Earendil was beginning to feel cold. "I hope we can find someone to give us shelter," he muttered, rubbing his arms a bit as he looked around. "Should we call out or something? Kelirahc's not here to help us ... maybe Shiro will be around somewhere ..."
But if the Night Elves were asleep (since it was day after all, despite the darkness) he didn't want to wake them up if he didn't have to ...

"I don't know," Lin admitted, "I didn't think we were that far inland...."
Which was why she found this confusing as she looked around a bit.
"And I'm not sure what would be proper since this is still the daytime..."
Or what would they do? Knock on the hut wall?

"We've been going out further all month," Earendil reminded Lin. "We've already been gone for a week this time. Mapping makes us go slow, sure, but we do make progress."
He looked around. "Are there any huts of people you know?" he asked. "Might be better to ask someone you know rather than a total stranger ... such as it is."

She had to look, as in really look and indeed she saw the familiar markings that made it the village she had been to. It all looked different but probably because it was raining.
"That one is Kelirahc's," Lin pointed, "I don't know where Shiro is, but maybe he's staying there?"
It was the best guess at least, she would feel much more comfortable if it was Shiro rather than anyone else.

Earendil peered through the rain at the small hut that Lin was pointing at. It didn't look like much - tiny and with a covering of some sort hanging over a hole for a door - but at least it would be dry inside.
"And if Shiro's not there," he muttered, "that means it's empty. Kelirahc won't mind if we hide out in there. Come on."
He started towards the hut, holding one hand above his eyes to shield them from the rain that was now pelting down on them.

Lin on the other hand was pushing her bangs back with her hand slicking it back. It was getting in the way of her face and bothering her greatly. Once they were in front of the hut she took a deep breath and knocked on the wall before calling in softly.
She figured by now if Shiro was inside he probably had adapted to everyone else's sleeping patterns.

Earendil waited in silence for a moment, but there was no answer from within. He looked up at the sky, then looked back down at the hut.
"I don't know about you," he murmured to Lin, "but I'm willing to risk a bit of ire to get in where it's dry."
And without further ado, he pushed back the flap of the door and stepped inside.
Inside, the hut was empty, and showed no signs of anyone having lived in there for the past several days at least. Earendil sat down at the back wall, which left just about enough space for Lin to sit or lie down if she wished.
"Small," he commented, trying to make himself comfortable, though it was difficult in such cramped quarters.

Lin took a seat at the other end and wondered how they were going to do this. That or just sleep in wet clothes which was definitely not healthy.
"Well, since generally it's only him in here..." Lin murmured.
He wouldn't have needed a larger place.

"He had Leyenda with him for a few days here the first time she disappeared," Earendil replied, "remember she told us about that? Plus she stayed with him here when you all came ... I don't know how they would have fit."
He squeezed the water out of his hair, then sighed. "We need to get dry."
But like Lin, he had also already taken note of the lack of privacy in the hut. But sending one of them out in the rain while the other changed was just plain pointless - they would just get soaked all over again.

"I think it helped they had really different sleeping patterns at first," Lin murmured, "Or rather he didn't sleep much at first."
Lin thought about, really they had slept outside which was fine and quiet since there were many of them.
"We slept outside...." she added, "Uhm..."
She blinked at the predicament that they were in. Actually a hut this size wasn't bad for her, but she was small, Earendil had a point fitting both Leyenda and Kelirahc in here must have been difficult.
"Maybe if we turn our backs to each other and then say when we're both decent?" she suggested.
It was the only way she could see this working.

"Hardly room for even that," Earendil frowned. He shook his head. "I'll sit in the corner with my back to you and let you change first, then we can switch."
He turned and did just that, making himself as small as he could and sitting with his back to her, his hands over his eyes. "Go ahead."

Well there was no getting around it Lin thought as she stood up and quickly brought out a new pair of clothes before undressing. She tried not to shiver as the air hit her cool skin, at least it wasn't cold despite the rain out there. Quickly dressing back up again in dry clothes, she finished by drying her hair with the towel she thought she would never use.
"Okay," she murmured finally, "I'm done."

Earendil nodded and turned around and reached for his bag. "My turn," he said tiredly, rummaging around for a dry set of clothes. He looked up at Lin, waiting for her to turn around.

Lin then took a sit down with her face to the wall and looking down at the ground with her eyes closed. All the while trying not to feel too awkward about this. She didn't know why it was after a certain age one became awkward about this sort of thing but that was how things were.

Earendil changed as quickly as he could, but as he didn't have a towel even his dry clothes didn't stay entirely dry. Still, it was a lot better than he had been before, and he was satisfied.
"Done," he murmured, reaching up to braid his hair. It would stay wet longer, but at least it wouldn't be in his face. He rubbed his eyes with his fists. "I don't know why, but I feel ... tired ..."
Was it because of the rain, he wondered.
