kiana nodded in approval and walked into the kitchen. the hot soup will help her feal a little better, and might make her rest, as well as possibly soothing any aches' she poked her head back around the corner. 'Miss, i'll expect you to take some of the food too. you look like you're dead walking.' she turned back to kai. 'sandwiches are good because you can cover all of the major food groups with them, and they are filling if you make them right. i'll help with that.' she walked over to the fridgs and started diggning arond for the things kai had listed off. she put the things on the counter and pulled out two knives, one from her belt, one from her boot, and held out one to kai. 'here, and try to keep an eye on the soup at the same time.'

Kai nodded and took the knife, smiling "Of course Lady Falcon." he was guessing she was helping to keep an eye on him and also 'Miss' probably wouldn't eat anything he made. He started cutting some ingredients for the sandwiches, then stirred the soup a bit. "Should we toast some of the bread?"

Katie had one eye open and seemed to watch as she slept..

Emily got and walked to the door. "I'll be right back, I've got some things I need to get". Before anyone could respond she walked out the door and grabbed her coat that she had left on the porch. She ran back to the allyway she had gone to before and picked up her backpack from the pile of refuse that had collected there. As she was running back, she pulled out an energy bar. She savored the taste of chocolate and carmel. When she saw the house again she stopped running and walked, letting herself relax a little.
((Sorry I haven't been on lately. My family's wireless internet gave out on us. stressed ))

Katie jumped up and followed after Emily and when she had ran back to the house, Katie called out, "Let's go back inside in the warmth... "

As Emily saw Katie outside he house, she ran up to her. "Should you be up right now? You didn't look so good when I left". Emily felt like she could show some concern, it was what friends did, right?
(It's alright. Writers block hits us all at some point or another)

Glancing toward the front door after both Miss and Katie left. "Hm, 'Miss' doesn't like me very much does she...?" he half smiled as he checked the soup and stirred it a bit.

"Maybe we should head back inside...". Emily looked around making sure no one was watching. She went through it like it was routine. It was in fact routine. Ever since she stowed away on the cruise liner to America, she had always looked over shoulder.

Katie sat down on the couch, where she had woken up earlier. She kept a watchful eye on the 'host' (Kai) and seemed to sit as though she owned the place--much like a cat. "So why would you want to help us.. rather than those that are chasing us..?"

Emily followed up her statement. "That's exactly what I want to know. Whats your angle?". Emily stood beside the couch, stretching her strained arm.

Kai glanced at the two of them and lowered the heat for the soup to keep it warm, he poured some of the soup into two bowls and set them on plates along with a sandwich on both. "I don't have a reason to chase you.. as for helping.. I'd have to say it's mostly curiosity, though it's also against my nature to leave people who are in danger." he half smiled as he brought them the food and set the plates on the table in front of the couch.

Emily was very unnerved by how non-chalant he was being about the whole thing. "So, in other words, your saying that you're doing this because your a good person? Give me a break. If there were good people in this world, us half-breeds woulden't have to hide". Emily looked at the soup. "Well, thanks, but no thanks. I really don't need to eat anything. I just had an energy bar".

kiana brought out a pile of ready made snadwiches. ' that was unnessecary. there is a balance to all things miss, so even if it takes longer to find good people they are still out there. and besides its the nature of man, and even we have it in our blood. fear. they dont understand, and its attitudes like yours that make it hard for them to understand.' kiana shook her head and walked over to katie. 'You, eat.' she looked at emily. 'you too. an energy bar wont keep you going long, and yo know how hard it is to a get a solid meal sometimes.'
