Vincent smiled as he saw Daichi sensei approach and knew that he had to train Zin first. So Vincent figured that there was time to train one more Katon Jutsu. He took out the scroll and moved onto the next Genin level Katon Jutsu.
Katon: Hoteri Ougigata no Jutsu (Fire Release: Flash Fan Technique)
Description: A fairly simple jutsu, the user breaths in a fair amount of air while performing the necessary handseals and breaths it out in a short funnel of flame. Literally lasting only a few seconds, it explodes out of the mouth in a v-like wave and is a commonly used technique amongst shinobi who like to build into their attacks. The range of this flame, however, is about 3m and the flame itself isn’t held long enough to deal any real damage. Therefore, it isn’t necessarily a viable offensive option as compared to other jutsus, but it does serve its purposes since only three handseals are needed to perform this technique.
“Sounds simple enough,” Vincent said to himself but then wondered, “If it isn’t an offensive technique then what would be the use of it.”
He only shrugged and then continued on practicing the hand seals but didn’t want to start the jutsu just yet until he had the three seals down packed. He then moved into place to make sure that there was nothing within the three meter distance. Even though this was a fire technique he didn’t feel like burning anything down today.
He performed the hand seals.
“Katon! Hoteri Ougigata no Jutsu!” He called out before taking in a great breath of air just like before with the Housenka No Jutsu. He built upon what he had already known about the previous jutsu.
He then expelled the air out through his mouth and the air turned into a fire but the fire only went a foot.

“Looks like I’m going to need to add more fuel to the fire.” Vincent thought to himself as he performed the hand seals once again.
“Katon! Hoteri Ougigata no Jutsu!” He called out and then took in a great breath of air until his lungs were filled to their maximum capacity. He pushed the air out through his mouth where it burst into that v-shaped flame once again but this time it only got as far as half a meter.
“Try, try again.” Vincent said to himself.

Vincent’s resolve was just like the fire that he was trying to master. He kept adding fuel to it again and again. He performed the hand seals once more.
“Katon! Hoteri Ougigata no Jutsu!” He called out as he took in one great breath once again. This time he compounded his chakra even more and more until the fire was so hot within his lungs.
He blew the fire out of his mouth but he was confounded once again as the fire came out only half a foot further than before.
“Damn…” He spat.

Vincent decided to take a small break. All the uses of fire in his Katon jutsus had already heated him up quite a bit. He pulled off his cloak and his shirt. He was starting to feel the warmth of the sun on his exposed body as he set his shirt and his cloak over to his side. Looking at his cloak once again he started to think that as soon as he could he would have that Uchiha symbol stitched onto it.
It surprised him that it took him this long to figure out that it is no surprise that he would have had an affinity for fire related chakra given that he is an Uchiha.
With the sun at his skin he started to wonder if a person can draw chakra from their surrounding environment. He dismissed it immediately since chakra comes from living things.
Once again he made the hand seals.
“Katon: Hoteri Ougigata no Jutsu” he called out and took in one more deep breath, its intake starting to pinch at his insides, then the prickling, then the itching, then the burning, and then the flaming. He was holding his breath so long that he wondered how much longer he could take it.
At last he couldn’t hold it in any longer and expelled the fire and once in the air it ignited and the v-shaped flames extended for another meter. Vincent looked down at the ground and saw how it was singed from his technique.

“One more try,” Vincent said to himself as he made the hand seals once more.
“Katon: Hoteri Ougigata no Jutsu!” He called out as the breath was taking in again. The moment he had taken in as much as he could he held in the breath and molded the chakra as quickly and as best as he could.
His head began to feel a little pressure at the sides and his lungs were crying out to him to let it out because there was a fire starting within it. He could feel the breath leaking out through his nose and lips where it came out as smoke.
Finally he couldn’t hold it back anymore.
The flames came out and burst forth in their V-shaped pattern. As soon as the smoke and the flames cleared, Vincent looked to the ground and saw how much of the earth had been scorched by his technique. It was spread out in that same v-shape almost like an angular fan.
He walked the edge and by counting his strides as half a meter each he saw that after six steps he had reached the goal of three meters.
“Did it.” Vincent smiled at his efforts.

 Hiniko was glad to see their sensei there now. She hadn't seen him since before the kyuubi attack and she had wonderd where he was but didn't ask. His comment made her bit her lip. so he was watching me fight my uncle. she thought to herself. oh well. She was glad he was there anyway, and he was right. She moved a good distance away and decided to practise a juken she had read up on a while ago. She was kind of behind in learning anything and needed to step it up a bit if she was ever going to impress her uncle.
Doton: Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu (Earth Release: Inner Decapitation Skill)
Description: This earth jutsu allows the user to “dive” into the ground and move around in it as if it was water, or even thin air. This ability allows the user to get near an opponent without notice and when below him, pull down the opponent to ground, burying his body and leaving only the head above the ground. This particular jutsu isn’t an attack by itself, but it easily creates and opening for more deadly attacks.
Hiniko performed the handsigns she knew she would need and tried to concentrate on manipulating the ground again as she had done before. "Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu!" she called softly. The ground below her waverd a moment underneath her feet and she sunk about an inch, but it stopped. Alright so she hadn't done that very well. She shook the dirt off of her feet, and was determined to try again.
1/5 inner decapatation skill.
She focused her chakra more and sent a little to her feet thinking that might help a bit more. She performed the sighn and repeated what she had done before trying to feel the earth more. The ground seemed to waver a bit more and she kept her chakra up but she couldn't keep it long. She sighed.

