ooc: awesome penance.
ic:
Regina nodded quietly, hoping to have caught Penny's eye. Sounded like fun. And she wanted to start getting to really know the other xmen should they ever end up stranded on an island somewhere, or some silly nonsense like that, which only happened in books of course.

Xavier brought Gen into his office and offered her a seat, "Normal is what you make of it. To some of the students, normal is seeing a teleporter blink in and out of the hallways or having a snowball fight with snow created by our student Bobby."
"What does this place offer?" She asked as Xavier pulled out Gen's file complete with signed documents from her parents.
"We offer a safe place to learn to use, explore, develope, and control mutant powers. Our student advisors will help develope a program specifically for you and what your needs are. Your advisor is Ororo Munroe, some students know her as Storm. While all of our students attend Bayville High School, many take after school courses here to help them learn 'mutant' related things. We require everybody to take at least one of these courses but encourage more."
Xavier handed her a map of the Institute, "Kitty Pryde will give you a tour of the Institute facilities and show you where your dorm room is. Do you have any questions for me? If not, my door is always open."
Before Xavier left he noticed a blip on one of the security monitors showing somebody outside of the Institute. He reached out to them for a moment to let the know they were welcome, "Please, do not feel you have to leave. You are welcome at the Xavier Institute."

"I'm not going anywhere...." Gen said softly. "From what I understand, you people are the only ones that can help me get control of my emotional weather patterns. I bet you have a file all about me so I"m not going to bother to explain that one."
She stood and shrugged her bag onto her shoulder. "Where am I going to live, Proffessor?"
She had a cold attititude, which seemed reasonable enough given her powers.
OOC: and just to clarify, her powers aren't really like bobby's. i don't think... she creates snow/ice storms. i don't think she can hone it into the palm of her hand like he can. ^^

OOC: Thanks Penance for the idea! biggrin
IC: Lavinia Simone Gates stared up at the wall of Institute from her vantage point. As of late, she had been hired to be a gardener for the X-Men due to her mutant ability of being able to make anything grow in any place. Being hired to be gardener could allow Lavinia to help out (and be paid) whilst keeping her neutral position in the mutant world.
Picking up her garden spade, Lavinia set to work pulling weeds and planting seeds. A chuckle escaped her thin lips as Lavinia thought, 'It rhymes!' and continued her work.
"What flowers would look nice here?" she asked herself, staring at a barren speck of land behind the Institute. "Poppies. Poppies would look lovely." And, removing her gloves, Lavinia placed her palms into the grass and concentrated on the land. After a few moments of concentration, around two dozen poppies shot out of the ground. Lavinia grinned and examined her work. "Not bad..." she muttered, picking up her tools and strutting over to another bit of land she thought needed more garden work.
OOC: Yay! Yesterday I got Volumes 3 and 4 of X-Men: Evolution Season 2! They were only $9.99! I was freaking out!

"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME!?"
The scarlet witch was in one of those furious mood. It wasn't scarying Freya. She managed to take them far from civilization before Wanda exploded.
"We had to get out of here and your father did provide us a way out," only said Freya.
"I WOULD HAD PREFER KILLING HIM ON THE SPOT!"
"Hmmm... That would have endangered the escape of the brotherhood and ours."
"I DON'T CARE! I WANT THAT REVENGE!"
Freya knew she was getting in trouble when she fooled Wanda's eyes when Magneto showed up. But if she hadn't fool her with an illusion, Wanda would have started out a crazy battle with her father and her brother.
"YOU ARE PURPOSELY HOLDING ME BACK! WHY!? I DEMAND TO KNOW WHY!"
"You're not ready."
That took Wanda by surprise. She always thought Freya was doing everything in her powers to stop her from killing Magneto. The rocks, the branches and the trees were put back into place as Wanda calmed down a little.
"Not ready? What do you mean?"
"I have freed you for a reason and it's not to see you killed by your father."
"Then why...?"
"You'll know with time. But don't worry. I'm not here to control you. I'm here to help you Wanda. I'm your friend."
Wanda had her doubts about that but said nothing. Finally, Freya walked up to her and put her hand on her shoulder. It was time to go home.

