Leto’s attack wore off quicker than she’d hoped, regardless of the fact that she put everything she had into it. It was almost as if the second the crystal disappeared, her strength did as well. She suddenly became visible again and dropped down onto the table below her, slowly slumping to the ground. Her eyes closed slowly and her breathing slowed. As she noticed the room get darker, she noticed a youma crawling over her. She cursed a string of inappropriate words under her breath and tried her best to kick at the youma. She hated the fact that her attack was nothing but defensive, and at this point it was completely useless.

All Sailor Leto wanted to do at this point was sleep. And this god damn youma just wouldn’t let up. “******** you” she spat- knowing full well the monster wouldn’t understand a damn word she said. She hated being a newbie. She finally let her eyes close, and hoped to some ******** miracle god that she would wake up just fine when this was all over.

And then she was Kathryn again- bruised and battered, laying on the ground out cold.

Sailor Neso started to rest a hand on top of where Chronos clutched his arm, but Sailor Flora stopped him. He looked up at her, eyes wavering. A ghost of a smile lit up on his face. What was he smiling at? To those who might not know him, it might seem perverse for him to grin in the middle of this, but the senshi of spring would understand. Neso was upset, and this was how he expressed it. It was how he expressed everything.

"I told the police officer to take Princess Chibimoon over to the closet to hide," he said, scanning for Kaden. In the fray, he had lost track of the tiny pink girl. He just knew she was hurt, and badly.

His Princess was calling out a charge to the cats in the room. Neso let his blue eyes fall to her, then back up to Flora. Only when the Princess gave him the word would he escort her out of the room, his arm wrapped protectively around her.

With the crystal gone, the Negabaddies called it quits, disappearing with the redheaded woman with the powerful voice. Laocoon could only assume that one of their own had managed to find it, teleporting away to god knew where. There would be no way for the senshi to follow them, no way even for the parallels who could travel through mirrors. It was a pity that Negaspace and the mirror highways didn't intersect. The cavalier would have been all over that.

He tried not to look nervous as Ares headed their way, but the shifting of his weight in an obvious fidget gave him away. Thankfully, the sailor senshi of smoke wasn't coming after him. She had her eyes on Zirconia and Laocoon had no intention of intercepting her. Cats and senshi were part of the same circle of life, after all, and one that cavaliers should stay very far away from. There were some bridges that clearly needed mending between the two of them, that much was painfully obvious. For a moment Laocoon felt bad for his parallel comrade. Zirconia would have been a beacon of home for the senshi, if only they'd known about her sooner. It was another failure on top of what was steadily becoming one giant mountain of defeats. Any of them would have taken it hard but Ares always took things the hardest. Thus, it came as no great surprise when she disappeared through a mirror, leaving Zirconia and the cavalier of the maze behind.

"She'll be back," Laocoon assured his furry companion, sighing softly as he surveyed the damage. "Now comes the hard part. Do we blow this popsicle stand or try and pick up a few pieces while we're here?" He dipped his shoulder in Zirconia's direction, silently offering her a free ride.

Zirconia fidgeted madly watching Ares exit. Ares was a fighter that needed to lick her wounds, she knew that, but goddammit, she was so tired of being alone. A part of her wanted to chase the senshi or yell after her and impose herself as much as possible. Conflict was better than loneliness.

By a thread, she managed to resist and let her go, hoping against all hope she'd see her again. Soon.

She vaguely heard someone call for guardian cats, but ignored her. This world's senshi and princesses had no ties to her, as far as she was concerned. Instead, she found herself withdrawing back to Laocoon. If he was angry with her, she wouldn't blame him. She was half expecting it, given how much of a failure she felt right now, but she didn't want to be alone. Not anymore. Not when she'd just found them.

Zirconia gladly took his offered ride. "Let's... stay and help clean up," And by let's she mostly meant him, because the mess was just disgusting, but any information that was leaked out among this group could be useful, as much as she wanted to just slip away and pretend she was never there and catch up with the other parallel.

For now she contented herself by nestling onto her perch, comforted by his presence. At least something finally went right...-ish.

As if on cue, the policeman peaked his head out of the side closet. Even Kaden had felt the dynamic change, and was surprised to see that half of the participants had left? Where and how had they gone? The whole thing was very confusing, but regardless he picked up the girl and coat covering her and brought them back out. It seemed to be a ceasefire, at the least, between those whom where left.

