Leyenda giggled again. "You do have a point," she conceded, "though without the courting period, how do you know if you're really in love with the person you're thinking about mating, or if you're just infatuated and will fall out of love with them after a while?"

Not that it mattered for her anymore ... she was married now, whether she wanted it or not, and that was the end of it.

Leyenda looked at Senka. "What do you mean, complicated?" she asked. "I'm sure it's very simple, as long as you can understand what the other person is saying ... and looking back, I still should have been able to figure out what was going on."

She rested her hand on Senka's back and looked up at the sky.

"Besides," she murmured softly, "I'm still not sure I would have done anything different, if I had known what was going on."

Leyenda shrugged. "I don't know. For all I know, I did do something to make him think that I felt that way. But what I'm trying to say is, if we could understand each other, if we spoke the same language, it probably wouldn't have gone so far. I know, looking back, that he tried to explain to me exactly what it would mean if I received the same mark that he did. I thought I understood what he meant, but apparently I didn't."

She yawned. She was utterly exhausted, but she still refused to close her eyes, even for just a few minutes. She wanted to wait for Kelirahc to return ...

Leyenda looked at Senka evenly. "Has anyone ever told you that you might be a little too pracitical?" she asked, smiling faintly. "But you're right. I don't understand him, and he doesn't understand most of what I say."

She shrugged again. "Still, we have already begun learning each other's languages ... and with Shiro and Rhea to help, I'm sure we could learn quickly. Communication won't be a problem then."

Leyenda was silent as she thought about the question. It didn't take her by surprise: on the contrary, she had been pondering the question all night. As a married couple, they should technically be living together ... would she be sharing a room with him? A bed?

Well, before worrying about that, where would they live? With his village? Probably not, considering the reaction that had arisen so far. But would he be willing to join them on their travels? As much as she hoped, she wasn't sure. It would be a huge change for him, and what if he wasn't prepared for it? But if he wanted to stay here, would she want to stay here with him? She couldn't leave her family ... her friends ...

"I hope so," she murmured finally. "But I suppose we have to talk first, and see what we're going to do. We should stay together ... but we have to decide together where. I want to stay here with everyone, but I can't just say 'I'm staying' and leave it at that. I have to take his opinions into account. It's not right to dictate."

Leyenda blushed. "I guess not," she murmured, "though it does beg the question of whether Papa will even let Kelirahc share a room with me ... he is very protective, after all ..."

For all she knew, he would move Celeb in with Leyenda and let Kelirahc have Celeb's room, if he were to come with them.

Leyenda blushed. "It's ... complicated," she murmured. "But ... I'm sure it will work out ... somehow." She smiled at Senka. "Just take comfort in the fact that he's nothing like Brian," she murmured. "All right?" She rubbed the top of Senka's head gently. "Promise me you'll be nice to him? For my sake?"