Technicolor - Vivien Lord
|
Posted: Mon Apr 04, 2005 9:14 am
(OOC: Hi all ^_^. lol I'm new to rping.)
Vivien, Technicolor, stands outside apartment 726. She sits her suitcase down onto the rough carpet and fishes around in her pocket for the key. "Where'd I put that key?" she asks herself, her soft southern accent echoing down the hall. She sits down on the carpet and unzips her purse, dumping it onto the floor and sifts through it's contents. "Baoding balls, hand sanitizer, lipstick, lipbrush..." she thinks, putting the items back into the heavy black bag she called a purse. "Wouldn't have this trouble if I were more organized." she says to herself, tucking her flatsap back into it's pocket. She's finished with her purse and her pockets. "Andre..." she sighs "I gave him the spare key. Damnit.". Almost on cue, the man rounds the corner carrying the rest of her luggage and holding the keyring. "Andre!" Vivien smiles and hugs him, causing him to drop a faux tigerskin bag. "Hi!" he says, putting down the other bag and propping the larger one against the wall. He pulls her into a tighter hug and ruffles her now purple hair. He's grown used to her sudden changes. "I thought you were going back home for a bit." she chirps, just happy to see him. "Oh, I couldn't let you move into your first apartment by yourself..." he says before changing his tone to a deeper, almost fatherly one "besides, I was on my way when I saw your luggage just sitting out on the curb. Any idiot could've just walked off with it." "Any idiot did." she beamed at him, the purple streaks in her grey eyes sparkling with amusement, he'd walked right into that one. "Yeah yeah..." he smiled "I bring in all those heavy bags and this is how you thank me. Shameful." he chuckled, unlocking and opening the door. "Hey, you didn't tell me the place was white." Vivien says happily "I can have fun with this!". "Uh huh, first let's get your things in out of the hall." Andre says, laughing at her wanting to decorate before she's even moved in. He helps her bring in the luggage and gives her the spare key, telling her she should color it so it stands out. He kisses her g'bye and he's off. "Bye, fella." she says kissing him back. She watches him until he's out of sight. She steps back into her room with a smile. "I probably should do something to mark this key." she thinks, looking over the shining new key. She concentrates on the pigment already present in the key and quickly bends it to her will, she thinks of a bright yellow and her eyes shimmer purple and in an instant, they're back to normal and the key is yellow, the color of intellect, something she'd need in this new place. She puts on her black sunglasses and walks out to the store with a sigh. She can't let those eyes be seen. Her irises are grey with bright flecks of purple. They're just like dichroic glass. She's rather proud of her eyes. Sure, she keeps them behind those black shades of hers, but every now and then she pulls the glasses down to dazzle whomever she's focusing on at the time. Some average humans are damned cruel when it comes to things like this. If certain humans had their way, she'd be just like them. Or dead, which is just the same to her. "A school just for mutants..." she thinks bitterly "you'd think we were lepers.". She's happy she can have her senior year in a school, rather than being homeschooled, but she wishes things could be different.

((OOC: Oh, boy, THIs could get interesting. A telepath talking to someone who hates telepaths... >.< I can just imagine. In fact...))
WHAT THE...?!?!?
Whirling, Raine's slim form flew into a crouch of self-defense, her crimson optics darting all along the lawn outside the Institute for the owner of the voice.
"Where are you?! What do you want?!"
She was on the defensive, her distrusting nature and almost uncaring personality signaling all the warnings throughout her mind. That is when she realized the voice...had been in her mind...sorta...
Raising herself from the crouch, Raine turned her cunning optics upon the building behind her. One hand lightly tangled the fingers in the ruff around Katori's neck, the canine growling softly as his ice-blue eyes watched the doors to the building, as if waiting for them to burst open and for the two of them to be attacked. It has happened before.
What...was it about the voice...
It seemed wise, yes, but...there was a different quality about it....
Eyes growing intense, she focused on the owner of the voice, hoping he could hear her own response.
'The question is....do you want someone like me around...?'
A smirk qraced her lips slightly, her homicidal and violent tendencies more then obvious. Oh, yes, she wasn't...um...exactly...the best person for students to be around.
((OOC: To reclarify, Raine is still neutral. She is violent, has blood-thirsty tendencies, and a sick and twisted sense of humor. All in all, she is still up for grabs by either side. Enjoy! ^.~))

