Soon the dawn wasn't just a hint of glow shining from behind them, but it was covering the entire skyscape in brightly exaggerated rays of sunlight. The intense beams shone prismatically through all the islands in the distance, bathing the sky in even more color than it had been before, jumping across each other until it formed a ring of dazzling rainbows behind the finish line. It was a full rainbow, all the way... no, it was a double rainbow! And as the light of the sun brightened, and the racers powered their way closer and closer, it even started to look like a triple rainbow!
The aurora bridge was rapidly disintegrating behind them, the void below threateningly nipping at the heels of those taking up the rear. As some unicorns dashed forward and escaped, others weren't so lucky... with a distressed whinny and most likely an aggravated cry of defeat, several riders ran across increasing amounts of nothing until they were sent vanishing downward, banished from the zone before they could even reach the finish.
Those who remained were met with one final obstacle: the road abruptly ended, leaving the racers to having to hope that their mounts would be able to jump far enough to make it to their destination! The first one to make the graceful leap, and be successful at it, was none other than the guardian cat Cora: her unicorn's performance was amazing enough that it even managed a flawless backflip before landing on the color-saturated island. Following closely behind was Chibi Hugbell, clearly riding one of the more magical of the unicorn trope, as a trail of glittering hearts and stars followed after it as she made her leap.
A surge of incredible energy pulsed through the air, making of the presence of the sailor senshi and their allies palpable and known: they had gained victory over Leopard's volcano, and they had laid claim to this one as well.
The surviving Negaversers weren't so lucky. If the sunlight didn't bleach their vision until they woke up in their beds back at home, then their unicorns ended up crashing straight into the sheer cliff-face of the island -- kicking them out in a gloriously glittery explosion.
