Later the world will intrude... With a blink, he opened the door again. "Briar, was that you? Sounded more like Thorn - I can't even distinguish how you all sound!" he groaned, miserable as he sat down on the floor.
... but for now let's just hold one another and smile.

I`ll paint you mornings of gold, I`ll spin you valentine evenings, though we`re strangers till now, we`re choosing the path between the stars. I`ll leave my love between the stars.
The greenest pair of pinpricks contracted as a tinkling, bell-like laugh filled the room. The darkness dissipated, leaving still a little smoke but nothing menacing. Taranieth was wiping a tear from the corner of his eye. "Sorry, darling." he choked. "I couldn't resist." As the pain sweeps through, Makes no sense for you, Every thrill he's caused, doesn't seem much fun at all. But I'll be there for you As the world falls down.

Later the world will intrude... "T-that's alright..." Patrick mumbled, smiling before standing with his arms folded. "I'll just play by myself for a while: you come, I run... right?" The human winked, heading past all of them so that he could explore on his own.
... but for now let's just hold one another and smile.

Taranieth shrugged. "Go ahead, but try not to touch anything that seems out of the ordinary, because it most likely is." he said, smiling. "And don't eat anything because I'm not sure what might happen." As the pain sweeps through, Makes no sense for you, Every thrill he's caused, doesn't seem much fun at all. Later the world will intrude... "If I turn into a toad, I'll find you and you can kiss me: isn't that what the fairy tales tell us to do?" Patrick wondered aloud, waving to Taranieth before wandering throughout the house. He didn't dare touch anything, magical or otherwise: it wasn't yet his home, so he'd keep his hands to himself. Instead he kept an eye out for a suitable room in which to spend all his free time - he'd still leave the house, but having a room would make it easier.
... but for now let's just hold one another and smile.

Taranieth chuckled. "Well, actually, I think the closest I have is little toy circus that occasionally spazzes and one of the figures bites you, turns you into whatever figure got to you first, but I'd still kiss you if you`d been turned into a little harlequin." he said, and added to himself He`d look fantastic in tights. Later the world will intrude... Patrick found the room containing the toy circus and thought it the perfect place to sit - the toys gave him inspiration. It was also quiet enough to let him while away the day as he took out his knife and a piece of wood from his satchel: he'd fashioned a handkerchief into a sort of bag and filled it with his belongings.

Taranieth calmly pulled out a book and began to read. It was a romance, and completely fictional, but it was the only book in the house that made any reference to humans living with fae.
Within minutes, however, the book was ragging on his nerves. the human, a girl, was portrayed as a clingy idiot with little beauty and no wit. The fae who trapped her only really wanted her because he'd been shunned by his own race. With a disparaging sound he dropped it back onto his dresser. Why did he even have such a thing around? Sometimes he brought home books without even checking the titles. As the pain sweeps through, Makes no sense for you, Every thrill he's caused, doesn't seem much fun at all. But I'll be there for you As the world falls down.

Later the world will intrude... With a sigh Patrick placed down his tools and got to his feet. Making his way back to the room where he'd left Taranieth - and getting lost a few times - he knocked softly on the door just in case he was interrupting something.
"Taran?" he whispered, thinking it was too quiet in there. The cats might have gone out hunting, but where was - "Arrrgghh!" With a thump, the human fell with the puppy on his chest. Winded, he still tried to giggle.

The fae man called to come in, and next thing he knew there was a soft thump and the sounds of Patrick attempting to escape Fudge.
"Fool of a dog." he muttered, but the criticism was half-hearted at best. He walked over, opening the door. Sure enough, there was Patrick, wrestling the little ball of energy. Taranieth pulled it out by the scruff of the neck and set it aside. As the pain sweeps through, Makes no sense for you, Every thrill he's caused, doesn't seem much fun at all. Later the world will intrude... Fudge whined and tried to get close to Patrick again, but the young man leapt to his feet and then picked the puppy up for a cuddle. "Such a silly puppy..." he murmured, smiling at Taranieth. "Thank you for saving me - he's really strong for a little guy..."

Later the world will intrude... Patrick wanted to return the words, but they still didn't feel entirely right to him yet. So he blushed, ashamed and embarrassed all at once as he buried his head in Fudge's fur with no idea what to say in return.

The fae man gave a carefree laugh. He had, after all, quite a long time to convince the human to love him. He was not worried that another would take him first, and he could wait years if he needed to.
"You are quite the adorable human." he said, pulling him over into the next room. "I'm going to need to do a little research now, to see what I can make you to eat. If you'd like to help, there's a whole shelf on human studies over there. I`m pretty sure there`s no literature on humans living with us, though, so we'll have to figure out for ourselves what foods I can provide that won't be... disastrous." Later the world will intrude... Patrick nodded, taking Fudge along with him as he went to look at the literature. The titles made him giggle as he ran his finger alongside them. "Are these written by humans or by Faeries? Humans don't know much about your kind, so they write fears or fanciful things. As for Faeries... how many of you live with humans and would want to publicise what problems you have?" He smiled and turned to Taran with a shrug. "I can make something - if we go out to the forest....?"
... but for now let's just hold one another and smile.
