"I merely have humbled my body to the point that it obeys my whims in a fashion that our teachings require. I may know enough of the arts, however, I am nowhere near the Grandmaster Gandring..."

Edge took a long sip from his tea and reminisced of the one sparring match he had faced the Grandmaster. It barely lasted three minutes before Edge was gasping for air and clawing to find the strength to stand.

"There are only three Grandmaster monks in the history of our order. The first was Grandmaster Fenris, who founded the order. He, while not as strong as his apprentice and successor Grandmaster Ulrek, he was an immensely wise and powerful monk. It was said that had Fenris spent his days training and perfecting himself further, he would have become a god; however, he chose to pass on his teachings to the next generation, so that others might find the same bliss and perfection of body and soul as he had found."

Edge sighed for a moment.

"And Gandring... while he is an honorable individual and an incredibly powerful master of the arts, he does not have the inner peace and tranquility that Fenris strove to express and exemplify... He lives within a shrine far to the northeast, near the Sun Scorch Desert, none truly know its whereabouts. Gandring himself is the only one who enters or exits his home. I almost feel bad for him, living such a life of solitude can wear on one's nerves."

Edge turned his attention back to Erron.

"You are free to spend the night here if you wish. I will be waiting for you downstairs, should you desire to continue your training. Is there anything else you need before I await in the arena?"

Laren followed the dwarven mastersmith all the way back to his shop, thinking it best to ask about his wares, and skills, there.

After he had entered hs destination Laren waited a good five minutes before knocking on the door, so as to dispell any suspision that the dwarf had been followed to this residence.

A voice from behind the door yelled in response to the knock:

"No solicitors, well-wishers or distant relations! If you do not fall into those categories, the door will open for ye! Jes' turn the handle."

Kal nodded, "I may do ust that, company on a journey is never bad, and when around friendly company, it's all the better," he replied happily with a smile. "Well, I may head off for the night, for my business is taken care of and it's getting later in the afternoon," he debated out loud to himself. He would stay and take a nap, but he needed to at least think about the idea of following Tjaden. It would allow him to gain trust and begin to know him better.

Laren blinked, not exactly what she had expected but it worked. So she turned the handel and entered the building, "Hello?"

As Laren entered the shop, she takes notice of the fact that for a blacksmith shop, there are very little to no weapons or armor anywhere. However, there were numerous forges and anvils, and enchanted smithing tools which belied the scarce interior. Her attention shot to the side room as a loud clang and crash is heard.

"Hrolfnir's bleedin' beard!"

The shout of dismay erupted from a fiery red bearded dwarf standing by the oven as he sat and lamented over the loss of a portion of his meal. The dwarf then turned to the new visitor to his home.

"Well, bless my beard, a pointy-ear in my house? What do I owe this travesty?"

Looking around with a satisfied grin the young elf realized she was in the shop of a dwarf that only made weapons when the need arose and made each weapon specifically for each customer, or at least that was her guess as to way there were so few weapons at least.

"Greetings good drawf," Laren said with pleasent smile. The elf wman may have been rough around the edges but she still knew when to be nice, "I have heard tale that your one of the better blacksmiths in the city. Is that correct?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 04, 2009 12:44 pm

"'Better blacksmiths'? Lass, the fact o' the matter is that I'm the descendant o' Joneleth Durnadal 'imself. Me name's Franklorn Fireforge. I specialize in not the creation of weapons, but the maintenance and repair of reforging the items o' legend that simply dominated the First Age."

The dwarf stuck out his chest proudly.

"As fer yerself? Yer some weasely adventurer lookin' fer some half-baked enchanted items that make the common folk go 'Ooo and ahhh'... Ta the bloody hells with it. Am I wrong?"

Laren smiled at the perceptiveness of the dwarf, "Your not to far off, no. However, I am meirly seeking these items so as to improve my chances of survival more than to just impress some villagers who haven't seen magic before."

Laren then pondered for a momment, considering what the dwarf had just said and what it ment. He had just told her some very useful information, so useful infact she didn't think it fair for her to keep it to herself. Perhaps that group she had trveled to Haven with should be informed of this.

The gruff dwarf harumphed loudly as he returned to salvaging his meal.