"She's in bad shape." He'd ripped his coat up into strips to try and serve as bandages for the worst of it. "She needs a hospital, I think." Kaden looked down at the little girl in his arms, and felt sorry for her. What had she done to get wrapped up in all of this?

Azzo watched Ares disappear through the mirror. He shook his head, and sighed. He figured it was time to go he paused at Laocoon. "You know the last time I got flung through one of those mirrors I ended up in a girls bathroom..."

He paused, "I haven't seen her around... I figured your queen'd be here." He looked at Laocoon, "I can't help but feel like I missed something while I was sleeping for however long that was." He looked at the cat, he was tempted to give her a soft scratch behind her ears. He sighed, "Imma head home, hopefully I won't see anymore Youma... I've had enough for one night."

He paused, "One day when you're not busy we need to hang out again." He said at Laocoon with a sad grin. "Sorry I couldn't be any help with that Crystal. I swear civilians are ******** useless around here." He was using a handkerchief to wipe his hands. He sighed shaking his head.

Sailor Neso could tell from the way Princess Chronos sank into his side what she wanted. He released her and crossed briskly to the police officer. "Thanks for your help, man, really," he said, crouching down to cradle Chibimoon like a child in his arms. In a lot of ways, she sort of was. Neso was pretty old for a sailor, and this kid was just that: a kid. The idea that she was caught up in this made Neso's stomach drop.

The senshi of summer gave Kaden a heartfelt nod of approval and then crossed back to the Princess, walking as gingerly as he could with the girl in his arms. He looked at her, but said nothing. She knew what he wanted; he wanted her to tell him what to do now.

Hiding near the doorway, Sailor Taranis was waiting. Castor was not his friend, but he didn't feel like an enemy. He was holding his departure to see that the eternal sailor could move on his own. It was something Magellan would want, wasn't it? As long as he stayed out of sight, Taranis felt like he could hold on to his anger. He was not done with this subject. The two senshi would be discussing this again, and soon.

Taranis just needed to make sure that Castor wasn't going to die. Not when he had a whole lot of screaming to do.

Do not despair.

The battle was over. The senshi had lost -- they'd failed at the duty they felt in the core of their beings, they'd let the Crystal fall into the hands of evil. Over the sudden, cold silence, they could hear the clock tower in the distance, chiming away. It was one AM. Halloween was over, the witching hour had passed as well. However, in spite of all of this, it seemed that there was still time for just one more taste of the supernatural. One more apparition.

The end of the ballroom began to gleam with a soft silver light, a silhouette forming within: distinctive hair, a long gown. Shimmering blue eyes, and the ghost of a regal scepter with the ghost of a regal gem set into it. She offered a soft smile to the crowd of beaten and battered senshi, and those words echoed in their heads again: "Do not despair."

Queen Serenity -- the Ancient Lady -- regarded them all with grace and compassion. It was strange to note that she wasn't angry or upset, there was no trace of even the slightest feeling of defeat upon her features. She still looked calm, and she still looked confident in them all... and for some, that alone gave them a little ray of hope.

"Darkness has always hated the light," her apparition began. "They have always been in opposition, and perhaps always will be. But hatred is not always the force at work here. There is also envy."

Her gaze swept the room, making contact with everyone there, before she continued. "It is only natural, then, that the darkness tries to take the light away. But in this... they will not succeed."

Serenity stood tall and proud, and her presence was so strong, so calming, that it almost seemed like she was alive -- that she wasn't a sparkling phantom people could see the back wall through, that any minute she might announce that she was going to begin fighting alongside them. In a way... she already was. She was lightening emotional burdens, dulling their pain, offering words that spelled out something other than defeat.

"You have not been defeated yet. The Negaverse may have taken this one light away from you, but the presence of this one means there are others. So do not despair. Stand tall and be proud, Sailor Senshi from across the galaxy... stand tall, and let your light shine."

And then, as quick as a breath, the apparition faded, the silhouette blurred until there was nothing more than a soft glow in the air remaining -- and then that was gone too. A few sparks of light fell to the ground and vanished, and the senshi were left alone once again.

Find the lights that wait for you...

Find them, and find hope.

Between the cake coming to life and the attacks aimed and Queen Beryl, the ballroom descended into a new level of chaos. Mica had joined those Negaverse agents defending the Queen, and effort that had earned her a laceration on her cheek and a bruised chest.

Then, just as quickly as it began, the chaos started to die down. The crystal was gone, claimed at last by the Negaverse. Injured Senshi and Negaverse agents alike were fleeing the building to lick their various wounds. And that, that was why it was going to be a long night.