Jacen made his stroll alone to the park. It was a rather peaceful morning considering the chaos they had all gone through just twenty-four hours prior. Quietly, he sat on the bench watching some of the birds flit about. It was somewhat calming watching nature do its thing. Then he heard a chatter. There was a squirrel eyeing him cautiously.
"Go away," Jacen muttered silently as the squirrel stood on his haunches and stared at him. Jacen just shook his head, pointed his finger, and let a small stream of energy zip at the squirrel's feet, sending the rodent scurrying up the nearest tree.
"Cur...," he muttered as he leaned his head back and started to soak up some sun. While he rested, he heard people walking by and enjoying the day. It was no secret that the kids wouldn't be actually attending school for a bit until it was reconstructed.
Still sitting there, Jacen looked forward as he saw a small group of girls no older than 17 walking by, sort of giggling. Jacen had to force himself to grin at them. When they left, he let out a sigh and lit a cigarette. He knew he couldn't afford himself a relationship with someone; he didn't want to go soft and lose his edge.
Sitting there, he must have inhaled half of his cig in a minute. He didn't know why he was so out of it, right now. Of course, he was still reeling from the capture and resulting escape. When he tossed the dead cig to the ground, he heard a female approach from behind. He knew she was female because of her voice.
"Littering is a fineable offense, dear. You know that."
Jacen didn't even turn around. "Well...what brings you to this burg?"

Wiping the sweat from her brow, Lavinia stood and stretched. The Institute now had a garden and a lawn that shown a splendid metallic green. Lavinia stooped to pick up her equipment and head off for the day when she spotted a girl on the Institute's steps. 'Why is she just standing there?' Lavinia thought to herself, rocking on her heel. A thousand possibilities swept through her mind, each getting even more and more ridiculous and constantly returning to: "Because she can."
Shrugging, Lavinia picked up the last tool and, placing it in a bag she always brought along, started heading towards the gated entrance. Being in a neutral state was not easy for Lavinia. Considering her house was on the other end of town and took quite some time to get to, Lavinia was often times wishing to be living with either the X-Men or the Brotherhood, each close enough to walk to and not worry about being abducted.
Lavinia smiled warmly. But then, how would I get money? I certainly couldn't get a real job. Besides, being a gardener/freelancer is much more fun than working at some fast food place, smelling like grease all the time. And also, settling down just isn't my thing.
Turning to stare out at the beautiful Eden (which gave her her nickname) she had created, Lavinia's smiled broadened and she pushed the gate open, a spade falling behind her.

OOC: Kadiska, heh, glad you liked that wink
Class finally let out around 4:00 PM... after Kim assigned the class, no thanks to Penny, an essay due the following week on the psychological effects of using mutant abilities on other people... without using any Xavier files for research. Yes, they could all thank Penny for that joy. Although, Penny noticed that Jamie was one of the ones that found it truely interesting. "Good for him," she thought. Not everybody was a synical as she was.
Penny wasn't happy with Ms. Raine's assignment. They had homework from regular high school to begin with.. not to mention, being an Xavier student meant all sorts of 'extra cirricular' activities.
She walked by Xavier's office which had its door open. She peeked in and saw a new student sitting with Xavier. Her brain was telling her that Xavier was knocking to get her a message, but she wasn't going to let it in. Xavier wasn't the type to go forcing his messages into her head eventhough he could. He caught her eye instead.
"What's up, Chu- Professor," She had to show the man some respect when others were around. He never appreciated her calling him Chuck in front of the other students.
"The front door, Penny, please... and if you see Kitty, could you send her this way?" Xavier asked.
"I can give the tour," Penny offered. Kitty was more politically correct, of course, "Have her meet me out front."
Penny waved and told Anna and Regina that she'd meet up with them. They broke up at the end of the corridor where Penny set her books on the table. Her ears told her there was somebody on the front porch before she got close enough to open the windows and see out. The movements sounded slightly angry. She figured if trouble was brewing, she'd probably be the best one to answer the door... rather than one of the young ones.
The front door swung open and Penny stepped out to see the girl on the porch and tried to sound as inviting as possible... which was hard since Penny always sounded insane, angry, serious, rough, or like she was from the middle of Brookly without the accent, "Hi, welcome to the Institute. How can we help you?"
She then looked around and noticed that the landscaping of the yard was quite different from how it looked a few hours ago. She yelled over to the gardener, "Hey, nice work here."