"Unless ye got further business with me, pointy-ear, I'd appreciate ya leavin' me be. Me temper's bad enough, without ye botherin' me!"

Laren takes notice of the modest bookshelf in the corner of the workshop, all of the books are clearly well-worn and aged, most nothing more than mere uninteresting titles. However, one text was in pristine condition:

((Purest we have the first volume and an enchanted string, maybe try showing those to him?))

Erron shook his head "I'd ask about the situation with the Orcs from the north or about the recent re-falling out between the Elves and Dwarves but it seems nobody has any complete idea of what is going on. He stands And besides, sleep is the most rewarding after a day of hard work, I am ready to continue training.

Selce blinked away the tears brought on by the many-hued prismatic exsplosions of magic. "Yes I have summoned you here. It was in the wish to further my training of the arcane arts. I would be your master if you would so allow it. I am Selce and am happy to meet you Melkor." She said nicely trying to honor the small drake before her for even coming when summoned. She had heard stories of hard tamed familiars that created havoc in their wizard master's life, but only when the two were not meant for a bond with the other.

"Well, I'm glad to meet you, Selce! I can sense an aura of purity around you, a spirit similar to my own. I am sure you know that dragonkin typically do not look favorably upon the 'lesser races', but we fairy dragons are aligned with the few 'good' dragons in this world. I trust that by seeing my silver scales, you know of which dragonflight I come."

The small drake turned to the other being in the room, the Archmage. Its slit-eyes narrowed slightly at noticing her presence.

"Alanna! You again? So, what is it this time? I trust that you did not have this young one summon one of our kin in an attempt to gather more information from us?"

"Of course not, dear Melkor. I was merely teaching her how to call upon a familiar and bind them to her side, it is mere chance that you happened to be the being selected to join her service."

"Nothing is pure chance." The dragon reiterated a statement that the Archmage had used when confronting the queen of their dragonflight quite some time ago, to which Alanna merely laughed.

"In any event, Melkor, Selce is now your master. Please protect and guide her. Selce, you are now recognized by the Fate Tower as a full-fledged Arcanist. You may stay the night within the many guest rooms in the lower floors or if you wish to rejoin your companions, you may do so as well. If you have any further questions or have need of me in the future, feel free to use the transporter in the main lobby and say the words: 'Laz Zand.'"

(Selce is now an Arcanist and now has Melkor, the fairy dragon as a pet as well as a spell. Any time she wishes to bring him to her side from wherever he is, she may cast "Find Familiar" and he will appear. To dismiss him back to his last location, simply command him to do so. In the event that Melkor is killed, Selce will receive the Exhaustion and become Badly Injured.)

Prometheus said his farewell to Phineas as the pair had been spending time around the Government District.

Though they had primarily been discussing the conflict that had arisen between the dwarves and elves, they had spent most of the day talking and now that the sun was beginning to set they decided to part ways.

As Prometheus made his way down an alley that led towards the Merchant Quarters, whistling a cheerful tune.

It was quiet, the only sounds belonged to his steps and his whistling.

A sudden clash was heard as some barrels fell down in a side alley. Prometheus quickly drew his scimitars and glanced down the path.

"Hello? If there is someone there, please proclaim yourself that I might know if you are alright."

"Right here."

From behind, the dark and familiar set of metal claws belonging to the wicked elf known as "Talon" rushed from the blackness. The weapons weren't aimed for vital organs, as the steel claws tore through his protective armor, Prometheus tried to cry out in agony, but the other wicked elf had his hand covering the druid's mouth with a moistened cloth. In less than a few seconds, Prometheus fell limp as his consciousness fled him.

"Second time, even easier to catch you off guard in the city than the forest. C'mon then, Serak will be pleased to have one of his experiments back."

"Aye, its getting dark." Tjaden said and yawned despite himself. He wanted to stay here, in the bar, so that he would see any of the others walk in, but perhaps he was getting more tired than he realized.
"I'll be here a little while more, nursing my cider and filling my belly. If you need anything, I hope to be here at least an hour more before I go to bed. If not, I'll see you in the morning. Sleep well...."
Tjaden took another swig of cider and stuffed his mouth some more, as if illustrating his point.
