn't even get my UK citizenship until the same year I completed my Masters programme, and I'm pretty sure going across the pond for graduate school would have ******** up my ability to do that. Isn't it nice when you realise you totally made the right choice, even in hindsight? lol

Then again, I am a judging type so I suppose I will always be a major critic of my life. Or maybe there will be more decisions to be content with when I am older.

I live in Florida, and it became illegal to cover your face. this was back way in the day, due to the presence of the Klan. ironically, it's used for cops to be racist nowadays. talk about backwards. to the PD, I'm just white trash. and technically, not even that. the time I got arrested for that, they mistook me for being an arab.

Oh, I've made lots of mistakes in my life. That just wasn't one of them. Also, when you end up being pretty happy overall, it's a lot harder to have regrets, even over some of the brilliantly moronic decisions you've made, because the ends really do begin to justify the means. I've ended up considerably happier than I ever dreamed of being, and it's pretty hard to argue with those results. Especially given that I didn't ******** a bunch of people over to get here; the biggest victim of my bad choices has always been myself. Most people are their own worst critics. Or at least, most decent people are. I think it's kind of hard to be a good person if you constantly find fault with everyone but yourself. People like that tend to be cuntmuffins.

Haha, yeah, I actually looked it up on my own the other day after you said that, and I guess it's technically illegal to cover your face in a lot of places. A while back, a policeman assumed my (Mexican) boyfriend was Middle Eastern. lol Although I guess it kind of makes sense. He doesn't really look Mexican (but he's clearly not white) and we don't exactly have a thriving Hispanic population over here. Still, I think he wears a little too much makeup to be taken seriously as an Islamic terrorist. lol