Mica slipped out of the building as soon as the Queen vanished. Her bodysuit melted away, soon replaced with the exotic garb of the vampire queen Akasha. She strode to the perimeter of the property where a small fleet of emergency responders were flurrying about, insinuating herself into their harried midst seamlessly.

“ Nyasa, bring me a c-collar, stat!”

Back to work.

Maia frowned when Themis did nothing, but the look was replaced by confusion, then fear when the negaverses Queen arrived.

Themis was clinging to her and shaking, or was that her. Maia couldn't tell. She was frighten to. The woman had the ability to make super youma and suddenly one was headed straight for them.

Maia mind went blank and for a moment it seemed that the same could be said for Themis. Fortunately, he did attack, unfortunately Maia was far to close. She barely managed to curl into a ball while being washed over by excruxiatingly loud noise. The attack did not last long, but Maia still felt warm liquid seep through her fingers.

She looked up and Themis was gone. Turning her head she tried to look for him, but she'll frlt dizzy. Then she saw the truly unbelieveable, a cake monster which was being attacked, no devoured by senshi and negaversers. Maia frowned knowing she would not be participating in that, but instead she pulled herself up and focused on getting phyiscal with any negaverse agent who dare to have cake. The crystal must have been near it, yes.

Maia was so focused she noticed the blood on her hands, in her ears, or the goings on around Beryl, but she did notice the sudden lose of energy.

She frowned looking around, the senshi looked dejected. They had lost?

Many were slipping out or dissapearing so Maia quickly turned to find her friends.

His mouth fell into a wide 'O' when Queen Serenity appeared. She was there, wasn't she? A ghost, maybe, or something else. In spite of his negativity, Sailor Taranis felt his chest lift. For a moment, he forgot to hate Castor. He forgot about his revenge against Linarite. Instead, Taranis felt a radiating warmth, the same feeling he got when he wrapped his arms around Magellan.

Then it was gone, disappeared with the woman who had brought them.

This was the figure that Castor had staked his whole faith on. What would she think of him now? What did she know of how he betrayed their kind? He kissed the person that had nearly killed Magellan, kissed her even as she tried to kill him. What kind of insanity was that?

There are others... Find the lights that wait for you...

The words burned in his ears. Taranis saw Castor stir and his anger returned. Slowly, he disappeared from the room, the words from their forgotten ruler buzzing in his head all the way home.

Just one piece.... one star in the darkness was gone, but there were more, more candles in this great darkness.
MuCephi turned and saw where Castor had fallen. They had fought in the past, he was rude....arrogant...
But he had also fallen, he needed her, or someone and she meant to help him regardless of what had gone before.
He was one of those lights in the dark she was sure of it.
She stooped and took his arm carefully lifting it over her shoulder. "Here...put your weight on me." She said softly. "Let's get you some help."

Flora squeezed Neso's hand, understanding. She too was upset over how the events had turned out, but for now, they had to be strong for their Princess.

"Thank you." Chronos told the policeman gratefully, as Flora's eyes widened in recognition and grimaced, looking away. The Zodiac Princess immediately rushed to Neso's side as he took Chibimoon into her arms, fingers gently caressing the young girl's cheek. It pained her to see her so hurt, especially when she couldn't save her. Especially when Chibimoon had saved her from those youma and she hadn't done anything to stop Beryl.

It was her Aunt, the one who had taken over her body in Barren Pines, and Chronos stared at her as she took in her words, grief and longing (remembering how it was like to be close to someone familiar, someone from the Moon family) trickling into her and slowly rubbing away the anger. For now she had to take care of Chibimoon.

And then she would find her Crystal. There was still that glimmer of hope. Her Crystal, at least, was no longer in the hands of anyone evil, and even though she didn't know where it was, she would eventually get it back to where it belonged.

"Let's take her back to my dorm room." She told both Neso and Flora quietly, one hand on the Senshi of Summer's arm and the other clasped with the Senshi of Spring.

It was strange. He didn't expect her. Serenity, or, MuCephi. One filled him with the shining hope. That thin thread that he'd clung to when everything had seemed to go to hell. A smile half formed as the senshi of Blood offered her assistance. "It's funny in a way." Using her as his crutch, the senshi of hail winced at the movement. "The last time I heard her," he looked back to where the image of the queen had just been. "Was when I almost died while fighting Nealite. I maybe more near death experiences, and we'll start seeing her more often no?"
A tiny chuckle. A fragment of a laugh.

A fragment of hope.