Hiniko knew she was getting closer to her goal and took a deep breath one more time. She performed the signs adding more chakra to herself."Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu!" she called out. The ground waverd this time like water and she sank into it easily. Dissapearing. It startled her at first, but she didn't lose focus. She didn't move far and came back up about a foot or two away from where she had dissapeared. She laughed a little she was going to enjoy this a lot.

Hiniko was feeling just a little tired but she didn't pause to think about it. Doing that fight with her uncle and then moving onto this without much of a break, probably wasn't smart, but she didn't care. She tried this again.
She looked to where the dummy was knowing she probably shouldn't try this on her sensei, or teamates, she measured about where the dummy was and nodded. keeping her eyes on the dummy she performed the sighn. And then melted into the ground again liek she had fallen straight into water She didn't want to dismeasure where she was though and soon resurfaced. She was a lot closer than she thought. Only about 10 feet away from it. She smirked. Next time she had it.

She performed the sighn one more time and called out. "Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu!" she melted into the ground and"swam" to jus underneath the dummy. A hand could be seen grabiing the leg, or stump of the dummy. She pulled it down hard, and it sunk easily a little of tit's straw falling off. The dummy now only had it's head showing. Hiniko came out of the ground and then sat down next to the head. "Well would you look at that. that was fun!" she commented resting a second. That hadn't even taken her that long, and it looked like Vincent was finishing off his own thing as well.

Vincent watched as Hiniko had performed her own Doton Jutsu and he watched as she dove into the earth and moved around in it like it was water. He couldn't help but raise his eyebrows and marvel at what he was seeing. The moment that she came up to the "surface" again he started to applaud.
"Wow," He said floored by the event, "Wow Hiniko. That was incredible."

Hiniko smiled. "Now that, was a lot of fun" she nodded glad he liked it. She looked to the dummy. "But I think he's stuck" she rubbed the back of her head. "He he oops"

 Zin sort of pouted and sat down as he waited for Daichi to teach him something. He was most certainly ready to learn some more taijutsu leading up to the celestial gates. The boy wanted to learn it more mostly because it would give him a stepping stone to a move that he created based off it's philosophy. Nagi hissed softly to Zin as he looked at the paper he took earlier during his re-building of the village and smiled. So that's how it's chakra works.......Hmmm... He looked over at his temates,glad to see them having fun and excelling in their abilities as he looked back at the paper and continued to gain information about the intriguing chakra.

“Well now Hiniko let’s continue our training,” Vincent said to himself. “
Katon: Bounetsu no Jutsu (Fire Release: Flame-Resistance Technique)
Description: This is a passive jutsu that is the first in two steps to protect the user from damaging themselves with their very own Katons. Although not necessarily mandatory to learn the finer points of the tree, it does provide a buffer against self-inflicting injuries. For example the user is able to withstand increasing amounts of heat and can even withstand certain techniques aimed at them. Withstand, however, does not translate into invulnerability as there are general flaws to this jutsu as well.
As Vincent looked at this Jutsu he decided that he needed something to test himself on. He went into the woods and brought out some fallen leaves, twigs, and branches along with a few stones and made a small fire. With the fire going he read through the Jutsu instructions once again.
He made the hand seals.
“Katon! Bounetsu no Jutsu!” He called but nothing happened as opposed to the other Jutsus where some kind of fire would have to erupt from him in one form or another but this was a defensive and more passive Jutsu and there was only one way to test it.
He stuck his hand into the flame and instantly he felt the sharp singe against his skin.

Vincent then decided to make the hand seals once again.
“Katon! Bounetsu no Jutsu!” He called out and then he put his hand into the flames once again but this time the sharp singe didn’t come as quickly as it had before but there wasn’t as much of a marging between the times. The first time it was the instant that his hand entered the flames but this time it was only a second after he had done it. He pulled back his hand and ran a little water over it to cool off and to wash away the slight blackened marks that the flame had left.

After washing away the blackened marks off his hand and drying it off Vincent tried the jutsu again but he had to keep in mind that the jutsu was meant to withstand the flames not to make him invincible to them. He then thought to himself that it was a good thing that he was using his left hand. Too often he had seen in books and films when someone is asked to put their hand out and something terrible happens, such as it being smashed, broken, or chopped off, people always put out the hand that they use the most. In a situation like that Vincent knew the smarter thing to do was to offer up the hand that’s not used that much.
After going over his logic Vincent made the hand seals once again.
“Katon! Bounetsu No Jutsu!” He called and stuck his left hand into the flames once again. This time the heat and the singing pain was kept at bay for only a few seconds before whatever was protecting him had vanished and had left the blackened marks on his hand again.