The woman simply took a seat next to Jacen on the park bench. As he knew, there was no mistaking who that was when he heard her, let alone seeing her and what she was dressed in. A rather elegant white dress.....at a public park.
"You know I'm from Boston, dear," she said with a sly grin on her face. "And besides, I had family business to tend to."
"Family business...," Jacen absently mimicked her.
"Is everything alright? You seem to be distracted by something."
"It's nothing, Ms. Frost," he answered immediately.
Emma looked at him hard, like she was the recipient of a massive insult. "You know you can call me Emma," was all she said.
"I'm sorry. Emma. I'm just." Jacen stopped speaking for a moment. Suddenly a massive headache came over him, along with some gut-wrenching nausea. "Emma....," he stammered, "Get...out...of my mind...please...."
"You know how concerned I am for your well-being," she said quietly as a few people walked by.
Jacen smiled big when he heard that. "Emma Frost. The White Queen. Showing concern? Is the world ending soon?" The glare he recieved from her would have at least triggered a war if nothing else. There was a moment of silence between the two before Jacen spoke up again. "What exactly bring you here again, Emma?"
"I did, in fact, come here to speak with you," she said as she moved a bit closer to him and rested her hand on his. "How long do you plan on languishing as Magneto's dog?"
".......You know the answer. The man saved my life, and I owe him that much," Jacen said calmly, "If I were to turn my back on him now, that would be most dishonorable."
Emma let out a small sigh. "Scion......Jacen....," Emma said, trailing off. That was the first time she had ever used his Christian name. "You are so much more than someone's flunkey. And I know how much it eats at you knowing that you're a much better leader than Magneto's son."
Jacen didn't say anything, but the expression on his face said it all. Where was Pietro during the jungle exploit? He certainly wasn't leading the Brotherhood's escape efforts. All Jacen did was shake his head, trying to clear that thought from his mind.
"I'm looking to start my own private school," Emma said abruptly, "And I want you to be my first student."
"..............."
"You have all the qualities that I'd be looking for in a first time enrollment," she said, obviously doing what she could to butter him up, "The physical skills, leadership skills, and your intelligence. All three of those you rarely find in a man, let alone someone as young as you are."
"......Emma...I told you....I can't," Jacen said sheepishly. Maybe he would have liked this, but...he didn't want to dishonor his debt to Magneto.
"That's a shame," she said while standing up. "Oh. Here." From wherever it was stashed at, she handed Jacen a small business-type card. "My number. In case you change your mind sometime down the road. Just remember, even if you aren't my first enrollment, you will be second only to me." Then as she gave him the business card, she leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, still trying to sway his mind. "I hope to hear from you soon," she said as she turned to leave.
That obviously caught Jacen's attention somewhat, but he knew where his loyalties lay. Slowly, he palmed the card and put it into his pocket before speaking up.
"Thank you, Ms. Frost...I mean Emma," he said, "It's always a pleasure being able to converse with you."
And he did always enjoy speaking with her. He had plenty of time to do just that when she had to stitch the fabric of his mind back together. Piece by piece, over a two month period, Jacen was convalescing under the White Queen's care. And they became rather close friends, though this was the first time they had spoken since she helped him.
Knowing for a moment that he was going to have some peace to himself, Jacen leaned his head back on the bench and started to absorb more UV rays. Emma had said some things, and maybe even tampered with his head, but he was thinking about what she said. He was definitely thinking.

"Hey, nice work here."
Lavinia turned and smiled at Penny. Waving, Lavinia started off towards her apartment on the other side of town. 'But first,' Lavinia thought, grinning. 'I take a little stop at the Flower Shop!' A giggle escaped her lips as she took off at a run to reach the shop and home before dark, considering it took her nearly two hours in the store and an hour to her house.
**
And two hours later, Lavinia exited the shop, a large buquet of red and white roses in her hands. Burrowing her face into the buds, Lavinia inhaled their intoxicating scent and spun in a circle, frightening a few passer-by. Grinning all the more, Lavinia started hopping off down the sidewalk, passing by the park on the way.
"This park is so lovely," Lavinia whispered (why she was whispering, I haven't the foggiest), but she smiled nontheless, and smelled the roses again.
OOC: Wow...this lady is without a doubt, the most flower friendly person I have ever met...er...created.
