Aikou Yami Yusuke is 5'4" smile Kurama is 5'8" 4laugh Kuwabara is 5'11" biggrin Hiei is 4'10" xd THANK YOU Those heights seem exactly right. Why doesn't anybody listen to me?

Raine-chan Candid-Ishida She said he was 4'10'' Anyway... There is no way Yusuke is 5'8'' He's about the same height as Botan... and Shizuru is taller than Botan. If Yusuke is really 5'8'' that would put Shizuru at almost six feet tall and there is NO WAY a Japanese woman would be that tall without being considered a freak of nature. You're judging them by caucasian standards and anime heights are created by asian standards. Yusuke's not an exceptionally tall man, he's short/average, and as an average japanese guy, he's probably only about 5'5'' And there is no way Kuwabara is 6'3'' either, even though he appears very tall to us, they are all tall in relation to each other. Take Gravitation for example. (if you've seen it, hopefully...) Yuki LOOKS to be a rather tall man, and he is. You would imagine he would be about six feet tall, but he's really only about 5'9''. Mr. K is taller, about 6'1'' only because he's American. And i know these heights for a fact because i have one of the artbooks and they are all listed... Kuwabara is indeed very tall, but "very tall" in Japan wouldn't be more than 6' And you also have to consider that when the show starts, Yusuke and Kuwabara are only 14!! They probably aren't even fully grown yet, making it illogical to put Kuwabara at a staggering 6'3'' Most american 14 year old boys aren't even that tall! Please just stop pretending to be right... Yu Yu Hakusho is supposed to be a "real" anime, meaning the people are supposed to seem like they really could exist, and the reason it's exciting is because these real people are suddenly exposed to supernatural stuff. Which is why there are basically no blond characters. Mitarai is an exception, but that is also why he is teased and everyone hates him. So logically, their heights would be normal as well... And in the line up of the opening song, did you ever consider that Hiei's character design in the earlier episodes was a lot different than the Hiei we're used to seeing?   Compare the two, Hiei looks a heck of a lot taller in the later one.

That's like spelling everything wrong and when someone points out your mistake, saying "I can spell it however I FEEL like" No, you can't, because some things are opinions, and other things are facts. You can't just make up whatever facts you feel like, because you'll be incorrect. Why are you trying to cover up the fact that you're wrong by calling me an idiot? And yes, if you knew anything at all about Japanese culture, you'd know that traditionally they don't trust foreigners very much and having blonde hair and blue eyes symbolizes "foreign" So Mitarai probably was picked on partially because of his blonde hair and blue eyes, that's where I'm getting it from. Also, if you had any idea what you were talking about that is, you would know that Japanese people either have black, dark brown, or very dark red hair. So in a "reality" based anime, the characters will have black, brown and red hair in varying shades to make them recognizable. (Or sometimes very dark blue as a shade of black) Rurouni Kenshin is another example, most of the characters have black, brown, or red hair because it's supposed to be based loosely on historical fact. Why does Genkai have pink hair then? Well I really couldn't tell you. And i would say Kurama and Kuwabara's hair are varying shades of red... You're obviously the type of person who can't just admit when you are wrong. I showed you a picture pointing out exactly what i meant and the best comeback you can think of is, you'll make them whatever height you "FEEL" like and calling me an idiot. Yeah... that's so intelligent. About three people already validated the fact that yes indeed, you are wrong in assuming Yusuke is 5'8'', so why don't you just forget about it and stop trying to act like you're right?

Aikou Yami listed all the right heights. I got them, too, from friends and books and such. This is a silly thing to be so angry about, and calling each other names is disrespectful.
Candid Ishida was right about Yuu Yuu Hakusho being a "real" anime (note that "real" is in quotes); the characters are bound to be as physically "real" as they can be ("real" heights, "real" hair colors...).
I can see how Raine-chan interpreted Candid Ishida's earlier post as being condescending. She was insistent and used capital letters, and the tone could be interpreted a few ways, as it was read and not heard.
I'm really sorry if I sound lame, or like a cheesy pacifist, but I love this forum and I would be sad if two members hated each other over such a minor issue as characters' heights.
Candid Ishida isn't an idiot; from the interactions I've had with her, she seems to be a very cool and very smart person. Raine-chan, it appears to me, is just very stubborn, which I can appreciate (I am a very stubborn person myself, when I believe I'm right).
But the facts are facts, Raine-chan, and Aikou Yami gave the correct heights. You can't change them to make yourself right. People did that in the seventeenth century, and it didn't really get them anywhere special.
Once again, sorry if I sound lame, but it's late and I'm tired and I really want us to get along over the little things.
